Brother of Marion Kubanet, Virginia Girard, and Ann Weir, all of Buffalo, NY. Grandfather of Robyn Bowman, Paul Snyder, and John C. Joyce. Great-grandfather of Ashley, Christian, Sara, and Lennert. Many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by wives, Eleanor R. and Mary M.; and sister, Rose. He was a WWII veteran, European Theatre, Asst. Postmaster of Buffalo, NY. COOK, Harry George, 82, died December 26, 1997. Husband of Margaret Cook. Father of S. Alan Cook and Ian B.M. (Lynette) Cook, both of Phoenix. Grandfather of Heather Cook, Channing Cook, Cameron Cook. Brother of Avis (George) Sharp of New Hampshire. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Service 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 29, 1997 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL. Burial will be in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. Cook was a Mason, Shriner, and member of BPOE 2532. He was a veteran of World War II, Korean Conflict. Preceded in death by a son, James Black Cook. He loved his wife, family, and country. GODINEZ, Socorro M., 83, of Tucson, passed away December 26, 1997. Preceded in death by beloved husband, Juan F. Godinez; and brother, Jesus A. Martinez. Survived by daughters, Beatrice G. (Alex) Leon, and Irma (Gary) Woodward; brothers, Francisco A. Martinez, and Victor A. Martinez. Also survived by seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and by numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 1997 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY, North Chapel, 204 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral. Mass will be offered on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. MARTIN, Thomas Charles, 69, died December 23, 1997. Tom was born in Tucson on January 10, 1928 at the Storks Nest. His parents were Jerome P. and Alice J. Martin whose families moved to Tucson in the early 1900's. He lived at their homestead at Pantano and Speedway and went to Wrightstown Elementary School. The family moved into town when he was in his teens. He graduated from Tucson High School and then enrolled at the University of Arizona. He was a member of Theta Chi fraternity and played percussion in the University Band and the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. He graduated from the College of Agriculture in 1950. Throughout his life he was interested in gardening and raising animals. He worked in the automotive service business for 25 years. He last worked as the service manager at Galloway Motors. He was a member of the RNAA for many years. He became disabled due to Multiple Sclerosis and retired to his his home on the Tanque Verde Creek. He spent his free time gardening, working on inventions and developing other business schemes. His last four years were spent at Handmakers Nursing Home. The family would like to thank all of the staff and care givers for making his life more comfortable during those years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jerome (Jerry) Jr. He is survived by Joyce ”Pete”, his wife of 48 years; two children and their spouses, Chuck (Krista) and Merri (Richard) Boston of San Diego and three grandchildren, Michael and Annie Martin and Chase Boston. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Joanne and four nieces. We will all miss you, Tom. Visitation will be held on December 30, 1997 at the ARIZONA MORTUARY CHAPEL, at 1:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Salvation Army or the Gospel Rescue Mission, his favorite charities. SLATTERY, Audrey O’Neill, died December 26, 1997 at her residence in Tucson. Survived by her husband, John J. Slattery of Tucson; children, John (Sherry) Slattery Jr. of Colorado; Nan Slattery of Gardena, California; Mark O’Neill (Joan) Slattery of Pukalanu, Maui; sister, Helene Nobel of Beach Haven, New Jersey; five grandchildren, Michael, David, Erin, Brian, Suzanne Slattery. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed by many relatives and friends in Tucson, Maryland, California, and New Jersey. WILSON, Helen B., of Tucson, formerly of Kansas and Missouri, passed away December 28, 1997 at the age of 77. She was married in 1943 to Eugene Wilson. Helen was a schoolteacher at TUSD for 21 years until her retirement. She is survived by her loving husband, Eugene; sons, Eugene Jr. (Wanda) Wilson of Tampa, FL, Larry (Elaine) Wilson of Tucson; and daughter, Linda Boling of Tucson. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd., Wednesday, December 31, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. with pastor Dale Jacobson officiating. Memorial donations may be made to TMC Hospice, 5301 E. Grant Rd., 85712 in Helen’s name. DALL AGLIO, Louis Peter, 69, died December 24, 1997. Husband of Moira Dall Aglio; father of Louise Beitel and Julie Dall Aglio both of Tucson; brother of Albert Dall Aglio of Kissimmee, FL and Adele Bianco of Inverness, FL; brother-in-law of Rose Dall Aglio of Tucson; uncle of Peter Dall Aglio; grandchildren, Kelsey Beitel and Stephen Louis Beitel also survive. He was a retired Chief Petty Officer, USN, member of Fleet Reserve Association, former machinist at U Of A Chemistry Department for 25 years. DAVIS, Mary M., 75, of Tucson, died December 20, 1997. Preceded in death by cousin, Billy Gene Eyrich. Eyrich, Catherine and Bill Jr. Eyrich and Margaret (Ed) Montano; two very dear friends, Caroline C. Hutton and Elizabeth Barsley. Mary will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. DAWSON, William (Bill), 73, of Tucson, AZ, died December 23, 1997. A loving husband, father and grandfather. Survived by wife, Catherine; daughters, Alice Jean (Frank) Chamblee, Maggie (Hector) Barraza, Mary (Art) Lewis, Sharon (Dale) Wallace, and Patricia (Giles) Cathorn; sons, William (Katie) Dawson and Michael Dawson; stepdaughters, Bonnie Weyrauch and Linda Tchao; 22 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; one surviving brother; and four sisters; many nieces and nephews. DELGADO, Cruz H., 74, of Arivaca, AZ, passed away December 20, 1997. Survived by uncle, Raul Delgado; sister-in-law, Gloria Delgado; brother-in-law, Jim Todd of Oklahoma; nieces, Mary Gloria Parker, and Lisa Delgado of CA, Yvonne Jennings, Roberta Lindroth of CA; nephews, Michael Todd, Timothy Todd, David Todd of Arivaca, Paul Delgado, Ray G. and Jerry Delgado; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 29, 1997 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY, South Chapel, 240 S. Stone Ave. