Marcella Jean Heinrichs, beloved wife of Walter; special mom of Douglas (Barbara), Chandler, AZ, and Fred (Mary), Tucson, AZ; sister to Mildred (Jack) Barrett, Apache Junction, AZ; and Mary Martensen, Golden, CO, passed on to the Lord, January 16, 1998. Born in Bartlesville, OK, July 26, 1920 of Austin and Cella Heath. She moved a lot. From Oklahoma to Iowa, down Schnebly Hill to Clarkdale then Globe and Warren, AZ. Then Noranda and Montreal in Canada. Never lacking for family as her ”Iowa cousins” always got together. Many cousins found Jean one of the most loving and caring persons they had ever knew. By mid 30's she met Walter at Golden High School, CO. and graduated in 1939, started pre-nursing at UNIV. of CO., then transferred to St. Joe’s nurses training in Denver. She married in Golden, August 1, 1941. And began the ”Doodlebug” life of oil prospecting in Mid Continent, Gulf Coast and Rocky Mtn. regions. Doug came in 1942, then Navy duty from Florida to Wash., DC and back to CO. Fred arrived in 1947. Then Back into mining, Jean at Goldfield, NV; Grass Valley, CA; Jerome, AZ; to Oracle and finally, to Tucson and here since 1949! Blessed with six grandkids who love and adore her. During her unique life she was a ”tomboy” cousin, a drum majorette, devoted wife, loving mother, a life member of PTA, den mother and world class ”soccer mom” before they knew the term and honorary member of Tucson San Manuel Section of WAAIME (Women’s Auxiliary of American Institute of Mining Engineers), and long term member of The Book Club of Tucson. Memorial Service will be at Christ the King Episcopal Church, 2800 W. Ina Rd., Saturday, January 24, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. Donations to Tucson-San Manuel Section WAATME, c/o Mrs. Donald Lambert, 4670 N. Avenida Ronca, Tucson, AZ 85750 or The Salvation Army, 1001 N. Richey Blvd. Tucson, AZ 84716.

HUGHES, Gertrude, born July 4, 1905, formerly of Kenosha, WI, died January 19, 1998. Survivors include daughters, Jane (Don) DeGrood of Tucson, and Eileen (Jim) Ramsey of Kettering, OH; grandchildren, Jim (Donna), Tom (Cynthia), Ed (Dani) and Robert DeGrood, Linda Ramsey Main(Nelson) and Steve (Barbara) Ramsey; great-grandchildren, Mark Main and Samantha Ramsey. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Gene, and son, Raymond Paul. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway), today from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 1998 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 215 S. ISON, Lora Mae Reneer, a native Arizonan, born in Globe, AZ on July 30, 1923, passed away Monday, January 19, 1998. She lived in Tucson and Williams. She worked as a banker in Williams for 15 years. She retired and lived in Tucson with her husband, Charles R. (Bob) Ison since 1993. She is survived by her husband, Bob; sister, Henrietta Moss; sister-in-law, Peggy Reneer; children, Janet Lee Wesley, R. Dennis Ison, Doris L. Kraig; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 23, at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Tucson. In lieu of flowers the family wishes to have donations sent to the American Lung Association, 102 W. McDowell Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85003. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

