GREEN, Theresa, 84, of Tucson, passed away February 7, 1998. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Otto Neimeyer, and William Austin Green; sister, Mary Radtke; brother, John Erdely; and daughter, Judith Galdikas. She is survived by her daughter, Trudi (Arnie) Stawick of Alto, Michigan; son, David A. (Susan) Green of Tucson; brother, George (Mary) Erdelyi of South Holland, IL; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; six nieces and nephews; and special friends, Norma and Robert Mentzer of Tucson. Theresa was a longtime volunteer member of the Tucson Medical Center Auxiliary and was a member of the VMCCA Coyote Chapter Car Club of Tucson. She was born in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Tucson in 1974. Her greatest achievement in life was being a beautiful, warm, and loving person to everyone she met. Good Bye Theresa. HNILO, Anna (Annie), died February 7, 1998 at the age of 81. Widow of Robert Hnilo Sr. and mother of five. Annie was a devoted wife and mother who shared with her family and friends her sense of wonder and joy. Always an optimist, she chose to focus on the bright side. Lover of nature and the human spirit. She will be remembered for her ready smile and kind words. Seriously ill for the past seven years, she spent the last three years in the loving care of the Esperanza Unit of Life Care Center of Tucson to which her family expresses their gratitude. She is survived by her five children, Robert Jr., Richard, George, James, and Rose; as well as nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A native of Chicago, Annie moved to Tucson 22 years ago and loved the desert and her life in Southern Arizona. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Desert Museum in memory of Anna Hnilo. A Scripture Service will be held Tuesday, February 10, 1998 at 7:00 p.m. with Fr. LYNCH, Marion A., 96, of Melrose, MA, was called to her heavenly reward in Wolfeboro, NH, on January 29. Beloved wife of the late John J. Lynch. Mother of Jack Lynch (John J.) of Tucson and Barbara Flynn (Alfred) of Melrose, MA. Grandmother of John J. Lynch III (Dawn) of Tucson, Catherine Awe (Mark), Michael, Stephen, Mary Ann and Peter, all formerly of Tucson and now of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, NM. Great-grandmother of Nicole and Justin Awe, Brian Lynch of Albuquerque and John J. Lynch IV of Tucson, as well as other grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews in New England. A celebration of her life was held at the Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield, MA, on February 2, 1998.

MAYO, Betty W., 73, died February 5, 1998. Mother of Jim Mayo of Port Alberni, BC; Linn Wilson of Pollack Pines, CA; and Edgar Wilson of Greenville, CA. MESKIMEN, Mitchell Greer, 44 years old, died Wednesday, February 4, 1998 in Tucson. Born November 11, 1953 in Nashville, Tennessee. Survived by two sisters, Susan Alexander of Daytona Beach, FL and Jill Baker of Nashville, TN; nieces and nephews. No Services are planned. Family suggest memorials may be made to Humane Society. PETERSON, Opal E., 81, of Tucson, AZ, died February 6, 1998. Survived by daughter, Kathleen (Howard) Shipman; grandson, Frank (Missy) Shipman; granddaughter, Kristine (Frankie) Dorame; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Willa, Hazel, Nancy; brothers, Donald, Tommie. PORTER, Jessie M., 84, of Tucson, accepted her cross with courage and peace on February 6, 1998 at the Hospice Unit of TMC. She was welcomed into heaven by God, her father and husband Charles LeRoy. Born in Calumet, MI August 30, 1913 and resided in Tucson since 1953, Jessie was a post mistress in the late 1930s and loving mother, grandmother, and wife. She and Charles enjoyed traveling, camping, and fishing. Survivors include daughters, Margaret Saito (Hashime) and Charlotte Slanaker (James); grandchildren, Laura Mineer (Jeff), Lucretia Wacks (Alfred), and William Slanaker; great-grandchildren, Sonia Mineer, Courtney Slanaker, Autumn, Amber, and Ashley Wacks.
The family wishes to thank our wonderful friends for their loving support. We also thank the health care professionals for their compassionate care of our loved one. Funeral Mass Tuesday, February 10, 8:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 5150 N.Valley View Road. Interment to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, February 9, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 East Grant Road. Pallbearers: James Slanaker, William Slanaker, Jeff Becher, Laura Mineer, and Lucretia Wacks. Jessie's strength, character, and wit were admired by all. 'Life will never be the same without you. You will live on forever in our hearts and memories. We love you, darling.'

