CHU, Rose, 75, passed away on April 21, 1998. Beloved wife of Tim (Tien Yao); loving mother of Randy Chu of Tucson, Cynthia Leung of Phoenix and Debra Shimoda of Los Angeles; grandmother of James and baby Shimoda and sister, Grace Fong of Los Angeles and many nieces and nephews. Visitation Services will be held Saturday, April 25, 1998, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at ARIZONA MORTUARY, 7 E. University Blvd. Memorial Service will be held following visitation. She will be interred at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whitter, CA. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to Chinese Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 2411 E. Ft. Lowell Rd., American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.

CLENDENIN, William E., 79, passed away April 19, 1998, peacefully and with dignity, his family at his side. Survivors include his wife, Joanne; daughter-in-law, Linda Whitehair; former wife, Ellen Clendenin; children, David, Dan and Dick Clendenin, Martha Clendenin, Jean Conwell, Betty Jo Gravitt; 17 grandchildren; first great-grandchild anticipated, nieces, nephews and many friends. The family gives thanks to his doctor at AZ Oncology Assoc, St. Joseph's Hospital, Mountain View Care Center and Dignita Hospice Care. At his request his body was donated to the U of A College of Medicine and in lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to AZ Cancer Center/UAF/BMTResearch, Leukemia Society/MDS Research or Red Cross/platelet donation program. Memorial Services and celebration of his life to follow cremation.

FINERSON, Fred J. 'Curley' 76, of Tucson, died April 21, 1998. Curley is survived by wife, Anne Finerson of Tucson; sons, David (Jane) Finerson of Tucson, John Finerson of NY, James (Jacki) Finerson of NY, Daniel (Deborah) Finerson of NY, Jerry Finerson of GA; daughter, Janet Moon of NY; daughter-in-law, Linda Finerson of NY; sisters, Jean Jones of MS, Pearl Sides of TN; 18 grandchildren and four great-granddaughters; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by son, Michael Finerson. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Handmakers Jewish Services for the Aging. Survivors include wife, June; sons, Jim (Pam) McMahon, Ed(Donna) McMahon; daughters, Libby (Peter) Granatowski, Margaret (Ron) Beck and grandchildren, Shannon, Jennifer, Sarah, Andy, Amber, Lauren and Matthew; brother, Ed (Adele) McMahon of Houston, TX; sisters, Pat (Ralph) Gumbert, Levittown, PA; Sister, Denise McMahon O.S.B., St. Louis, MO. Elizabeth Hildegard Minnich, 68, years old, died Wednesday, April 22, 1998 in Tucson. Born on December 31, 1929 in Neudenau, Germany. Survived by her husband, Richard Minnich of Tucson; son, Kenneth Minnich of Tucson; three daughters, Iris Muna of Guam, Donna Warner of Oklahoma, Patricia Herring, N. Carolina; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by two sons, Ronald and Steven. No services are planned at this time. OLGUIN, Jr, Antonio C., 77, of Tucson, passed away April 23, 1998. Preceded in death by parents, Antonio C. Olguin Sr. and Rosa C. Olguin. Survived by sisters, Sara Olguin, Martha Loya (Rolando), Mary Reyes, Susie Carmona and Carmen Martinez of Pico Rivera, CA and many nephews and nieces. June Riese died at home after an illness with cancer, with loving life partner, Donna Dunklin at her side. She is survived by Patt Riese, daughter; Mildred Riese, Grace Harker and Juanita Merkley, sisters; Shiloh and Abner Lee, beloved pets and so many cherished friends. June's many accomplishments included raising her daughter by working many jobs, ranging from telephone tech to newspaper carrier. She spent her retirement at home tending her garden. Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, April 26, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. at June and Donna's home. Derek Andrew Truitt, age 10, born January 15, 1988, died April 21, 1998. A fourth grader at Copper Creek Elementary, Derek brought joy to all with his spirit of love and laughter. Derek is survived by parents, Brenda Smoyer and John and Gloria Truitt; brothers, Craig and Scott; grandparents, Jerry and Pete Truitt, Ron and Sue Paisola, Jim and Betty Bacon; stepbrothers, Ian and Eric Reichert and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. WATKINS, Fred, age 80, of Tucson, passed away April 21, 1998. He was born on March 23, 1918 in Kansas City, MO. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sylvia; son, John Michael age 43 and Thomas Earl age 39. Also survived by five granddaughters and three great-grandchildren. Fred was known for his great sense of humor and his charming wit. He will be missed by all. Memorial Services will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway), Sunday, April 25, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. with Dale Jacobson officiating. Arrangements by family owned ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.

Pauline Fariss Baldwin - There will be a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery, 3015 N. Oracle Road on April 28, 1998. Brings Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Tom Harris from the First Baptist Church will officiate. Pauline Baldwin was born in Bisbee on October 11, 1910 and died in Ridgefield, CT on April 24, 1997. She attended and taught in the Tucson Public School System. She was a graduate of the University or Arizona.

