LEE, Marie L., 94, passed away Monday, January 26, 1998. She is survived by one nephew, Larry Nulty of Naples, FL; and many friends in the Tucson area. Mrs. Lee was a member of the St. Joseph Church. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 1998, at St.Joseph Church, 215 S. Craycroft Rd. MACK, Mildred Alice, 87, died January 26, 1998. Survived by her husband, Thomas L. Mack; children, Nancy Loftus, Joan Mack, Mary Good, Jeanne Patterson and Thomas G. Mack; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 29, 1998 at the Chapel Mausoleum of Holy Hope Cemetery. Peter J. Magaddino, 91, of Tucson, died January 23, 1998. He was born in Sicily. He served in WWII and received an Honorable discharge in 1944. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Angeline C. Magaddino; son, Dr. Joseph (Barbara); daughter, Marianne (Kenneth) Mulvaney as well as five grandchildren, Peter, Katherine, Sarah, Michael and Megan. A Memorial Mass has been held at St.Monica's Catholic Church. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus.

MCALLISTER, Lt. Col. (AF Ret.) Allan 'Mac', passed away January 24, 1998. Born July 1, 1918, graduated from Iowa University in 1942 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. He was a WWII veteran, flew 67 missions in the B-25 as a bombardier in Rabaul and the Philippines; retired in 1960. Preceded in death by Allan and Carrie McAllister of Newton, IA. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Hazel McAllister; son, Gary (Mary Lee); and grandchildren, Ken, Kristen and Jolynne of Boise, ID; cousins, Robert Dotson of Iowa City, IA, Richard Dotson of El Paso, TX and Jean Vronicar of Omaha, NE. Graveside Service 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 1998 at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity. OLEA, Reynaldo S., 56, of Tucson, entered into the arms of our heavenly father, on January 26, 1998. Preceded in death by his father, Henry R. Olea Sr. and brother, Henry Olea Jr. Survived by his mother, Emelina Olea and beloved wife of 32 years, Gloria. Dearly loved and devoted father of sons, Rey – Michael, Gabriel (Maricela), Daniel Rey; and daughter, Maria Katrina. Loving tata of Nathan Gabriel.
Everyone who was fortunate to meet Rey, will tell you he was a man always able to bring a smile to their hearts. To many people he touched their lives in different ways. A family man, teacher, Captain, mentor and most importantly a friend to all. He was always there to take time or to go out of his way to help someone in need.
Through his courageous battle with cancer, so many people have touched our lives. They reached out to Rey in faith, love and prayers. They came by to visit and reminisce, to give him words of comfort and encouragement. They embraced him and reached out their hands to pray alongside of him and his family.
We send our heartfelt thanks to his doctor, his TMC Hospice nurse, and social worker and to the many family and friends who shared their love and support.
We'll miss you Rey!

Lorraine R. Parente passed away Monday, January 26, 1998. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Joseph, who she celebrated her 43rd Wedding Anniversary with on November 27, 1997. She is survived by her loving mother, Theresa Rogers of Tucson; she is also survived by sons, Joseph (Anna) of Tucson, Michael (Lynn) of Tucson and Darryl of CA; daughter, Rebecca (Rick) Doty of Tucson; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Joseph, Daniel, Kassi, Derek, Brian and Jillian. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and although her bright spirit and love for God will always be with us, we will miss her greatly. From our mouths to God's ear, We Love You. ROCKFORD, Keven Morey, 33, of Tucson, died January 25, 1998. He is survived by parents, Le Roy and Diane Rockford; sister, Colette Russell; brothers, Kenneth, Keith and Aaron Rockford; fiance, Judy Jackson; nephews, Hershel, Beau and Adrian. A Home Going Celebration will be held on Friday, January 30, 1998 at 7:00 p.m. at 216 East 20th Street. Keven lived locally for several years and was a motivational speaker and carpenter. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by a brother, Damone Rockford. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus Blvd.

