JENSEN, Agnes 'Angie', died Saturday, April 11, 1998. Born March 23, 1928 at Bode, IA. She was a long time resident of Tucson. Angie is survived by her husband, Frank; her three sons, Mike, Steve (Michelle) of Tucson, and Terry of Kearny; two grandsons, Jason and Cody of Tucson; a brother, Wally of Kansas City; cousin, Oline Hagen of Phoenix; AND relatives in Iowa and a multitude of loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lars and Gina Mitsven of Bode, IA. Angie was a member of Spanish Trail Lutheran Church and The Norsemen's Federation, both of which she loved very much. Visitation will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 East Grant Road, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 1998. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 1998 at Spanish Trail Lutheran Church, 8701 E. Spanish Trail, Pastor Dr. Hal Hoekstra officiating. KECK, Thelma L., age 67, went home to her Lord April 13, 1998 after a courageous battle with cancer. Thelma was an employee of Green Valley Recreation and a volunteer with Pima County Sheriff Auxiliary Volunteers, Concerned Advisers and Habitat for Humanity.
Thelma was born May 12, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert Lewis Jr. and Settie Lewis. She is survived by ex-husband and best friend, Norman R. Keck of Green Valley, Arizona; son, Gary L. Keck (Susan) and daughter, Carole S. James (Dan) both of Tucson, Arizona. She is also survived by sister, Janet McKeel (Harold) of Memphis, Tennessee and grandsons, Bryon and Denver Keck of Tucson.
Her generous and loving spirit will be missed by her family and many dear friends, but her love and laughter will live on in our hearts and in our homes.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Thelma's life Sunday, April 19 at 3:00 p.m. at the Green Valley Community Church. Informal reception will follow. Thelma was laid to rest at Green Valley Memorial Gardens, Sahuarita, Arizona.Charitable donations to those organizations for which she volunteered are requested in lieu of flowers.

Arlyne Ascher Morris
Died at age 66 on Easter Sunday, after a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She was employed for many years at Blue Shield and Blue Cross of New York City in their legal department.
Arlyne moved to Tucson in 1976. She vacationed here many times and loved the desert dryness, the beautiful mountains and the warm and friendly people. She entered the real estate field in 1985 and continued to work in the field she loved until weeks before her death. In 1991 she was Realtor of the Year. She was Tucson's 1993 Women's Council of Realtors Member of the Year. Arlyne was the Vice President of Tucson Association of Realtors and Director of Arizona Association of Realtors. She was a participant in the annual real estate fund raiser, the 'Show of Shows' for ten continuous years. Arlyne was very community minded and served on the Board of Northwest Home Owners Association, Board of Directors of the Hearth Foundation, the Tucson Rape Crisis Center and the Tucson Boys Chorus. She was past President of the Women's Council of Realtors.
Arylyne loved music and sang in the choir of the Ner Tamid Congregation and with the Foothills Women's Chorus. She is survived by her daughter, Shari 'Shay' Hope Kelly; son, Ronnie David; daughter-in-law, Annie Reddock; and her grandson, Karlin Ryan Kelly.