Scott A. Henderson
June 27, 1942 – April 21, 1997
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 25th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral. Scott died at Long Beach Hospital in California last year after a brief bout with leukemia. Scott moved to California after earning his Bachelors Degree in Music Education and Masters in French Horn at the University of Arizona and was working on his doctoral at USC. He taught music in California at Camarillo High where he developed the innovative 'Today Generation' choral group. He was the Director of Concerts and Public Affairs at the University of Arizona in 1971 before accepting a position at Los Cerritos College in 1974. He was well-known for his operatic roles in California, Nevada, New Mexico and Arizona. Scott was an active member of the Faculty Senate, served as president and represented the Southern California Teacher's Association at the Legislature in Sacramento. He chaired the Cerritos College Music Department and jointly coordinated the Applied Music Program with his protege, Christine Lopez. He is survived by his wife, Michele; his children, Megan and Michael; stepchildren, Rachel, Ben and Jason; his mother, Rosemary Henderson; sisters, Carol Evans and Roda Nordin; nephew, Darin Evans; nieces, Tammy Nordin-Garcia and Melissa Schubert and great-niece, Kaila Schubert. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Maria Franco and brother, Michael Henderson.

ARMBRUSTER, Esther Mae, 59, passed away on April 23, 1998. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald. She is survived by sons, Carl (Tina) and John (Jennifer); grandchildren, Melissa, B.J. and Ronald C.J. of Tucson; sisters, Joan and Leona; brother, Danny of Washington. Esther served from 1958 until 1961 in the Womens Army Corp and was active in the American Legion Womens Auxiliary Unit 36, AM.Veterans Post 11 and 8 et 40 Salon #164. Memorial Services will be held at American Legion Post #36, 5835 E. 22nd Street, Tuesday, April 28, 1998 at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children's Welfare Foundation through Squadron 36. LAVINA OLIVIA BRYANT, 80, died peacefully April 23, 1998. Lavina was a dedicated and long time member of the OTT Y Women's Club. Her generosity and good spirit were felt by the many members of her club family. She was also an enthusiastic fan of the TOTS (Tucson Old Timers) Baseball Team, attending many of their games and accompanying them to their tournaments in El Paso. Lavina was a faithful member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church. She will be especially missed by all those who were deeply loved by her and who affectionately called her Grandma Honey: Nicole, Lacy, Nick, Andy, Steve, Dan, Tammie, Matt, Marianne, Catherine and Emily. Lavina was preceded in death by her husband, William. She is survived by a very large extended family: Ed Doughterty, William and Robert Bryant, Mary Bryant and family; grandchildren, Leah Sandoval, Raven Bergin, Bob Bryant, Jr.; and Nancy and Jerry Johnson and family. A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 9252 E. 22nd St., on Tuesday, April 28, at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers or cards, the family requests that donations be made to the Grandma Honey Children's Fund, Nash Elementary School, 515 W. Kelso St., 85705.

FLORES, Victor Sr., 77, of Tucson, passed away April 21, 1998. Preceded in death by beloved wife of 50 years; Consuelo Flores. Survived by daughters, Betty Lopez (Joe), Consuelo Robles (David) and Cathy Delhanty (Bobby) from Washington; sons, Hector Delgado (Frances), Victor Flores Jr. (Litty), Robert Flores (Sara) and Rudy Flores; sisters, Frances Nevarez and Andrea Martinez from New Mexico. Also survived by 29 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 27, 1998 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Sophie I. Gray, born on June 25, 1917 in New Brunswick, Canada, she passed away peacefully on April 21, 1998 in Tucson. She joins her husband of 43 years, Howard Gray, who preceded her in death. They opened Gray's Garage at 2544 E. Speedway, Tucson in 1947 and operated it for many years. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother ('Mamo'). She is survived by her son, Dennis H. Gray of Tucson and two grandchildren, Garrett K. Gray and Lindsay D. Gray of Tucson, who she always treasured. Sophie will be dearly missed by all. Private Services arranged by EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY.

KENWORTHY, Philip W., formerly of Tucson, died April 24, 1998 in Eugene, Oregon at the age of 91. Survived by his wife, Harriet, Eugene, OR; daughter, Lane Ross of Veneta, OR and two grandsons. MCCOY, Jacqueline Kerr, passed away April 23, 1998 after a lengthy illness. She was born Helene Aubrey Goodman on January 1, 1935 in Huntington, West Virginia. Her parents were Lillian Goodman and Joseph Goodman. She married Tim Michael McCoy on February 9, 1984. Jaci was a waitress and friend to many people in Boulder, Colorado and in Tucson, Arizona. Jaci is survived by her husband and by daughters, Kathleen Kerr of Boulder, Colorado and Ilse Wheeler and son-in-law, Don Wheeler of Parker, Colorado; grandchildren, Jedon Kerr of Boulder, Colorado and Dekan Wheeler and Kimbari Wheeler both of Parker, Colorado also survive her. One son, Douglas Dale Kerr preceded her in death in 1974. Jaci McCoy was also survived by lifetime friends, Joe and Sarah Frese who are holding a celebration of her life to be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 1998 at 5685 East Rio Verde Vista Drive.
