Pablo Teran, age 70, went to meet his master on Thursday, October 2, 1997. Pablo graduated from P.S.J. in Pharr, TX in 1945. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the Navy (Seabee’s) for three years. Pablo married Estella on August 11, 1948. He re-enlisted in the Navy for two years during the Korean War. He attended Pan-American College in Edinburg, Texas for four years and was immediately hired by the United States Border Patrol in 1953 in McAllen, TX and was then transferred to Tucson in 1956. Pablo is survived by wife, Estella of 49 years; son, Paul Dean, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Ann and grand kids, The Teran Boys: Anthony, Christopher and Timothy; sister, Inez Watts; brothers, Larry E. (Olivia) and Miguel; mother-in-law, Anita T. Robles and many in-laws, nephews, nieces and friends. Friends may visit Sunday, October 5, 1997 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Holy Family Church, 338 W. Alzalee ”Lee” R. (Barkley) Martin, died September 29, 1997. She was born in Wellington, KS, November 14, 1929. She moved to Eldorado, KS, with her parents in 1940. She graduated from Eldorado High School and attended Eldorado Junior College. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy WAVES in 1950, during the Korean War. She was a Hospital Corpsman and served at the Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune, NC. She moved to Tucson in 1953, where she met her husband, Joe. They had a happy marriage of 42 years. She was preceded in death by her son, John. She is survived by her husband, Joe; daughters, Theresa H. (Joe) Ricke, Erin K. (Larry) Gefre; and four grandchildren; brother, L.D. (Evelyn) Barkley in CA; and aunts Iva, Dorothea and Juanita Barkley of Arkansas City, KS. She was a member of the Women Of The Moose in which she was Academy of Friendship, Past Senior Regent, Star Recorder and College of Regents. She was a member of American Legion Post 7 and a member of the Korean War Veterans Association. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. May her soul rest in peace. McCUSKER, Mary B., age 86, of Tucson, died September 30, 1997. Survivors include: son, Robert J. MYREN, Olga M. Skalet, 93, died on September 30, 1997. Born August 1, 1904 in Ulen, MN, Mrs. Myren earned her teaching degree and Library Science degree at Moorhead State University and Bemidji State University, and taught in SD and MN and in Dayton, ND where she also was librarian. At retirement she became a Tucson resident for the least 26 years, and enjoyed Senior classes into her eighties. She leaves her family imbued with her firm beliefs in the value of education, high standards, and pride in our Scandinavian heritage. She will be deeply missed; her dry wit and humor delighted us all, her insights enlightened us. She is survived by daughter, Shirley Braun and son-in-law, Eldon Braun; grandchildren, Pamela Braun of Tucson, Sue Underwood and husband Ross Underwood of Singapore, and Robert Braun and wife Shelly Braun of Tucson. She was ”Nana” to great-grandchildren, Brittany and Lauren Braun and Cole and Seth Underwood. ANTONUCCI, Constance P. Demarest Wry, 65, died Thursday, September 25, 1997 at TMC Hospice in Tucson after a long illness. Mrs Antonucci was a teacher and beginning and ending her career in a class room, first in her native New Jersey and in recent years teaching history at Catalina, Palo Verde and Sahuaro High Schools. She moved with her family to Tucson in 1970. Connie had a passion for the theater and was an enthusiastic writer, producer, director and actor. She created many radio, print, and television projects. A graduate of Connecticut College, she founded the campus radio station. She created ”Prescription for Health”, a series of radio and TV programs for the Pima County Medical Society. She was part of the founding committee for the Tucson Children’s Museum and was a docent at the Tucson Museum of Art. She served on the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts, Arizona Children’s Home, the Arizona Medical Society Auxiliary and the Pima County Medical Society Auxiliary where she was a past president. After retirement she and her husband continued to pursue their interest in History and antiques. Mrs. Antonucci leaves her beloved husband, Joseph A.; her daughter, Ila Jennifer Wry of Boston, MA, her son and daughter-in-law, Maxwell V. and Kristi Wry of West Minister, CA; her grandson, Alec Vincent Wry; and her brother, Kenneth L. Demarest, Jr. of Morristown, NJ. Burial will be held in Hackensack Cemetery, Hackensack, NJ. A Memorial Service will be held in Tucson on October 6 at 3:00 p.m. at St.Andrews Presbyterian Church.
