Ulloa; sister-in-law, Elizabeth; niece, Cristina; and nephew, Robert, all of Phoenix. Committal Service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at Holy Hope Mausoleum, 3555 N. Oracle. BESS, W.W. ”Bill” Jr., 72, of Tucson, died March 7, 1998. He is survived by sons; Robert (Cynthia) Bess of Gainesville, TX and William (Theresa) Bess of Tucson; grandchildren, Ann Marie and James W. Bess also of Tucson; and brother, Thomas D. Bess of Tulsa, OK. Mr. Bess was a World War II Veteran, a Commandant of Oklahoma Military Academy and a Tucson businessman for over 20 years. COLEMAN-MARTENS, Linda P., 45 years old, died Friday, March 6, 1998 in Tucson. Born on August 29, 1952 in Russell County, Alabama. Survived by her parents, Chester and Katie Coleman of Tucson. DANCIL, Cruz Y., age 71, passed away March 9, 1998 in Tucson. Born February 28, 1927 in Wilmington, CA. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Frank; sons, Frank Jr. and David Dancil; five grandchildren, Gwen, Megan, Noah, Janelle and Adam; niece, Belinda and her daughter, Breigh; two brothers, Daniel and Joe Yanez; sister, Sally Salas. Survived by son, Larry Nathan Deutsch of Chicago, IL; daughter, Francine Silver Deutsch of Tucson; grandchildren, Loren Hart Deutsch (Jason Harris), Cathy Deutsch, Leigh Deutsch, all of Chicago, Ronald Scott (Rollis) Hyman of Tucson, Kenneth Ross (Mary-Lyn) Hyman of Los Angeles, CA, Lynne Stacey (Thomas William) Warne of Bellevue, WA; step-grandchildren, Jody (David) Jones of Flagstaff, Lynn Ann (William) Sivilli of Pompano Beach, FL, David Scott Reiner of Tucson; great-grandchildren, Matthew Jacob Hyman, Daniel Alexander Hyman, Jennifer Leigh Warne, Emily Kathryn Warne, Gertie Koufax Harris, from whom she derived great pleasure; step-great-grandchildren, Joshua David Jones, Nicholas Jones, Lauren Sivilli and Rachel Sivilli; one niece and two nephews. Born in Kiev, Russia, daughter of the late Alexander and Freda Silver, Mrs. Deutsch was brought to this country at six months of age where her family settled in South River, NJ. She graduated from South River High School and attended college. In 1945 she and her family moved to Tucson for her health. She was a life member of Hadassah and was once honored as Woman of the Year. She was active in the Sisterhood of Congregation Anshei Israel; member of Tucson Medical Center Auxiliary; and a member of Tucson Symphony Women's Association and Eastern Star. She was an avid Patron of the Arts. Services Thursday, 12:00 p.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile with Rabbi Arthur R. Oleisky and Cantor Ivor Lichterman officiating. Interment at Congregation Anshei Israel Section, Evergreen Cemetery. Elizabeth ”Betty” Drummond, 79, of Tucson, died March 8, 1998 at her home. Born June 2, 1918 to Ward and Dona Biddle, she has a younger sister, Nancy. Betty served in the Army from 1942 to 1944. She graduated from D.T. Watson School of Physical Therapy in Loetsdale, PA in 1943. Betty married Donald F. Drummond on August 31, 1944 in Bloomington, IN and lived in Ann Arbor, MI from 1945 till 1994. Betty was involved in many community activities. In 1994 she moved to Tucson to be closer to her son and his family. Betty is preceded in death by her husband and both parents. She is survived by son, Robert (Kimberly) Drummond and their daughter, Chelsea of Tucson; sister, Nancy (Gene)Seidel of Gleneden Beach, OR. Memorial Service will be 7:00 p.m. Saturday at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, additional services will be held in Ann Arbor, MI and Interment in Bloomington, IN. DUNDORE, Elise Tilly - this is a loving tribute to she who blessed this Earth and our lives. She was born June 8, 1909 and passed on March 8, 1998 into our Lord's care. She will always be remembered lovingly for bringing her special gifts into our lives. She loved beautiful things. She'll be remembered for her paintings, sewing, and cooking wonderful meals for our family gatherings. She loved music, played cards and loved to be surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Helen and Frederich Ehrsam and sister Helen MacArthur. Elise is survived by her husband, Claude Wilhelm Dundore; daughter Rosalie D.Stoner and step-son Claude W. Dundore, Jr. and sister Edme Goll. Grandchildren: Deborah Stoner, Brian Stoner, Robert Stoner and Constance Jolivet. Great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Enrico, Nicole Stoner, Clayton Stoner, and Caelan Jolivet. She is remembered and missed by her whole family for being such a strong influence in all our lives. A memorial service will be held at Catalina Methodist Church on Friday March 13, 1998 in the Fellowship Hall at 2 pm. (2700 E. Speedway Blvd). EATON, Janet Isobel, age 84, died Saturday, March 7, 1998. She is survived by one son, Rick Eaton (Gloria) of Tucson; three grandchildren, Nancy, Edith, and Richard, all of Tucson; and by many friends in the Tucson area. Mrs. Eaton was a member of the Catalina United Methodist Church, 2700 E. Speedway, The Order of Eastern Star in Deer Lodge, Montana and Delta Kappa Gamma in Montana. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 1998 in the main sanctuary of the Catalina United Methodist Church with Dr. Hal Cowart officiating. The family suggests that donations may be made to the Northwest Interfaith Center, 851 W. Chapala Dr. 85704, in lieu of flowers. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Joan Marie Errico
Loving wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend, took her place at the side of our Lord on March 7, 1998.
Born Joan Marie Sonntag on August 17, 1946 in Washington, D.C.
She is survived by her loving husband, Greg Errico; her daughters, Christa Coyle, Christine Grimes, Michele Errico, Melissa Hatcherson; and her sons, Marcus Errico and Charles Kendrick; and her grandchildren, Christopher, Kinsey, Jillian and Coby.
Her loving and generous spirit will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, March 13, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Mother of Sorrows, 1800 S. Kolb Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joan's name to Our Mother of Sorrows.

