Lucrecia Zepeda, died on December 3, 1997 at the age of 93. Miss Zepeda was preceded in death by her father, Don Antonio Zepeda Y. Suastegui and by her mother, Dona Maria Martinez de Zepeda; three brothers, Carlos, Medardo (Fidelia Elias), Antonio (Olga Baron); three sisters, Beatriz (Francisco Morales), Julieta (Alfonso Hubbard), Rebeca (Roberto Dailey) and is survived by one sister, Laura (Roy Thompson). Miss Zepeda was a descendant of Colonizers of New Spain. Through her grandmother, Maria Suastegui de Zepeda, she was the great-great-great-granddaughter of Jose Ignacio Moraga, Commander of the Presidio of Tucson in 1791 and the great-great-granddaughter of Salvador Moraga, the last Commander of the Presidio of Tubac. When Tucson, Sonora, was annexed by the Gadsden Purchase the family moved to the Presidio of Altar, Sonora, where Miss Zepeda was born. With the rumblings of the Mexican Revolution, the family returned to Arizona Territory where her father owned the Suacito Ranch in Arivaca. Miss Zepada was employed for many years as a department manager for the former Jacome’s Department Store. For many years she was involved with the Holy Family Church when it was under the auspices of the Camelite Order of Cataluna, Spain. There she was active as a choir member and in the Club Santa Teresita. Miss Zepeda was a favorite aunt of many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Her nieces and nephews were, Elda Dupont (William, Alfia Hutchinson (Kenneth), Herman Morales (Jacqueline), Oscar-Ernesto Morales(Patricia), Lydia Morton (Clyde), Veronica Beamer (John), Alex Hubbard (Mae), Jean Fiest (Charles), Barbara Fleming (Francis), Elsa Fimbres (Fernando), Sylvia Garaygordobil (Jesus) and Robert Dailey - deceased; also, 28 great nieces and nephews and 21 great-great-nieces and nephews and dearest friends, Lynne and Robert Peterson. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:00 a.m. Saturday at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church by Fr. Donald Fiedler. Friends may call Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home. BRYSON, Martha Ballantyne, passed away December 3, 1997 at the age of 93. Originally from Scotland, she came to the USA in 1927 and moved to Tucson in 1968. She is preceded in death by husband, Alexander Bryson and son, William Bryson. She is survived by granddaughters, Susan Bryson Fox (Kevin), and Robin Buscemi (Frank); and great-grandchildren, Michael T. Brooks, Rebecca B. Fox, and David B. Fox; daughter-in-law, Joan Bryson. She was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, Tucson Scotch Club, Eastern Star and Daughters of Scotia. A Memorial Service will be held at the Vineyard, located at 625 N. 2nd Ave. on Saturday, 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Tucson Medical Center Hospice.

LINDSEY, Veva Anthony, 91, died on December 2, 1997. Survived by son, Frank A. (Barbara); daughter, Marilyn Lindsey Mullins; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark (1989). Mrs. Lindsey taught for several years after graduating from the University of Missouri. Dwight was born on August 7, 1928 in Iowa and passed away on November 30, 1997. Beloved husband of Marjorie, having celebrated their 49 anniversary on November 26. There are five children, Marie and David from Tucson, Carol and Bonnie from Tennessee and Donna from Idaho. Grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of four. In the service of his Lord, Dwight was a father figure to many young people through his leadership in Christian Service Brigade, Child Evangelism, as an instructor in the NRA, and life long service to the Baptist Church here and in Camp Verde. Dwight has touched hundreds of lives and will be loved and missed always.

ALLEE, Fayette Franklin, age 92, formerly of Tucson, died on December 2, 1997 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, Leona Violet Allee of Tahlequah; one daughter, Margaret Anne Ekstrom of Tahlequah; one brother, Thomas M. Allee of Van Nuys, California; one sister, Ima N. Hersinger of Pueblo, Colorado; one grandson, Kenneth Franklin Ekstrom of Nicaragua; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Richards of Glendale, Arizona. Also surviving are two great-grandsons, Joshua Alejandro Ekstrom and Micael David Ekstrom, both of Nicaragua. Mr. Allee devoted 60 years of his life in caring for, and teaching of the hearing and sight impaired. Forty two years was spent at the Arizona State School of the Deaf and Blind, and after his retirement, he volunteered 18 years of service, which he spent teaching at the Tucson Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. BALL, Anne Van Deusen, 81, of Tucson, died Wednesday, December 3, 1997. She is survived by her husband, Donald Ball; daughters, Judyth (James Lootens) Miller, Elizabeth (William) Smith, Edith (Marv) Drouillard; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Christine; brothers, Edward, Peter, and Thomas. Mrs. Ball retired in 1975 after 24 years of service with Chrysler Corporation. She was a member of the Rialto Woman’s Club in Rialto, CA and the Gulf Shores Woman’s Club in Gulf Shores, AL.