In lieu of flowers, please send donation to the Shalom House or the Hearth Foundation. There will not be funeral services. George T. Murray, Colonel, U.S. Army (Ret), age 60, died after a short illness, April 9, 1998. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Hopkins); three daughters; and sons-in-law, Melissa Murray and Steve Schiltz, Majors Jill and Patrick Warren, Nanette Murray and Carey Tucker; his mother, Theresa Murray; and five grandchildren. George was born in Douglas, AZ in 1937 to George Lewis and Theresa (Puzzi) Murray, Arizona natives. He attended Douglas High School, the University of Arizona and Arizona State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree from Northern Arizona State University, in 1969. In 1976, he completed a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Northwest Missouri State. George's military career began on June 26, 1955, when he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Private First Class with assignment to the 8th Medium Tank Battalion, 40th Armor, Tucson, AZ, as an armor crewmen. His career spanned a period of 35 years concluding August 1, 1990, when he retired as an Army Colonel. He attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Armor Corps in 1960. He entered active military duty in 1964. His career included overseas assignments; two tours in Vietnam, two tours in Germany, and one tour in Saudi Arabia. He served in many important command and staff billets, to include command of the 4th Battalion, 73rd Armor Regiment in Germany. He retired from the Army on August 1, 1990 from Fort Huachuca, AZ in a ceremony hosted by his first unit of assignment. While serving in the Army, George received numerous awards and recognitions to include the Legion of Merit Medal, the Bronze Star Medal for Valor, the Order of Saint George Medal, and was selected as an inductee into the Officer Candidate School Hall of Fame. Upon retirement from the Army, George returned to the University of Arizona and earned a post-graduate certificate in education to teach high school mathematics. Since 1994, he taught and served on numerous academic committees at Cholla High School, Tucson, AZ. George T. Murray served his community and nation proudly, and selflessly. He will be truly missed. Al Romanoski, 88 years, left us on April 13, 1998 to join his parents Anna and Paul, his brother and sister, Edwin and Mary and his youngest daughter, Patty Ann in the presence of the Lord. Al was born Albert Paul Romanoski on January 1, 1910 in Herrin, IL, the second of three children. The west called Al as a young man and he answered arriving in Tucson in 1928. A few years later he met his 'Duchess', Charlotte Schaller whom he married in 1938. That event was followed a year later by the birth of the first of eight children and in 1945 by the 'birth' of his business, Tucson Glass and Mirror. Sons, Paul and Joe have carried on the family business since Al's retirement in 1986 at the age of 76. Al also co-founded Roman Metal Products. During his adult years, Al was an active participant in the parish activities of SS Peter & Paul and later St. Frances Cabrini and was past president of the Beacon Foundation. He belonged to and served on the board of Directors of the Tucson Country Club where he enjoyed his many friends and pursued his passion for the game of golf. Al was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks Club and Salpointe Parent Club during the high school years of his children. Al is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Charlotte; children, Carrie (George) Reitz, Frances (Jack) Perkins, Paul (Joan), Pete, Jon (Cheri), Mary Jane Pottebaum, Joe (Sherri); 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, from 5:00 to 6:00 with a vigil service following at 6:00. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 17. Both will be held at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 3201 E. Presidio. Interment at Holy Hope Cemetery will follow the mass on Friday. Walter Allan Chappelear, 76, of Tucson, AZ, died from cancer, April 13, 1998. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy (Babcock) Chappelear; sister, Louise Williamson of Auburn, WA; nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his previous wife, Ellen (Jesperson) Chappelear; brother, Harry Chappelear and parents, Harry and Eveline (McCurdy) Chappelear. Walter was born and raised at Sequim, WA. He was in the USCG, B.M. 1/C and served in WW II. After the war, he farmed for a short while, however worked many years for Pozzi Brothers in Kent, WA as a driver. Upon retirement, he enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling. Walter was a Grange Past Master and a lifetime member, also a member of Seattle Local 174 Union and San Manuel Elks Club #2007. There will be no services. The family wishes to thank the Hospice of the Tucson Medical Center and suggests memorial may be made to them.
CURRY, I.D. 'Ted' Born July 17, 1914 in Lott, TX, passed away peacefully on April 13, 1998. Dennis Wayne 'Mac' McGuire, 74, of Tucson, passed away April 14, 1998. He was born on January 23, 1924 in Parsons, Kansas, where he began his grocery career at Jones Brothers Grocery during his high school days. In 1943, he married Mildred Maxine 'Mick' Halpain. He was a World War II Army Veteran, serving in the Philippines from 1943-1945. After moving to Phoenix in 1949, Mac worked for A.J. Bayless Markets as a manager and supervisor. In 1965, he moved to Tucson to serve as Bayless' Southern Division Manager for 19 years. He was active in the Retail Grocer's Association of Arizona, serving on the Board of Directors from 1976-1985, and as Chairman from 1982-1983. He was also an active member of the Tucson Rotary Club. In 1985, he retired from the grocery business. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mick. He is survived by his children, Dennis W. (Nancy) McGuire II and Michele K. (Robert) Harbour and grandchildren, Kevin and Kimberly Harbour, all of Tucson and two brothers, Bert McGuire and Dick (Maxine) McGuire of Parsons, Kansas and good friend and companion, Ruth Brandt.