GRAND, Virginia G., 76, of Tucson, died March 10, 1998. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Paul; children, Patricia Jones, Shirley (John) Gresehover, Susan (Charles) Hunsanger, Paul M. Grand, and Jennifer (Ken) Walker. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son-in-law, Al. Mrs. Grand retired from IBM in 1985. Her greatest love was her husband and family. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Pius X Church, 1800 N. Camino Per Decimo on Saturday, March 14, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carondelet St. Joseph's Hospice, 350 N. Wilmot, Tucson, AZ 85711. HICKMAN, Edith, age 99, of Tucson, passed away February 26, 1998. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry T.; and son, Robert Yarding; and is survived by children, Ardis La Vasseur, James M. Yarding, and Shirley Jean Robertson; sister, Dorothy Houde; brothers, Emery and Kenneth Netzel; and many grand and great grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 1998 at Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements by ARIZONA MORTUARY.

MURPHY, Dorothy Woodside, born in Portland, Oregon, January 28, 1914, passed away unexpectedly on March 8, 1998. She was the widow of Joseph A. Murphy, former California Superior Court Judge. She is survived by her two sons, John A. Murphy of Irvine, CA and William M. Murphy of Sausalito, CA. Mrs. Murphy retired to Skyline Bel Air Estates in the Tucson Foothills in 1965, several years after the death of her husband. Her constant companion while she lived in Arizona, Orme Hering, had recently passed away. Mrs. Murphy spent most of her adult life in California, living in Oakland and Piedmont. Before her marriage, she pursued a career as a fashion model in San Francisco. She continued modeling for charities after her marriage in 1939 to Judge Murphy. Memorial Services will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd., Tucson, on Friday, March 13 at 2:00 p.m. Flowers may be sent to the above address, donations may be sent to the Humane Society or to the charity of choice.