Jack A. Ramirez, 32, of Tucson, passed away on February 4, 1998. Survived by his beloved wife, Kathy; loving children, Joaquin, Tatiana Victoria and Jackie; aunt, Carmen Alverez; father, David Ramirez (Margie); mother, Eva Ramirez; sisters, Christina and Patricia Ramirez. As a respected member and employee of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe of AZ, Jack will be remembered for his strength, wisdom and courage. His goal was to improve the health and welfare of his people.
Visitation to begin at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 1998, at Cristo Rey Church with Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 11, 1998 at Cristo Rey Church, (Pascua Pueblo). Burial to follow at Monte Calvario Cemetery. Jack's smile and loving nature will be missed by his many friends whose lives he touched. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus Blvd.

ROTH, Alice Evelyn, 82, died February 3, 1998. Survived by her sons, Michael Edward (Patricia Lynn) and Douglas (Carol) Roth; two grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Michael, August of 1997. Alice was a member of the U.O.T.S. #71, VFWA #549 and a longtime Sears employee of St. Louis, MO. WOOD, Robert W., 95, passed away February 5, 1998 in Tucson. Mr. Wood was born August 27, 1902 in Farmersburg, Indiana. Survived by two sons, Dona (Velma) Wood of Tucson, Robert (Janet) Wood of Lakewood, CO; one daughter, daughter, Dorothy (Edward) Wood of Lakewood, CO; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Wood, who in 1917 at age 15 was a Boy Scout, was called on to be an Honor Guard at Buffalo Bill Cody who was lying in state at the Denver capitol. He loved to build and hand carve items for Hope United Methodist Church where he was a member since 1982. Mr. Wood also built ski areas in Colorado and was the Mayor of Gramby for 12 years. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 11, 1998 at Hope United Methodist Church, 6740 S. Santa Clara at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 10 at WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Entombment will be at East Lawn Cemetery. CARLIN, Philip Randolph, 82, of Tucson, AZ, died Wednesday, February 4, 1998. Always the exemplary patriarch. He guided and protected his family throughout his life time and during his death. His wit charm, high moral character, poise and intellect served him well on his journey to a very successful life. Indeed he was as articulate as any college professor. A top amateur tennis player in the state of California during his youth, Philip was an avid sports fan. Known affectionately by friends and family as 'Gramps'. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. There will be a noticeable void next to the home team dugout at Canyon Del Oro High School baseball games this spring. He is preceded in death by Arlene Carlin, wife for 55 years. He is survived by daughters, Judy (Bob) Wright and Sheila (Bob) Sissung; grandchildren, Rob (Linda) Wright, Phil (Debi) Wright, Jeff (Alisa) Sissung and Amy (Mike) Leveque; great-grandchildren, Lacey, K.C., Riley, Makenzie, Cole, Cory and Delaney. GREENWALT, Verna E., 83, of Tucson, passed away February 4, 1998. Survived by daughters, Vernita Burris (Buster) and Sandra Boehm; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 8, 1998 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (Center Chapel), 240 S. MCCONNELL, Stella Mae Callopie, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 1998 at the age of 77. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and friend. Stella was born August 5, 1920 in Sprague, WV to John and Madeline Callopie. She attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, WV where she also attended Beckley College. Stella was a telegraph operator for Western Union working throughout West Virginia, andduring WWII in Washington, DC. She married John Wesley McConnell, Jr. in 1951. She retired from Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital in 1980 and moved to Tucson, AZ where she resided for 13 years making many friends in her community and the Emmanuel Baptist Church. She moved to Albuquerque in 1993 where she was a member of the Sandia Baptist Church. She is survived by her four children, Dr. Vicki S. McConnell and husband, Phillip Charette, of Madison, WI; Donna G. McConnell of Albuquerque, NM, Dr. Wesley W. McConnell and wife, Pamela of Chattanooga, TN and Anita K. McConnell of Albuquerque, NM; two grandchildren, Sarah Nicolle and Evan Wesley McConnell of Chattanooga, TN; sister, Helen Parkulo of Sprague, WV; sister-in-law, Ruth Calliope Nicewarner of Hagerstown, MD; and a host of nieces and nephews. A celebration of Stella's life was held January 31, 1998, at Manzano Del Sol Good Samaritan Village, Albuquerque, NM with Chaplain Rita DeVore officiating. A reception followed the service. Remembrance donations may be made in Stella's name to the Presbyterian Hospice Impatient Unit, c/o Presbyterian Health Care Foundation, P.O. Box 26666, Albuquerque, NM 87125-6666, or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 505 N. Parkway, Memphis, TN 38101. The family would like to thank the staff of Presbyterian Hospice for their tender, loving care of our mother and express our gratitude for all the love, care and compassion that has been shown to us by family and friends. Stella's star will shine in our hearts and memories always.

