George Radin, 79, died September 5, 1997. Husband of Florence Radin of Tucson; father of Georgiana Palermo and Dora Radin, both of Tucson. Brother of Grace Arnokovich and Dorothy Manyin, both of Tucson. Grandchildren, Robert, Joshua, Frank, Christopher, Jenna, and Adam; and great-grandchild, Chelsey; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Govorko and Melania Vasilyev; and brother, William Radin. Mr. Radin was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a U.S. Army WWII veteran and a former P.O.W. Memorial Service 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 9, 1997 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, with Dr. Wayne North officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 2, 3345 S Wilmot Rd, Tucson, AZ 85730.

ROSENBERG, Jerome A., 74, of Tucson, died September 6, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Steve (Joan) of San Diego; Mark of Tucson; Lisa (Nathan) Stein of San Diego; Sara (Joseph) Reisman of Arlington, VA; grandchildren, Danny, Benjamin, and Maya; sister, Rose (Sol) Fleischer of Long Island, NY. Graveside Services will be held Monday, September 8 at the Congregation Anshei Israel Section of Evergreen Cemetery with Rabbi Arthur Oleisky and Cantor Ivor Lichterman officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Congregation Anshei Israel. Directed by VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 327-6341.

STONER, Harry Richard, M.D., 72, of Tucson, died September 6, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Harriet; children, Patricia (Roy), Richard, Mary (Bob), Emily (Brian), Matthew; grandchildren, Jennie, Sarah, Emily. There will be a gathering of family and friends at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave at Magee from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 8, 1997. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

ANDEREGG, Anna K., 95, died peacefully in her sleep September 4, 1997. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn M. Anderegg. She is survived by her son, Glenn W. (Lydia) Anderegg, Phoenix, AZ; and daughter, Mary Ann (Wesley) Fee, Tucson, AZ. She is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. At her request, there will be no memorial service. She only asks to remain in the hearts of those who loved her. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Luke’s Home, 615 E.Adams, Tucson, AZ 85705 or Tucson Medical Center Hospice.

BARR, George W., Jr., 70, of Tucson, died September 2, 1997 after a brief illness. He is preceded in death by his father, George W. Barr Sr.; and survived by his mother, Margarett James Barr; his wife, Martha Reif Barr; four sons, Kenneth George (Pam Seaborn), James Norman (Debbie Weyandt), Joseph Brant (Cami Geasa) and Charles Frederick (Valerie Harter); two brothers, Forrest of Phoenix and Robert (Johanna Troller) of El Paso; seven grandchildren, Lina Jo Barr Gerard (John), Jacob Lorion, Erin Vanessa, Matthew Joseph, Kevin Andrew, Michael Christopher, Kimberly Ann, Melissa Elizabeth; and two great-grandchildren, Emily Grace Gerard and John James Gerard, Jr. Mr. Barr was co-founder of the engineering firm Cella Barr Associates of Arizona, California and Utah and founder of Mariposa Properties in Nogales. He followed in his father’s footsteps in his concern with Arizona’s water problems and solutions. He was a 20 year member of the CAWCD Board, a founding member of SAWAHA, editor and publisher of CAP Alternative Newsletter and other water related committees. He was a veteran of WWII, a member of Rotary International for over 33 years and most recently involved in starting a new Foothills City. Mr. Barr was loved and respected by many and will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, September 7, 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help blind children be made to the Arizona School for Deaf and Blind or your favorite charity. The family expresses a special thanks to Carondelet Hospice for their caring help.

CHISM, William B., 89, a resident of Tucson, passed away September 4, 1997. Survived by loving wife, Clytie; daughter, Sylvia Jones; son, Delbert Chism; both of Tucson; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Nannie May Stuart of Prescott, AR, and Gertrude Scott of Hot Springs, AR; brother, Guy Chism of Hope, AR. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 9, at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave. Interment South Lawn Cemetery. Visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, at the Mortuary. Memorials may be made to DAV Post 4.

