Prior to his election to Congress representing the second district of Kansas from 1978-1982, he had been a successful businessman and investment counselor. SWEENEY, Dossy, 70, of Tucson, AZ, went to be with the Lord on August 21, 1997. He and his wife, Elizabeth resided in Tucson for 19 years. Dossy was born in Tyler County, Alvy, W. VA. on March 5, 1927. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; son, Carl of FL; daughter, Deborah of KY; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Betty Habluetzel, Shirley Sweeney, Shelba Marshall all of Las Vegas, NV and Dorma Baker of Pensboro, W. VA. He was a great soul winner for the Lord and served Him faithfully at the Tucson Baptist Temple, as a Sunday School Teacher, and as a security guard. He was known as Barney to his friends. KAY, Marion Edith, died August 20, 1997 in Phoenix, AZ. Marion was born in New Haven, CT, February 20, 1917. She moved to New York at the age of four and again to California at the age of 13. In 1948, Marion moved to Tucson, AZ where she married Joe Miro Kay. Both Marion and Joe were self employed Public Accountants and belonged to various social organizations such as the Elks and the Eagles Lodges. Marion moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1988, her husband Joe preceded her in death March 11, 1991. Marion is survived by three daughters, Gay Joy Langseth of Tucson, Justina Valerie Kay of Scottsdale and Bella Denise Howard of Phoenix, as well as four grandchildren.

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and mentor has gone home to be with the Lord whom he worshiped and served faithfully for many years. He is survived by wife of 40 years, Eva Alicia; daughters, Blanca (Fernando) Lizarraga, Brenda (Jean-Pierre) Njock, Barbara (Joel) Moreno; sons, John David (Shawn) Mazon and James Matthew Mazon; grandchildren, Alisha, Ariana, Alessandra, Ariela, Jean-Pierre II, Joel II ”J.T.”, Janelle, Steven Ray, Esteban, all from Tucson. He touched many lives and we will miss him tremendously. He was proud to serve as Deacon and treasurer at Sunnyside Baptist Church. There was nothing that could be asked of him that he would not do for us or for the church he loved so dearly. Many spiritual and positive values he instilled, will remain in us forever. Lawrence E. Engler, Lawrence Edgar Engler (Cobb) died safe in the arms of Jesus August 8, 1997, in Tucson. He was born August 4, 1951 in Dumas, TX to Joe Sue Engler and David L. Cobb. Beloved husband of Mitzi, Dearest Dad of Jessica and Joe, Stepdad of Robert. Precious son of Joe Sue Engler and grandson of and Tommie Engler. Beloved brother of Gary (Sandee) Cobb, Mike (Tami) Cobb and Suzanne Cobb. Dearest nephew of Helen Joyce Engler, very special uncle buddy to little Michael. Also survived by five nieces, seven grand-nieces and nephews, three paternal aunts. Preceded in death by Joe Engler, grandfather, in 1983 and David L. Cobb, father, in 1984. Larry was an honors student at the U. of Arkansas until he became ill in 1994. He also had a devout interest in the Bible, Christian theology and was an avid reader. He had a zest for life, loved his family dearly and deeply loved his Savior. He had a special bond with his granddad and they enjoyed farming, irrigating, and hunting together in Arizona and Idaho. Services were held August 14, 1997 at First Church of the Nazarene in Rogers, AR. He is now rejoicing in heaven somewhere with his granddad and dad. We will miss you forever our beloved and will always hold you in our hearts. ”Cast not away your confidence which has great promise of reward. For we have need of patience that after we have done the will of God, we might receive the promise.” Larry has received his reward. For those of you who have not yet been called to heaven, please advise your family and your doctor that you will be an organ donor so that some other precious soul will live.