RUIZ, Inocente Lespron, born December 28, 1913, passed away January 23, 1998. Survived by her sons, Rudy (Mary) Ruiz Sr. and Daniel (Rachel) Ruiz; daughter, Hilda (Ramon) Moreno; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. A Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30 at Faith Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church, 5011 E. Ft.Lowell. Evening Service will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church. Pastor Joseph Salcido officiating. Anna Schaeffer, known to all of us as Mo-Mo, died Monday, January 26, 1998. She was born August 21, 1920. Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Schaeffer; and daughter, Mary Buttacavoli. Survived by three daughters, Carol Vetrano (George), Barbara Vetrano (Henry), Helen Leverton (Steve); 15 grandchildren, George Vetrano Jr., Paul Vetrano (Linda), Thomas Vetrano (Michelle), Tammy Vetrano, Anthony Schaeffer (Amy), Mario Vetrano (Lori), Guy Vetrano, Lisa Buttacavoli, James Leverton (Kelly), Gena Johnson (Brent), Al Buttacavoli, Richard Leverton (Amy), Kim Buttacavoli, William Vetrano, Thomas Buttacavoli; seven great-grandchildren, Brandon, Nicolas, Leah, Joseph, Isaiah, Sherri and Michael. She brought great joy and love to her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who were loved and touched by her. Visitation will be held, Tuesday, January 27, 1998, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at the ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. at Magee. A Mass will be held 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 1998 at St. Odilia Catholic Church, 7570 N. Paseo Del Norte. Burial will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.

SPARKS, Fred N., Sr., 78, of Tucson, died Tuesday, January 27, 1998. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Mae Sparks in 1993. He is survived by his children, Barbara (Ed) Langowski, Fred N. (Frayda) Sparks, Jr.; grandchildren, Jason Sparks, Wendy Roberts; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Mr. Sparks was a life member of V.F.W. Post 549 and a member of the B.P.O. Elks in Atlanta, GA. Friends may call at HEATHER MORTUARY, Thursday, January 29, 1998, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 1998 at HEATHER CHAPEL, 1040 N. SWISHER, Dorothy Margaret Thurmond, born in Auxvasse, MO, April 7, 1913. Died in Tucson, AZ, January 25, 1998. Preceded in death by Roy W. Swisher, husband of 55 years. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Karen (Gerald 'Doc') Trivitt of Carson City, NV, Margaret (Paul) Larmour of Tucson and Royce Ann (J. William 'Bill') Myrick of Bonita, CA. Adored grandmother of Karen Larmour of Prescott, Heather Larmour Spencer of Appleton, WI, Paul Larmour Jr. of Tucson, Rhonda Gallinger and Doreen Landes of Carson City. Great-grandmother of six. Survived by sister, Anna R. Blalock. Dorothy and Roy lived in Coolidge, Az from '46 to '84 when they retired to Tucson to be near children and grandchildren. Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper and accountant for H & H Hardware, Coolidge for 25 years. She was an active member of Coolidge Community Presbyterian Church, Monday Nighters, PEO, Chapter S, Coolidge and Chapter AE, Tucson, Christ Presbyterian Church, Tucson, and Cactus Cruisers. She was an avid bridge player. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Cottey College, 1000 W. Austin, Nevada, MO 64772. Memorial Service on Friday, January 30, at 2:00 p.m., Catalina United Methodist Church, 2700 E.Speedway. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus.

WENDLING, Vince, 73, of Tucson, died January 26, 1998. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Betty; children, Doug (Susan), Steve (Cathy), Sharon (Greg)Powell; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Vince served during WWII with the Army Air Corps. He lived in Denver where he worked as a firefighter for 20 years, retiring to Arizona in 1972. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd.

