Emily Nohlechek, 95, passed away November 1, 1997.Survived by one son, Edward Nohlechek of Tucson; daughters, Lois Kostroski of Tucson and Rita Bosacki of Minocqua, Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A Tucson resident since 1948, Emily was a long time honorary member of the Tucson Jaycee-Ettes and very active with all their charitable activities. OCHOA, Nikole Cruz, 8, of Tucson, born March 20, 1989, passed away November 2, 1997. Preceded in death by great-grandmother, Cruz Sanchez. Survived by grandparents, Barbara (Mom) and Henry (Dad) Ochoa, Jr.; father, Danny Ochoa; uncles, Sammy and Manny Ochoa; great-grandparents, Santa and Henry Ochoa, Sr.; and grandmother, Isabel Moya. Nikole had many aunts and uncles who loved her and will miss her. Nikole also had many cousins, too many to name, who loved her very much. John Frederick (Fred) Seymour - Beloved husband, father and friend. Born January 27, 1928, died October 29, 1997. Graduated from Glen Cove High School (New York), served in Army Air Corp during World War II, and returned to civilian life to train as Technician in charge of one of the first mobile X-ray units serving the eastern seaboard. Moved west in 1972 and for the next 18 years built a career handling traffic and transportation for retail businesses in Arizona and California. Moved from California to Tucson, AZ in 1990 and applied his knowledge of construction to projects that included movie sets, golf courses, shopping centers and the home he loved. A dedicated golfer, he also found time to serve as a volunteer during PGA and LPGA tournaments. Because his greatest joy in life was helping others, he regularly donated blood to the American Red Cross. Their records show a lifetime giving of 15 gallons of his blood.
In keeping with his desire to be of service, he signed into the organ donor program. We who love him are proud to honor his wish to continue helping others. Survivors are Mary, his wife of 14 years; sisters, Nancy Stimis and Miriam Seymour; sons, Fred Jr., Bob, Bruce and Brian; daughters, Beth Bulzomi, Grace Thompson and Kathleen Armour, plus numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m. MST, Wednesday, November 5th, at Christ the King Episcopal Church, 2800 West Ina Road, Tucson. MILES, Sophie Salazar, after fighting a courageous three year battle succumbed to cancer on October 30, 1997. SILBERSCHLAG, Irma J., 87, of Alamogordo, died Thursday, October 30, 1997 at Casa Arena Blanca Nursing Center. Mrs. Silberschlag was born March 10, 1910 to Isaac and Julia Espe Peterson of Lee, Illinois. She was a high school graduate of the DeKalb Township High School and attended the Northern Illinois State Teachers College for three years. She then taught elementary school for three years in Elmwood Park, Illinois. She married Arthur A. Wick of Chicago in 1929. In 1941, she was married to Clyde H. Welsh of Aurora, Illinois. They were in the restaurant business for a number of years. After her husband’s death, she moved to Tucson, Arizona where she met and married Ernest E. Silberschlag. She resided in Tucson until June of 1994 when she moved to Alamogordo to be near her daughter. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clyde H. Welsh in 1955 and Ernest E. Silberschlag in 1989; her parents, Isaac and Julia Espe Peterson; two sisters, Mabel Munson and Nora Sanders and a brother, Elmer Peterson. Survivors include her daughter, Joanne Westphal and her husband Marvin, Jr. of La Luz; two grandsons, Todd Thompson of Phoenix and Troy Thompson and his wife Trish of Alamogordo; two great-grandsons, Colin and Tyler Thompson; four stepsons, Ralph Silberschlag and his wife Ingeborg and Wayne Silberschlag and his wife Kelly, all of Tucson, Walter Silberschlag and his wife Barbara of Laveen, Arizona, Roy Silberschlag of Fortuna, California; a number of step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Hamilton-O’Dell Chapel with Reverend Emmett Schmitt officiating. Graveside Services will be conducted Friday, November 7 in the Union Cemetery in Lee County, IL.
von STETTEN, H. Edward, 77, passed away Friday, October 31, 1997. Survived by his love, Evelyn Kattalia; two daughters, Donna von Stetten-Ford and Nancy Altgelt; two grandchildren; and numerous friends at the Rolling Hills Country Club.