MUMMA, Colgan T. 'Bud', 89 of Tucson, AZ, died February 6, 1998. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Adamae McCoy.
Born in Farmington, NM in 1908, he was the son of Charles Colgan and Jessie Thomas Mumma. He graduated from Antioch College in 1931 with an AB degree in Business Administration. He was with Dennison Mfg. Co. of Framingham, MA for 38 years. He resigned from Dennison to become President and Chairman of the Board of Design Pak in Marlboro, MA, retiring in 1974. He and his wife moved to Tucson from Framingham, MA in 1985. His associations include the Rotary Club, Red Cross, Framingham Civic League, National Gift Wrapping Association and National Paper Box Association.
Bud is survived by a son, Gordon Mumma of Santa Cruz, CA; a daughter, Karen Palmer of Framingham, MA; two grandsons, Christopher and Jonathan Mumma; and a granddaughter, Alexis Palmer; two brothers, Richard Mumma of Farmington, NM and LeMoyne Mumma of Riverside, CA; two sisters, Nedra Cook of Santa Fe, NM and Miriam Taylor of Farmington, NM. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

RAMSEY, Noel Clinton 'Cooter', 83, of Tucson, died February 6, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 58 1/2 years, Lorena; daughters, Gay (Mike) Hawley and Jan (Danny) Hansen; brothers, Pete and Bill Ramsey; grandchildren, Rage (Nina) Hawley, Shawna Hansen an Ryan Hansen; as well as many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mozelle and brother, O.A. 'Cooter' lived in Morenci for 23 years and Tucson for 35 years and was a longtime employee of Phelps Dodge Copper Company. He was an active member o the Masonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star and affiliated with the Athletic Department at the U of A. He was an Elder in the Casas Adobes Baptist Church and at this time was a member of Vistoso Community Baptist Church. A Celebration of life will be held at Casas Adobes Baptist Church Chapel, 2131 W. Ina Road at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 1998. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in 'Cooter's' name to The University of Arizona Foundation/Wildcat Club scholarship fund, P.O. ROSIO Dolores L., 72, of Tucson, died February 3, 1998. Survivors include three children, Timothy John, Michael William and Kara Louise; one grandchild, Andrew Rosio of Newport Beach, CA; two brothers, Frank and Fred Lauerman; and one sister, Clare Wingfield. Dolores was retired from AT&T as a phone operator and was active in the Telephone Pioneers of America. She will be greatly missed by all her loving family and friends. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, February 8, 1998, Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Mass will be at St. Peter and Pauls Church with Father Wagner officiating.