LOZANO, Steven D., 12, of Tucson, passed away at home on September 2, 1997. He is survived by his mother, Catalina Moore of Tucson; brothers, Sonny and Alex Lozano and Dyrwood Moore of Tucson; sisters, Aurelia and Roxanne Lozano of Tucson; maternal grandparents, Mr. Raul Reyes, Sr. and Ms. Catalina Reyes, both of Tucson; paternal grandparents, Antonio Lozano of Texas, and Teresa Guzman of Phoenix; several uncles and aunts; several cousins. Visitation will be Sunday, September 7, 1997, at the Guadalupe Presbyterian Church, Guadalupe, AZ, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Services will be held Monday at 8:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery, Phoenix. MORSE, Eddins K., 79, of Tucson, died September 3, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Nell; daughter, Sally; grandchildren, Jason, Niomi, and Nicolas. At Mr. Morse’s request, no services will be held. Donations may be made in memory of Mr. Morse to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. at Magee.

NATHAN, Dena, died September 4, 1997. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sol Nathan. She is survived by her sister, Faye (Irving) Labensart; nephews, Sonny (Mildred) Rickles and Michael (Ann) Harrison; nieces, Salena Rickles, Esther (Jerry) Delson and Lorraine (Adolph) Stern; five grandnephews; four grandnieces; 12 great-great nieces and nephews; stepdaughters, Esther Capin, Rayna (John) Gellman and Roberta Bracker; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Graveside Service Sunday, September 7, 10:00 a.m., Evergreen Cemetery, Temple Emanu-El Section with Rabbi Jeffrey Ronald officiating. During her lifetime she supported many charities. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Sol Nathan Wellness Center at Handmaker Jewish Services for the Aging or Habbjach Dollars for Scholars. PAFFORD, Florence M.E., 75, of Tucson, died September 4, 1997. Survived by son, Clifford A. Pafford of Tucson; daughters, Victoria Ann Gardner of Phoenix, and Gloria Jane Splettoeszer of Glendale; brother, Doug Pyrke; sister, Rena Evans; both of Canada; and two grandchildren. SHEPHERD, James H., 74, of Tucson, died September 4, 1997, after a brief illness. Survivors include his wife, Anne; stepson, James (Patricia O’Brien) Zielbauer; grandson, Jonathan Zielbauer, step grandchildren, Matthew and Cerridwen Johnson, all of Tucson; numerous nieces and nephews, especially Robin Laird of NYC, and Rebecca Taylor of Tucson; cousin, Genie Shepherd of Durham, NC; sisters-in-law, Ave and Viola Suire, Mary O. Doucet, Margaret (Archie) Parsley, all of Louisiana, and Sylvia (Howard) Taylor of Tucson. James was preceded in death by his parents, Milton Tracy Shepherd and May Sue Herndon Shepherd; sister, Mary Louise Sitze; and brother, Milton Shepherd. Retired after 20 years serving our country with the US Air Force, Mr. Shepherd was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. Friends may call at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd., Friday, September 5, 1997, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow with full military honors at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. WATSON, James Francis, 63, died September 4, 1997. Husband of Joan Watson of Tucson; father of Joseph H.(Denise) Watson, James (Cynthia) Watson, Joanne (Manuel) Amado, Diane (Daniel) Sanchez and Anne (Eddie) Watson, all of Tucson; brother of Robert Watson of PA and Mary Gallagher of FL; brother-in-law of Joseph (Mary Jane) Marsh of NJ and Catherine Marsh of PA; nephew of Lewis Thornton of NJ; 12 grandchildren, Christopher, Mary, Cecilia, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Daniel, Vanessa, Michael, Gregory, Alexandra, Kenya and Damien; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family also survive. Mass will be offered Monday 9:00 a.m. September 8, 1997 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft, with Father John Allt officiating. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery. ARFORD, Willis Ray, 80, died September 4, 1997. Husband of Elizabeth Arford of Tucson; father of Steven C. Arford, Janice Reynolds, both of Tucson, Kathleen Davenport of Ft. Worth, TX and Sherilyn Siste of Austin, TX; brother of Dr. Cloyd Arford of Greeley, CO; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 8, 1997 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL with Bishop Kevin Boerup conducting. Interment to follow at LDS Cemetery. BAIL, Alma, 74, of Tucson, born July 13, 1923, in Pinch, WV, to the late Ward and Goldie Matheney Morris, passed away with her family at her side September 3, 1997, at the Tucson Medical Center. Alma is survived by her husband of 50 years, Hunter Lehnis Bail; daughter, Susan (son-in-law, Dave)Adams; and grandchildren, Richard, Davey, Stevie, Mary, Peggy and Marlene; daughter, Martha (son-in-law, Steve) Bobzin; and grandsons, Craig and Steven; sister, Wanda Marshall of WV; many nieces and nephews; and numerous family and friends. Alma moved to Tucson in 1955 and worked for Pima County for many years and was a founding member of the Pima Air Museum. She was a member of Desert Star Chapter of the Eastern Star. Alma enjoyed music, bowling and entertaining. She will surely be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 6, at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Interment in East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, from 2:00 p.m. until service time.