JUTRY, Burnadette K., 82, of Tucson, died January 20, 1998. Survived by Jim and Jodie, son and daughter-in-law of Tucson, AZ; sister, Natalie Graham of Tucson, AZ; nephews, Bob Graham of San Francisco, CA, Bill Graham (Mary), and K.K. (Becky) of Tucson, John (JoAnne) Graham of Hemet, CA.; and four grandnephews of Tucson. She was a teacher at Alice Vail Junior High School from 1955 – 1981. NORBY, Rosella M., born October 1, 1921, in Exira, Iowa, passed away January 20, 1998 at University Medical Center in Tucson, AZ. Rosella moved to San Manuel in 1956 from Lead, South Dakota. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Carl C. Norby; children, Andrew (Barbara) Norby of Decatur, IN, Brenda (Richard) Cole of San Manuel, JoAnn (Alan) Kring of Michigan City, IN, James (Irene) Norby of Oracle, Roslyn (Bob) Steele of Littleton, Mass.; brothers and sisters, Kenneth Struble of Exira, IA, Dale Struble of Phoenix, AZ, Ronnie Struble of Hacienda Heights, CA, Jeaneane Beier of Westminister, CO, Ruth DiMauro of Westminister, CO; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. NORDBERG, Helen Duncho, born October 19, 1910, died January 17, 1998. Preceded in death by her husband John Nordberg. She is survived by daughter, Mary Ann Johnson; grandchildren, Eric, Karin and Alex Johnson; nieces, Dolores (John) Adamczyk, Barbara (Mark) Hartman; nephew, John (Cathy) Walko; numerous grandnieces, grandnephews and friends. Born in New Castle, PA, Helen lived over 50 years in Arizona. She devoted her faith filled life to service to family, church and community quietly making a difference in those lives she touched. Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 22, at HUDGEL’S SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 1335 N. Swan Rd. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 23 at St. Cyril Church, 4725 E. POLANCO, Rosendo ”Jenaro”, passed away January 12, 1998. The family would like to take this opportunity to extend our deepest thanks and appreciation for all the support, prayers, food, flowers, cards, comforting words and shared memories during our time of sorrow. We would also like to say Thank You to the musicians for the beautiful music and to all who attended the funeral services of our beloved husband, father and brother. REESE, DeElda Marie Wumkes, 100, retired real estate broker, died January 19, 1998. Born April 17, 1897 in Davis, SD, the daughter of John and Ella Sternborg Wumkes. Grew up in Grundy Center, IA and graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1915 and from Highland Park College in Des Moines, IA in 1918. married to Owen Reese Jr. on July 23, 1920. Preceded in death by her husband in 1938 and by her son, Owen Reese III, in 1997. Survived by her daughter, Eloise Reese Clymer and son-in-law John T. Clymer M.D. of Tucson; and daughter-in-law, Sally Kincaide Reese of Prospects Heights, IL; grandchildren, Scott Owen Reese (Sherry) of Glendale, CA, Diane Clymer Perry (William) of Boulder, CO, Brian Irvin Clymer (Patty) of Tucson, Lindsey Reese Cometa (James) of Ellicott City, MD, Bryn Reese Klovens (Dean) of Oak Park, IL, Julia Clymer Zandler (Thomas) of Phoenix, Todd Evan Reese (Carolyn) of Northbrook, IL, John Owen Clymer of Boulder, CO, Jason John Reese (Lauralee) of Arlington Heights, IL, Laura Clymer of Ruidoso, NM; and step-grandchildren, David Hill (Regina) of Felton, CA, Terry Hill Curtis (James) of Arlington Heights, IL, Susan Hill Kern (Ted) of Prospects Heights, IL; and 17 great-grandchildren. Known to those who loved her as Mae, Mom, Aunt Mae, Dee, Granny, Granny Reese, and Great Granny, she taught us the values of honesty, hard work and perseverance. She managed her husband’s grocery stores in Highland Park, IA after his death in 1938 until 1940. She then developed real property, building homes until wartime shortages interfered. For the next several years she worked for the federal government in Des Moines before transferring to Chicago in 1944 while her children attended Northwestern University. At the end of WWII she returned to real estate sales and was a member of the North Shore Board of Realtors in Evanston, IL from 1948 to 1954. She moved to Phoenix in 1954 and was a real estate broker there for 20 years before retiring in 1975 at the age of 78. Since that time she has been a resident of Tucson. Granny will be remembered for her sense of style and skill in design, her inclusive definition of ”family”, her intense interest in current affairs and sports, and the cookie jar she always kept filled for her great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held in Des Moines, IA on Saturday, January 24. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to Tohono Chul Park, 7366 N. RICKERT, Kathleen Ellen, 41, died January 19, 1998. Wife of Robert L. Rickert Sr. of Tucson; mother of Robert L. Rickert Jr., Kelly A. Rickert and Kevin S. Rickert all of Tucson. Sister of Robert W. Scott of Tucson; mother, Elenore Scott of Tucson also survive. Mass will be offered 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 1998 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7651 E. Pima. Interment to follow at Tucson Memorial Park Eastlawn. Vigil Service 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 23, 1998 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

Doris R. Stogsdill died January 17, 1998, after a valiant struggle with cancer. Doris was born January 26, 1925, in Hamdon, MI. Survived by daughter, Gwen (Scott) McKinney; son, Rev. Roger (Kimberly) Stogsdill; grandchildren, Seth and Ryan McKinney, and Tiffany and Adam Stogsdill. Also by her brothers, Eugene (Hertha) Roy and Harold (Hope) Roy; sisters, Ruth (Gerald) Williams and Alberta (Leonard) Hodo and many nieces and nephews. Doris served the First Brethren Church in Tucson for 29 years by the side of her husband of 45 years, Clarence Stogsdill, the minister of that church, Rev. Stogsdill preceded her to their Heavenly Home in May of 1992. In addition to her service to the church and to her family, she worked as the payroll supervisor and as secretary to the vice president in charge of finance of Krueger Manufacturing under the auspices of several parent companies from 1963 until 1990. Doris was an example to us through her steadfast faith in Jesus Christ, her faithfulness in prayer, and her constancy in love for her family. She was an avid reader, a true lady, and a quiet example of faith. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The First Brethren Church of Tucson, 210 N. Columbus Blvd., 85711 or the TMC Hospice. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 1998 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 23, 1998 at The First Brethren Church, 201 N. Columbus Blvd. Burial will be at East Lawn Palms Cemetery.

