She was born July 9, 1923, in Alexandria, Scotland, and had been a hotel night clerk.

Guadalupe Hermosillo Mora
Guadalupe Hermosillo Mora of San Luis, Ariz., died March 23, 2003, at Yuma Regional Medical Center at age 60.
Born Dec. 11, 1942, in Mexico, she was a homemaker.
A wake will be held from noon to 4 p.m Thursday, with rosary at 1 p.m., at Yuma Mortuary. Mass will be 9 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Yuma City Cemetery.

Eleanor Ruth Reid Slade
Eleanor Ruth Reid Slade passed away March 21, 2003 at the age of 67. Eleanor was born on May 31, 1935 in Birmingham, Alabama to Samuel Eugene Reid and Elizabeth Pauline Roper Reid.
Eleanor married Dwaine Edward Slade May 10, 1955 in Yuma, Arizona. Marriage later solemnized in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple. Eleanor is survived by her husband Dwaine of 47 years, and her four children, Lorna Hoopes (Jack), of Tetonia, Idaho; Lisa Buckmiller (Ron) of Centerville, Utah; David D. Slade (Lisa) of Yuma, and Leslie Snell (Curt) of Yuma. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren Hayden Mazzarelli (Joey), Nicole Buckmiller, J.C. Hoopes, Daniel Slade, Slade Hoopes, Douglas Slade, Jessica Snell, Mitchell Buckmiller, Alyssa Slade, Kameron Snell, and Leah Snell and one great-grandson, J.D. Mazzarelli. One sister Pat Garrison (Kirby) of Yuma and two brothers, Neal Reid (Mary Jane) of Ft. Meyers, Florida and Richard Reid of Santee, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Lawerence, Wally and Steve.
Eleanor’s quick wit and friendly smile will be missed by all, we love you Mama, and Grandma.
A visitation will be held at Johnson Mortuary, 1415 S. 1st Ave., Tuesday, March 25, 2003 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at 11:00 am with a visitation from 10:00 am-10:45 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center, 4300 W. 16th St., Yuma. Internment will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.

Mary Catherine Phillips Ashland, 86, born May 13, 1916 in Hindsville, Arkansas to Joseph and Gertrude Phillips. She passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico on March 7.
She is survived by her husband Edward Ashland and two daughters Sharon Richards and Linda Dotson. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren.

Born July 15, 1935, in Sinaloa, Mexico, he had been an agricultural laborer.
A viewing was held from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday at Yuma Mortuary and Crematory.
All services will be held in Mexico. He will be buried in the Ejido Hermosillo cemetery in Ejido Hermosillo, Baja Calif.

Irene Eleanor Reed, 83 passed away at Yuma Life Care Center on March 19, 2003. She was born October 26, 1919 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
Irene married Frank E. Reed in Worland, Wyoming on November 9, 1935.
Irene is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Frank Reed; two daughters, Fran Hanson and Judy K Lewis; and son Dr. Frank Reed, all of Yuma. She is also survived by seven wonderful grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren. Irene was preceded in death by her brother Doyle McKim from Manderson Wyoming, three sisters Bernice Rawles of Bakersfield, California, Dorthy Andrews of Casper, Wyoming, Betty Pershing of Worland, Wyoming. A private cremation will take place at Johnsons Mortuary.

Dorothy J. Commandest passed away March 19, 2003 at the age of 61 after a long battle with cancer.
She is survived by her three children, Gloria J. Randle, Joe A. Randle and Avery Marie Commandest all of Mesa and her mother, Johnnie M. Lilly of Blythe, California. Dorothy had four beautiful grandchildren, three brothers, five sisters and many wonderful friends. She will be greatly missed. We love you, Mama!

William ‘Bill’ Prickett
Mr. William “Bill” Prickett, (beloved husband, father and grandpa), 73 passed away at home on March 17, 2003. Born June 4, 1929 in Cisco, Texas, Bill was a produce contractor and “Fruit Tramp”, as well as a Somerton and Yuma resident since 1942.
Bill is survived by his adoring wife of 51 years, Edna Prickett, of Yuma; son Kirk “Corky” Prickett (Trudy) of Yuma; daughter, Karen Lynn (Tom) Gebhart, of Yuma. Four magnificent grandchildren, Hunter and John Prickett, and Joshua and Kayla Gebhart, all of Yuma; sister Kay (Dave) Keller of Yuma; Brothers Lonnie Prickett of Buckeye, Arizona; John Prickett of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Dan Prickett of Santa Maria, California. Bill is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as many friends who loved him.
A viewing will be held Monday, March 24, 2003 from 10:00am-10:45am. at Jonhnsons Mortuary. Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 24, 2003 at 11:00am at Desert Lawn.
