Mary Louise Lowell of Yuma, died Jan. 30, 2003, at Yuma Regional Medical Center. She was 75.
A former employee of the U.S. Civil Service, she was born May 25, 1927, in Brownstown, Ill.

Opal G. Mabrey
Opal G. Mabrey, 98, died Sunday, January 26, 2003 in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born March 5, 1904 in Vernon, Texas to George and Sophia (Chastain) Smith. Opal grew up on a farm near Altus, Oklahoma. She graduated from Southwestern State Teachers College at Weatherford, Oklahoma. She began a career as an elementary teacher which spanned 50 years. In 1939, she was married to Fred A. Mabrey. They made their home in Arizona. She taught at Somerton and Gadsden, retiring in 1974. They moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1982. Mrs. Mabrey moved to Bentonville, AR in 1996 to be near her sister.
Mrs. Mabrey was a member of First United Methodist Church in Muskogee, OK, Order of Eastern Star, Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, Retired Teachers Association and a former member of the History Club and Womenís Democratic Club.
Mrs. Mabrey was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Mabrey, on August 6, 1989. She is survived by one brother, Carl C. Smith of Altus, OK; three sisters, Leota Mabrey of Altus, OK, Katie Lou Tomlinson of Concordia, KS and Oleta Bennett of Bentonville, AR and brother-in-law, Ray Mabrey of Norman, OK.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Foster sí Ivory Chapel with Reverend Tom McElroy officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhill Cemetery.
Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster -Petering Funeral Home in Muskogee, OK.
June Ellen Puckett
June Ellen Puckett, 76, passed away January 27, 2003 in Peoria, Arizona, where she resided for many years. She was a longtime active member of the Peoria Arizona Historical Society.
Survivors include her son, Joe Puckett of Peoria, Arizona, son & daughter-in-law, Jim and Vickie Puckett of Phoenix, Arizona, son and daughter-in-law Jack and Evelyn Puckett of Yuma, Arizona, and granddaughter, Bonnie Puckett of San Diego, California.
Graveside services were held January 29, 2003 at Glendale Memorial Park Cemetary in Glendale, Arizona.

Nelle Louise (Knox) Kumley
Nelle L. Kumley was born on March 26, 1940 in Trinidad, Colorado. She went home to be with the Lord on January 24, 2003. Her Going Home Celebration will be on January 31, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Christian Center in Pinetop, Arizona. Nelle is survived by her husband, of 46 years, Charles Kumley, Jr., her daughters Esther L. Schmid with husband Don R., Ruthey Phillips with husband Walter R., her sons Charles J. Kumley with wife Christina and James W. Kumley, six grandchildren, one step grandchild, two sisters, one brother, and also by her parents Clara Mae McAtee and Ernest T. Knox and one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law, 27 nieces and nephews, 26 great nieces and nephews and three great great nieces and nephews.
Nelle loved her family and friends. She and her husband were missionaries to the Navajos in Sanders, Arizona for over ten years and in Concho, Arizona for three years and pastored in the Assembly of God Church in Canyon Day, Arizona for over five years. Her heart was in the missions, wanting to win the whole world for the Jesus she held so dear and close to her heart.
Wilfred O. Cantrell
Wilfred O. Cantrell, 82, of Yuma, died Jan. 26, 2003, in Phoenix.
Born Oct. 16, 1920, in Sofie, N.M., he was retired from the U.S. Army.
Visitation will be from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Yuma Mortuary & Crematory. A graveside service is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
Seaborn Denton
Seaborn Denton, 77, of Winterhaven, died Jan. 23, 2003, at Yuma Regional Medical Center.
A retired truck driver, he was born Nov. 26, 1925, in Georgia.
No services will be held and burial was in Yuma City Cemetery.
Sunset Vista Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
George Benjamin Mayer Jr.
George Benjamin Mayer Jr., 57, of New Bern, N.C., died Jan. 28, 2003, in New Bern.
He was a retired Marine Corps colonel formerly stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma.
The funeral will be Saturday in New Bern. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Gerald L. Valdez
Gerald L. Valdez, 71, of Yuma, died Jan. 24, 2003, at Yuma Regional Medical Center.
Retired from the U.S. Air Force, he was born March 27, 1931, in Pueblo, Colo.
All services will be in Riverside, Calif., with burial in Riverside National Cemetery.