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m at Santa Cruz Church, 1220 S. 6th Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Dr. Norbert John Gizinski, 47, of Tucson, died December 22, 1997. He is the beloved husband and father of wife, Martha; and children, Alison, Lauren, Christopher and William. Also surviving are his loving parents, Dr. Norbert and Jeanette Gizinski of Brecksville, OH; siblings, Puka (Dr. Roman) Lewicky of Flagstaff, AZ, Micki Chaney of Sedona, AZ, Michael Gizinski of Tucson, AZ and Denise (Jake) Jacobs of Monument, CO; four grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive. Norbert attended Hall of the Divine Child Military Academy, Monroe, MI; and graduated in 1968 from Gilmore Academy, Gates Mills, OH. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from John Carroll University, University Heights, OH, in 1975, and graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry, Cleveland, OH, in 1979. Dr. Gizinski was a member of the Southern Arizona Dental Society, the Arizona State Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He was also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, National Republican Committee and a 3rd Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Norbert was an avid sportsman and hunter and was a member of the National Rifle Association. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. @ Magee, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, December 28, 1997, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 8650 N. JoAnn E. Kirk (Jodi), 70, passed away December 24, 1997. She resided in Kansas for 30 years and while there attended Baker University. She was a 40 year resident of Tucson. She was very artistic and creative and for many years a member of the DeGrazia Art Guild. She is survived by husband, C. Russell Kirk; daughter, Robin Kirk; grandsons, Lucas and Russell Abeln; sister, Marvelle Dunaway; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Marcella Kirk. Jodi was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Jodi leaves behind a family and community enriched by her creative and devotion to others. She will be greatly missed by everyone. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 1997 at Tanque Verde Lutheran Church. Interment to follow at Tucson Memorial Park, East Lawn. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

Jesse A. Lundy, 82, of Tucson joined his Heavenly Father on December 24, 1997. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Edna; daughter, Jane Brett; son-in-law, Arthur; his grandsons, Joshua and Jesse all of Tucson; brother, Loren of Mission, KS; and nieces and nephews. He was born on a farm in Worth County, MO on October 25, 1915 and grew up in Savannah, MO where he had many fond childhood memories. Jesse and Edna were married August 22, 1942 in Riverside, CA with over 55 wonderful years together. During the Depression, he labored in the CCC. Later, he served overseas in England in the Eighth Air Corp during WWII. He graduated from Northwest Missouri State University and received his master’s degree from Iowa State University. ”Mr. Lundy” was a high school librarian in TUSD for many years. One of his cherished accomplishments was establishing the library at Sahauro High School from which he retired in 1979. He was a long-standing member of Broadway Christian Church in which he served as Board Chairman and Elder. Jesse was truly kind, affectionate, and honest throughout his lifetime. He held the highest of principles for himself and yet was very forgiving of others. He was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather, who will be greatly missed…until we meet again. We, his loved ones, feel in our hearts as Jesse himself so poetically wrote at his own father’s passing that ”Death that stills the voice and removes the touch of the hand can never sever the invisible bond of love, for it abideth forever–an attribute of God”. A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 1 997 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. He will be Laid to Rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Blockton, IA.

Socorro Morales, 56, of Tucson, AZ, died December 19, 1997. Survived by husband, Armando Morales Sr.; sons, Armando Jr. (Sally Marie) Theodore, John, Michael Morales; daughters, Maria V. (Nick) Cota, Frances, Genevieve Morales, Michelle (Jose) Coronell; 20 grandchildren; three sisters, Oliva G. Mendoza, Teresa (Tony) Enriquez, Martha (Urcinio) Salaiz; one brother, Jesus (Rosie) Soto; also survived by many nieces and nephews. PHILIPSON, Benjamin, 83, formerly of Tucson, died December 26, 1997 in Baltimore, MD. Preceded in death by wife, Syra Philipson (May, 1997). Survived by sons, Dr. Elliot H. (Sandra) Philipson of Cleveland, OH and Dr. Jonathan D. (Beth) Philipson of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Rebecca Philipson, Julia Philipson, Jordan Philipson and Ethan Philipson. RAAB, Robert E. Sr., born in Brazil, Indiana on February 12, 1920. Passed away peacefully December 23, 1997. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary; children, Ross V. (Linda) Raab, Robert E. (Sondra) Raab, Jr., Rosemary Cullen, John E. (Diane) Raab and JoEllen Bentjen. He is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Raab was affiliated with the Masonic Lodge, Builders #60, Scottish Rite, Free Masonary, Sabbar Shrine Temple (Blue Angels Unit and Ambassador). Also the B.P.O. Elks #385, Plumbers Union #741 and he was made an Honorary Kentucky Colonal. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 1997 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, with James Sebastian officiating. ROBINSON, Mary, age 95 of Tucson, died December 25, 1997. Survivors include one son, two daughters, nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
