TROXEL, Ida Blanche, died Monday, October 13, 1997 in Tucson. Mother of LaDoris F. Goudy (John), Tucson, Loretta E. Linger (Eddie), Loudenville, Ohio, Olen D. Whitesel, Tucson and Larry J. Whitesel (Mary) Mansfield, Ohio. Surviving sisters, Juanita Childers, W.V., Lucille Kennedy, W.V., Elsie Burnette, W.V., Willa Whitesel, W.V. and Arleta Long, OH; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren. She grew up in West Virginia, married and raised her family in Ohio, worked at Cresco Manufacturing and later moved to Tucson, where she had lived since 1972. She was a member of T.O.P.S. in Tucson and was Treasurer of Tucson Estates Interdenominational Chapel. Blanche was a very talented and artistic person who enjoyed crafts, sewing, quilting, and helping others. Her family is grateful for her wonderful example of charity and good works, leaving a legacy of spiritual fulfillment to her children. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, 1997 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon with Funeral Services being held at 11:00 a.m. at CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY (Center Chapel), 240 S. Beverly Ann Bedwell, born in Oceanside, CA November 17, 1927, died October 12, 1997. A 51 year resident of Tucson, AZ, residing in Alpine, AZ for the last eight years. Rev. George William Hoeflinger, 73, died October 12, 1997. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Doris J. Hoeflinger; daughter, Gayle M. George was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Navy and a former Pastor with the United Church of Christ for many years. MACY, Elizabeth Bacon, frequent visitor to Tucson since her marriage here in 1942, died Sunday, October 12, 1997 at the age of 77 in Macomb, IL. Mrs. Macy, best known to her friends as Bette, married the late J.H. Dick Macy in Tucson where they had both been in flight training during World War II. Dick Macy died in Tucson in 1985. The couple moved to Macomb after living for several years after the war in Islip, NY, Mr. Macy’s family home. In Macomb, the Macys assumed operation of a farm her family had owned for five generations. Bette’s parents, from whom the Macys assumed operation of the farm, were William and Katherine Bacon. The Bacons subsequently moved to Tucson and lived here until their deaths. Bette and Dick Macy spent most of their non-farming winters in Tucson. Mrs. Macy is survived by her sister, Barbara Bacon Rosenberg of Tucson; her two daughters, Elizabeth Macy Oates of Dedham, MA and Barbara Macy Mullen of Pasadena, CA; her son, John H.D. Macy, Jr. of Scottsdale, AZ and six grandchildren. There will be a Memorial Service at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Macomb this coming Saturday. Burial in Macomb will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the J.H. Dick and Elizabeth Macy Endowment Fund at St. George’s Church or the charity of one’s choice.

ORTIZ, Ygnacio ”Nacho”, age 81, of Tucson, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 1997 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Naya; sons, John, Mike (Kathy) Ortiz; daughters, Pat and Betty Ortiz; nephew, William (Mary Ann) Ruiz; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Nacho was a printing pressman for 45 years in Tucson and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. RODNEY, Hugh L., born in Sterling, CO on February 5, 1930, died on October 8, 1997. Hugh is survived by his wife, Patricia; and children, Michael Rodney, Christine Rodney, Paula Birch, Regan Noad, John Ross and Scott Ross; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Hugh is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Millie and Robert Giacomini; nieces and nephews. Hugh attended the U. of A. and graduated from Regis U. (Denver, CO) in 1951. Hugh was a Real Estate Broker in Tucson for more than 45 years. In the years before his retirement, he was the Lease and Rights of Way administrator for the Tohono O’odham Nation. Hugh was an avid golfer, belonging to a number of golf clubs in and around Tucson. Along with other service and social clubs, Hugh was a 45 year member of the Elks, most recently affiliated with Lodge #2532. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, the 14th at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1800 N. Camino Pio Decimo.