Paul Gorden Neal - Paul's professional training included architectural design and civil engineering. He and his wife, Honora, moved to Tucson 65 years ago. He worked for the Pima County Assessor's office as Chief-Deputy Evaluation Engineer. After retirement in 1973, Paul was able to pursue his hobbies and interests full-time. Throughout his career, he designed and built three permanent homes and three vacation homes. He was a prolific artist. The walls of his home are adorned with oil paintings that reveal his love of western America's open spaces. Those open spaces he knew well. Many hunting and fishing expeditions enabled him to explore and experience the awesome beauty of wilderness. A humanist by nature, Paul Neal will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Honora; son, daughter, and three grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 14, at 3:00 pm at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. at Magee.

RODRIGUEZ, Victor Ricardo, 69, died March 10, 1998. After a long battle with cancer. He's at home with Our Lord. He is survived by his loving wife, Lolita; and sons, Victor (Julia), Edward (Jane), Roland, Raymond (Lee); daughters, Elvia (Bill) Roche, Sylvia (Larry) Twigg; and wonderful grandchildren, Thomas, Daniel and Jaclyn Roche, Elizabeth, Victor and David Rodriguez, Sarah Jane and Megan Rodriguez, Alyssa and Garett Twigg; brother of Ernest (Hortencia), Ernestina Albanez, Lupe Reinier and Rosa (Richard) Andreotta. Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m., and Mass will be offered at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 1998 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft Rd. Burial will be in Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery. Mr.Rodriguez was a Veteran of the Marine Corps and was on the Board of Directors of Beacon Foundation, a Cursillista, and member of the St. Joseph's Folk Choir. Donations may be made in Mr. Rodriquez's Memory to Beacon Foundation, 25 E. Drachmann, Tucson 85705 or St. Joseph's Folk Choir, c/o Marty Ward. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. ROSTHENHAUSLER, Mercedes C., 81, of Tucson, AZ, passed away on March 10, 1998 with her family gathered around. Preceded in death by husband, Ramon Rosthenhausler. Survived by her children, Hortensia (Clem), Ray (Pat), Paul ”Baby” (Lupe), Richard, Maryann (Chapo); 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also survived by many other family members and friends. Visitations will be held on Thursday, March 12, 1998 at 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Full Service at St. John's Catholic Church, on Friday, March 13, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

Mary Kingsland Smith Sisson, 97, died peacefully March 10, 1998. Mary was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, December 19, 1900. Her husband, John W. Sisson, preceded her in death August 18, 1934. Although born in Minnesota, Mary spent most of her younger years in New York City. She loved the fine arts, often attending operas at the Metropolitan and concerts at the Carnegie Hall. She was artistic. In New York City she took art lessons and had permission to copy art masterpieces at the Metropolitan Art Museum without guards watching her. Mary spent her married life in Titisville and Indian River City, Florida. Mary traveled extensively after her husband's death. She spent time in pre-World War II days with her uncle Fritz Gilfillen, who was a concert violinist in Bavaria, Germany. Mary escaped from Europe on one of the last commercial steamships leaving Europe in 1941. Mary moved to Tucson around 1950 because of her humidity asthma. She loved guest ranches and horseback riding. She loved Mt. Lemmon and for years made weekly trips there to go hiking. She loved photography and was a long time member of the Tucson Camera Club and received several prizes for her photographic work. She belonged to the ”Alliance Francaise” and spoke French fluently up to her death. Mary was a long time member of Grace St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She is survived by her dear friend and guardian, B. Wayne Randall; her dear friend and conservator, Betsy Conner, their families who grew to know and love Mary; her faithful housekeeper of many years, Liz Tabb; dear friends, Carol McBride, Gizelle Nelson, Elma Lauper and others. Mary is remembered by all who knew her as a ”sweet lady”. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 2331 E. Adams. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant.

Father of Yvette Contreras, Richard Benitez, Veronica and Anthony Pierce; son of Frank Benitez; brother of Lorraine Leon, Leticia Cota, Roddy Felix; nephew of Dora Castano, Julieta Quijada, Ernestina Lopez, Celia Bojorquez, Henry Yanez.