Angel Arjon Sanchez
Angel Arjon Sanchez, 55, of Salinas, Calif., died Jan. 26, 2003, in Salinas.
Born Sept. 25, 1947, in Jalisco, Mexico, he had been a foreman for a local produce company.
A wake will be from 5 to 11 p.m. today, with a rosary at 7 p.m., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Somerton. The funeral Mass will be at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Heart of Mary, with intermenty following at Desert Lawn.
Dale Adolph Stankiewicz
Dale Adolph Stankiewicz, 59, of Duluth, Minn., died Jan. 24, 2003, at Yuma Regional Medical Center.
A winter visitor to Yuma and former iron worker, he was born Sept. 10, 1943, in Duluth.
Private cremation arrangements were handled by Johnson Mortuary.
Robin Sturdivant
Robin Sturdivant, 52, of Yuma, died Jan. 24, 2003, at Yuma Regional Medical Center.
A homemaker, she was born Sept. 28, 1950, in San Diego.

Louise Joan Turner
Louise Joan Turner, 71 passed away January 22, 2003 in Yuma, Arizona. She was born June 4, 1931 in Ashland, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Turner worked at Evans Farmers Insurance for 15 years as a Secretary.
Survivors include; her husband, James Turner; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Norma Mooney all of Yuma, daughter, Lois Turner and son-in-law William Goff of Eureka, California, niece, Carol Thoryk of San Jose, California, 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
No services will be held at Mrs. Turners request.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Hospice of Yuma, 1824 S. 8th Avenue, the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
Louise will be remembered by her family and friends as a bright, generous and loving woman who had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved to laugh and always provided an empathetic ear to many who were in need of a friend. Louise was unaware of her specialness and she touched more lives than she realized. She will be greatly missed.
Angel A. Sanchez
Angel A. Sanchez, 55, passed away January 26, 2003 in Salinas, CA. He was born September 25, 1947 in Jalisco, Mexico.Angel worked as a foreman for Taninmura & Antle.He was of the Catholic faith.
Angel is survived by his wife, Maria L. Sanchez, of Yuma; daughters, Ramona Uruza, of Yuma, Maricella Sanchez, of Salinas, CA, Myrian Martinez, of Somerton, Angelica Dominguez, and Monica Sanchez, both of Yuma; his mother, eight brothers and sisters; and four grandchildren.
Angel was preceded in death by his father, Severiano Sanchez.
Visitation will be at Immaculate Heart of Mary, in Somerton Arizona on January 29, from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with Wake and Rosary at 7:00 p.m.Funeral Services will also be at Immaculate Heart of Mary on January 30, 2003 at 8:30 a.m. with Father Javier Perez officiating.Angel’s final resting place will be Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers include Leobardo Uruza, Jose Dominguez, George Orozco, Javier Martinez, Pilar Sanchez, and Gustavo Leon.
Kenneth W. Hough
Kenneth Wilbert Hough was born February 9, 1936 at Bracebridge Ontario, Can, and died Jan. 10, 2003 at Yuma Regional Medical Center. Ken was preceded in death by his parents Ivan & Ruth Hough ofBaysville Ont. Can.At a young age Ken decided to come to the United States and was soon drafted into the army as a diver.After being discharged he went on to have many fun and extraordinary jobs.One of those jobs lead him to Yuma were he worked for Truck Parts as a mechanic and then as a grounds keeper.Ken was a wonderful storyteller and an awesome wood carver.
Also preceding him in death were histwin brother Keith of the home, brother, Dr. Currie Hough of Huntsville, Ont. Can and a sister Sylvia Miller of Los Angeles, CA.He is survived by two sisters, Marian Raulick of Goodwood Ont. Can., and Verva Fisher (and brother-in-law Mel) of Warminster, Ont. Canada, special friends Karen Phillips & son Ben and Dave Paschall all of Yuma, and friends at the Senior Center and the Hotel San Carlos.