Blanche M. Caarls, age 88, born September 12, 1909, passed away January 18, 1998. She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Caarls, son-in-law, James E. Brooks and grandson James L. Brooks. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Brooks and Bobbie Lloyd and son-in-law Bill Lloyd. She is also survived by six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Blanche was a TUSD teacher for 25 years, then went on to volunteer 36, 000 hours at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was involved in a variety of organizations, including Catholic Daughters, Women’s Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, Retired Teachers, St. Ambrose Senior Citizens. Blanche received her masters at the University of Arizona. The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, 1998, at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME DODGE CHAPEL, (at Speedway). The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 21, 1998, at St. Ambrose Church, 300 S. Tucson Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the wonderful, caring Carondelet Hospice at St. Joseph’s, P.O. Box 13170, Tucson, AZ 85732-3170. Grandma, you will live on in our hearts and memories forever.

DUPNIK, Constance C, 91, died on January 17, 1998. She was preceded in death by her son, Edward Dupnik in 1952, and her husband Ed Dupnik in 1970.
She was born on November 12, 1906 in Panna Maria, Texas She moved with her family to Bisbee, Arizona in September of 1937 and had made her home there until years ago when failing health brought her to Tucson. She is survived by her sons, Gilbert (Beverly) Dupnik, Clarence (Susie) Dupnik, Michael (Clara) Dupnik of Tucson, Robert (Joan) Dupnik of Phoenix, and John (Faith) Dupnik of Grand Junction, Colorado. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7 PM and the Funeral Mass will be on Thursday 10:30AM at St. Patrick Church, Bisbee, Arizona. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, January 23, 7PM at St. Joseph Church in Tucson.

EIBER-JEIBER, James, 46, went home to be with our Lord, January 17, 1998 after an extended illness. He was born in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, November 20, 1951 and has been a resident of Tucson for the past 27 years. Jeiber was a local renowned artist in his own field of glass blowing. His work has been shown throughout the southwest. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert; and brother, Kevin. Survived by his loving wife, Karen; son, Jeremy (Mary); and four grandchildren; mother, Ida; brothers, Robert, Neal, David; and sister, Cheryl Foster. For 10 years he was a faithful volunteer at the Pima County Jail Ministry. Friends may call between 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus. Services 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at HEATHER MORTUARY CHAPEL. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery on N. Oracle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Family Care, 3443 E. Ft. Lowell, Tucson 85716 or R.A.C. (Pima County Jail Ministry) P.O. Box 951, Tucson 85702.

Imogene Colquitt (Gene) Frazer died January 15, 1998. She was born in Bonham, TX to Annie Lee and Eugene Colquitt on September 5, 1913. Predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Jim W. Frazer; and daughter, Mary Ann Abosketes. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Genematas (George) and Patricia Burroughs (Robert); six grandchildren, Nicholas G. (Cynthia), Gene Marie, James, Robert G. (Theresa) Genematas; Robert C. and Christopher Burroughs; five great-grand children, Melissa, Elizabeth, Jamie, and Gene Genematas and Danielle Burroughs; and her brother-in-law, J.V. Frazer of El Paso, TX; and nephews, J.V. Frazer Jr. of NM, and Guy (Peggy) Frazer of El Paso. Having made her home at the Life Care Center for almost four years, she received magnificent care and love from the Esperanza staff. Her family is so grateful to them. Ever devoted to her family and friends, she still found time to be of service to her community through the donation of thousands of hours of volunteer work at St. Joseph and UMC Hospitals. Memorial Service will be held at Chapel Christ the King, Wednesday, 11:30 a.m., January 21, 1998. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ”Those Who Care”, 3200 N. Los Altos, Tucson, AZ 85705. ”Nana” leaves behind her wealth of beautiful memories, a lot of laughter, and a lot of love. HAN, Rebecca C.L., teacher and scholar, beloved mother and grandmother, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 18, 1998. She is survived by her son, Samuel Wong; daughter-in-law, Patricia; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Daniel and Matthew. In our hearts she will always be with us. McCORMICK, Betty L., 70 died Saturday, January 17, 1998 in Morton, IL. She was born February 3, 1927 in East St. Louis, IL, to Lee Godbey and Tillie Minder who preceded her in death. Betty married William McCormick on May 12, 1944 in East St. Louis, IL. She is survived by her husband, William McCormick of Morton, IL; daughter, Donna Lee Coate of Tucson, AZ; son, Gary E. McCormick of East Peoria, IL; sister, Judy Nash of Morton, IL; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, one granddaughter, and one great-grandson. She was a member of the Morton United Methodist Church and a former member of Saddle Brooke in Tucson, AZ. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 21, 1998 at KNAPP-JOHNSON FUNERAL HOME, Morton, IL with Rev. David Babb officiating. Burial will take place at Roberts Cemetery, Morton, IL. Visitation, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, 1998 at KNAPP-JOHNSON FUNERAL HOME in Morton and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
