Eugene Wood
-For Daddy-
July 18, 1929 – January 17, 1998
Words from the hearts of his four children Bill, Cheryl, Carren, and Brad
This wonderful man, who in his heart and in his hands held our world; He left us on Saturday, January 17, 1998. He was special more than words could ever express. We want to shout it out to the world. We wish that everyone on earth could have known him and loved him as we do. We wish that every child could have such a wonderful and perfect father as he was. He gave us every ounce of his strength. He worked hard for our welfare. He protected us. He loved us with all of our imperfections and with every ounce of his being. He gave us music and laughter through his voice, the enjoyment of good food for our bodies, every now and then a healthy round of profanity for our ears. Most of all he filled our lives with his very being. He was beyond a husband to our mother. He was more than her best friend. He was more than her soul mate. He was more than she could have ever asked for in a husband. He was larger than life to all of us and the kind of man that was created in the perfect image of God, as much as is humanly possible. When you read this go to your loved ones, hug them, hold them, tell them you love them. Our father showed us that this is what our lives on earth are meant to be.
We are determined to celebrate his life for ever more in all that we are and all that we do.
Eugene is survived by his beautiful loving wife, Shirley; his sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Deb and Brad and Diana; his daughters and son-in-law, Carren and Jeff Laos and Cheryl and George Comerci; his grandchildren who adored him and whom he lived for, Shirley, Shannon, Westly, Andrew, Jeff, Joshua, Daniel, Jarred, Brian, Jordan, Justin all of Tucson; his brother, Roy Wood form St. Louis; his sisters, Juanita Robello from San Francisco, Mary Lou Perkins and Rosina Strong from St. Louis.
