Attended Phillips University in Enid. Lived and worked in Enid until she moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1960 and married her husband, Lee Driscoll. She and Lee worked in Oklahoma City until his death in 1971. Moved to Tucson in 1991 to be with her daughter. Preceded in death by her sister, Donna Ruth and by her husband. Survived by her sister, Madge E. Stewart of Delaware, Ohio; and her children, Judy Stiver of Tucson and Lee Wickline of Austin, Texas. Four surviving grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. LASH, D. Ralph, 94, born February 14, 1904; went to join his Lord February 21, 1998. WILLIFORD, Miriam, died February 20, 1998 in Tucson, AZ after a brief illness. Born March 26, 1926 in Rock Hill, SC, daughter of Samuel Elliot Williford and Lillie Mae Parrish Williford, she was a graduate of Winthrop College, with a M.A. from the University of North Carolina and a Ph.D. in Latin American History from Tulane University. Miriam became a Professor of History at Winthrop College, where she specialized in Latin American History, authored the definitive book ”Jeremy Bentham in Spanish America” and later became Dean of Continuing Education. In 1979, after working with the Ford Foundation and the BBC in NYC, she was recruited by Chancellor Henry Koffler to direct the Division of Continuing Education at the University of Massachusetts. In 1980 she was named to direct the Chancellor's Working Group on Economic Development and also became Associate Provost for Continuing Education and Public Service. Under her leadership the Division succeeded in serving nearly 15, 000 adult nontraditional students per year in undergraduate courses, Master's degree programs, professional development, and in performing community outreach in economic development. She was also active in the National University Continuing Education Association, and served as President. In 1995 she retired to her home in her dearly loved Tucson, and its mountains. She is survived by her beloved sister and family: Mary Frances Williford Boozer, niece, Mary Boozer Neece and her family, nephew, John Boozer and his family of Greensboro, NC; her dear friends, Peggy Haskel and Paula Treder of Tucson; and many other loyal friends and colleagues throughout the country. She will be grievously missed for her good mind, her sense of fun, her great love of adventure, and her stalwart friendship. Graveside Services will be held at Gilmore Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensboro, NC, Wednesday, February 25, 1998 with a Memorial Service to be scheduled in Tucson at a later date. LISTER, David ”Fritz” P., age 61, of Tucson, died suddenly February 18, 1998. David, formerly from Winooski, Vermont was born on November 9, 1936. He is survived by his longtime sweetheart of 36 years, Barbara Laballee; two sons, Daryl (Stephanie) and Dustin Lister; five daughters, Darla (Albert) Corella, Deanna (Rene) Gonzales, Dawnette, Dana and Danielle Lister; four grandsons, Tyler, Andrew and Aaron, his Angel Ryan preceded him in death; six granddaughters, Victoria, Teresa, Nekolle, Andrina, Alejandra and Rachel; two sisters, Ann (Gerald) Greene and Helen (Walter) Burbo; adoring sister-in-law, Jacqualine ”Tet” Laballee; 14 first generation nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his father, Charles D. Lister in 1953 and mother Marion Lister in 1998. David served in the U.S. Air Force, active duty, and was honorably discharged in 1957. He later served in the Vermont Air National Guard. He was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, (V.F.W.). After 19 years of exemplary service as a manager for IBM Burlington, he was medically retired. David, fondly known as ”Fritz” was an active member of the community in Winooski, Vermont, where he unselfishly devoted countless hours coaching and mentoring the youth in Church Youth Organizations (CYO) and little league. His extreme athletic knowledge provided him with the skills to referee and umpire various scholastic and community leagues. Fritz's caring nature and devotion was shown by his support of academic and athletic excellence during his tenure as Chairman of the Winooski School Board. A testimonial held in his honor was a warm indication of the high esteem held by the many people whose lives he touched. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. NEURATH, Lilly E., born November 6, 1900, passed away February 2, 1998, after a brief illness. Born in Hungary, she spent her youth in Vienna with her late husband, Dr. Herbert Neurath. During WWII they settled in the U.S. Both were professional musicians. Music was their life. Lilly was a gentle, fine woman who will be remembered by her few surviving friends and devoted caregiver, Kathy Atteberry. WEAVER, John A., 77, of Tucson, died February 16, 1998 after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two sons, John Weaver, in Medina, OH, Richard Weaver, in Vermilion, OH; one daughter, Karen S. Martin, in Tucson; six grandchildren, Christopher Weaver, Jeffrey Weaver, Amy Weaver, Bryan Weaver, Kristin Martin and Joshua Martin; and two great-grandchildren. John had a great love of airplanes and he spent most of his time building the exact models of all kinds of aircraft. He has exhibited them all over the country at conventions. He has some exhibited at the Pima Air Museum, Tucson, AZ. He was a member of the International Modelers Plastic Society, and the local IMPS.