BAKER, Perry S., born February 16, 1917, passed away September 3, 1997. Born in Iowa and raised on a farm in Minnesota, he came to Arizona in 1932. He worked as a cowboy on the Roy Gill Cattle Ranch south of Tucson until 1939 when he joined the Canadian Commandoes to fight in WWII. He served and fought in Europe. In 1943 in London, England he met and married Joanne Marks. They returned to Arizona in 1946 after the war, and Perry joined the U.S. Post Office. He served 33 years in the Tucson Post Office, retiring as Superintendent of Collection and Delivery. Perry is survived by Joanne, his wife of 54 years; daughter, Deirdre; sons, Perry and Russ; grandchildren, Ken and Joel; and brother, Wilbur. Perry was a self made man who had a tremendous work ethic. With sadness, he will be deeply missed. Graveside Services will be held at South Lawn Cemetery Saturday, September 6, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Perry to the Humane Society.

BOLLAERT, Armand R., 91, Chemical Engineer, died on September 2, 1997. Born in Belgium on March 3, 1906. Survived by wife of 62 years, Ruby; sons, Armand Bollaert, Jr. of Las Vegas, Andre Bollaert of Steamboat Springs, CO; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren in the states of CO, WA, and TX.

BOONE, Beverly, age 62, of Tucson, died September 2, 1997. She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas; and children, Tom Jr., Pamela and Russell (Dauna) Boone; grandchildren, Jacob, Jessieanne and T. J. Boone and Kara Baler. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers. Mrs. Boone was consecrated in 1993 in the Lutheran Deaconess Association. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 1997, at Resurrection Lutheran Church with Rev. William Snyder officiating. Donations may be made to the Beverly Boone Memorial Fund, Resurrection Lutheran Church, 11575 N. First Ave., Tucson, AZ 85737. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. BROOKMAN, Cleta E., 87, of Tucson, died August 31, 1997. Survived by her daughter, Kathleen B. (Kenneth) Fisher, Hot Springs, AR; grandchildren, Eric (Susan) Fisher, Dallas, TX, Lee (Pamela) Fisher, Denver, CO; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Alex Fisher, Dallas, TX, Alan Fisher, Denver, CO. Predeceased by husband, Charles Brookman, and son, Edward Brookman. Memorial Service Thursday, September 11, 10:30 a.m., St. John’s United Methodist Church, 60 W. Veterans Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85713, Rev.Peggy Ward officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Brookman’s name to St. John’s United Methodist Church. FATHAUER, Isabel S., 88, died September 1, 1997. Wife of Walter Fathauer; Mother of Mari Martin and Dorothy (Anthony L.) Arnaud; Sister of Lemuel Shattuck, Jr., all of Tucson. Five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. Memorial Service 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 6th, at Grace St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 2331 E. Adams St., The Reverend Gordon K.McBride officiating. Donations may be made in Mrs. Fathauer’s Memory to Arizona Cancer Center or Lemuel Shattuck Library of the Bisbee Council on Arts and Humanities.