WHITE CSV, Father Lawrence R., passed away January 23, 1998 at the age of 79. Fr. White was born in Edina, MO on September 3, 1918. He graduated from DePaul University in 1943 and received an M.A. in education from DePaul in 1952. After theological studies at St. Thomas Seminary in Denver, Fr. White was ordained a priest on May 17, 1947. Father White then began a long career in Catholic Secondary Education, first at St. Philip High School in Chicago, followed by Spalding Institute in Peoria, St. Patrick High School in Kankakee, Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas and Alleman High School in Rock Island. He was principal of Gorman from 1969 to 1971. After many years in the education apostolate, he then began a career as a hospital chaplain, serving many years at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson. Father White was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Catherine; his brothers, Joseph, Thomas, Leo and Jerome; and his sisters, Bernadette, Margaret and Geneva. He is survived by his brother, Harold White of Excelsior Springs, MO. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Father White was cremated and The Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft, Wednesday, January 28, 1998 at 7:00 p.m. Burial of Fr. White's cremated remains will be in Edina, MO. Memorial donations may be made to Clerics of St. Viaton, 1212 E. Euclid, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, (Dodge Chapel), 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway).

BURGESS, George, 76. He was born May 7, 1921 in Marion, OH. Passed away January 24, 1998 in Tucson, AZ. George was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis in 1978. He is survived by his only daughter, Susan G. Case and her husband, Emmett; grandchildren, Heidi (Chris) Case of Laurel, Maryland, Cindy (Camden) Case of Tucson, AZ, Todd (Ginger) Case of Sunnyvale, CA; great-grandchildren, Brandy, Steven, Trevor and Shira (deceased). George served in the U.S. Army Medical Corp. and was stationed in the Pacific. He moved to Tucson in 1955. He was a long time employee of Hughes Aircraft Company in Tucson and Santa Barbara Research Corporation in Santa Barbara, CA. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 27, 1998 at Hudgel's SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 22nd and Swan. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 28, 1998 at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1800 S. Kolb Rd., with Monsignor Calahane officiating. George was a member of Our Mother of Sorrows and was an active usher. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

CARPIO, Gertrudis, 72, of Tucson, passed away January 25, 1998. Survived by daughter, Martina Martinez; sons, Enrique, Francisco and George Carpio; sisters, Herlinda and Josefa Ocano; brothers, Manuel and Walterio Ocano; also survived by 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 1998 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (North Chapel), 204 South Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Friday, January 30, 1998 at 9:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Church. FELIX, Johnny, 29, of Tucson, passed away January 22, 1998. Preceded in death by father, Johnny Y. Felix; and grandpa, Alex S. Romero. Survived by parents, Alice J. and Willie Orona; son, Johnny Joseph; sisters, Monica (Angel) Castillo, Joanne Felix (John Degan), Jackie Felix (Pat Bass), Denise (Raul) Marquez; brother, Anthony Felix (Christina Galaz). Wesley W. Flory passed away Saturday, January 24, 1998. He was born in Baldwin, KS on August 3, 1911. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Clara, who he celebrated his 62nd anniversary with on January 21, 1998. He is also survived by two daughters, Linda Thomas of Atlanta, GA and Nancy Beschler of York, PA; son, James Flory of Oceanside, CA; and five grandchildren. He farmed in Kansas prior to moving to Tucson in September of 1944, due to poor health, where he was employed by Davis-Monthan AFB for 28 years. He was a member of Christ Church United Methodist Church, The Elks Lodge in Show Low, AZ, The Order of Forresters, and a member of The Good Sam R.V. Club. In his memory, donations may be sent to Christ Church United Methodist or the Parkinson's Association. A Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 1998 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. with Services to follow. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY.

George Garduno passed away peacefully on January 24, 1998 surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by Shirley, his first wife and mother of his daughters in 1966. George was raised in Penasco, New Mexico, became a miner and worked throughout the southwest. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Veronica.; daughters, Ramona Grijalva (Raul), Sissy Garduno, Georgetta Platt (Steve), Monica Beus (Randy) and Christina Hernandez (Lorenzo); and his 12 'Stinkpots', Adelita, Raquel, and Marisa Grijalva; Unique, Chante, and Domonique Platt; Tyler, Zachery, Taryn, and Bradyn Beus; Missy and Renzo Hernandez. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 1998 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 South Stone Ave. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Thursday, January 29, 1998 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY. His great sense of humor and kind heart will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
