Mary Anne Descoteaux, loving wife of Mike Webb, went 'home to Jesus' May 7, 1998. Mary is also survived by loving daughters, Shannon (Carter) Knowles of Kirkland, WA, Shelly Webb and Kelly Webb of Tucson; loving sister, Janet (Paul) Ohlendorf; and nephew, Todd Ohlendorf of Scottsdale; and many loving members of her extended family. Mary came to know Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1978. She is a good and faithful servant of our Lord and will live in his glory forever. Her one wish in life was for the Lord to use her to show His everlasting love for His flock. Mary was born at St. Mary's Hospital in Tucson on May 2, 1955 and graduated from St. Joseph's Parochial School (1969), Rincon High School (1973) and the University of Arizona (1977). Mary was Vice President and Controller of Sundt Corp. She was a Certified Public Accountant and a member of A.I.C.P.A. and a past President of Executive Women International, Tucson Chapter. Mary fought a short but gallant fight with cancer and in the end, due to His love, she won the battle. Mary, we will Love and Miss You until we can join you to live forever in the glory of our Lord. A memorial service will be held at Christ Community Church, 7801 E. Kenyon Dr., Monday, May 11, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. Those who knew and loved Mary are invited to attend our celebration of Mary's 'going home to Jesus'. PV1 STEVEN M. FINK, 18, of Oro Valley, died Wednesday, May 6, 1998 in a one-car accident near Sonoita, AZ. Steven completed Army Basic Infantry Training at Ft. Knox, KY on May 1, 1998 and was scheduled to report to his new assignment at Ft. Hood, TX on May 13, 1998. Steven is survived by his father and step-mother, Wayne and Diana Fink of Oro Valley, AZ; brother, Michael (Donna) of Highland, CA; sister, Susan (Louie) DeCarlo of San Francisco, CA; three step-sisters, Angela (Jeff) Hutchins of Mankato, MN, Annette (Trent) Whitcomb, and Ann (Jeff) Leland, all of Rochester, MN; paternal grandparents, Willard H. and M. Charlotte Fink of San Diego, CA; maternal grandmother, Mildred Harris of Savannah, GA; aunts and uncles; cousins; three nieces and a nephew; and many friends. Steven was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca in 1988. Graveside services and burial will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Savannah, GA.
HILL, Charles Jerome, 84, died May 6, 1998 at the Desert Samaritan Care Center in Mesa. Mr. Hill was born in Robinson, Illinois on June 30, 1913, the son of Charles B. Hill and Marie Olsen Hill. Following his father's death in 1921, Mr. Hill moved with his mother and sisters, Helen and Ruth to Chicago, where he graduated from Austin High School. He studied chemical engineering at the University of Illinois and served as an infantry officer of the 89th Division in the European Theater in World War 2, earning a Silver Star and Purple Heart in actions in Germany. Mr. Hill married Ardith Rose MacNames on May 2, 1942. Following WW2, he and Mrs. Hill operated a water conditioning business in Belvidere, Illinois and moved to Tucson from Illinois in 1963, where Mr. Hill was employed by the United States Postal Service. He and Mrs. Hill remained in Tucson until 1994, when they joined their daughters, Jeremie Hill Grey and Jane Marie Hill Clevenger in Mesa. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, two daughters and a host of friends, neighbors, and relatives who loved him. Mr. Hill was a life-long Presbyterian and member of Celebration of Life Presbyterian Church, 2530 S. Alma School Road in Mesa. A gathering for family and friends will be held at the family home, 2017 W. Lobo Circle, Mesa on Friday evening, May 8 at 7:30. A Service of Witness to the Resurrection will be conducted in his memory at 1:30 on Saturday, May 9 at Celebration of Life Church. He will be buried among family members in Belvidere, Illinois. KLELL, Frank Alex, 86, of Tucson, AZ, died May 5, 1998. Son Frank Albert Klell and daughter, Rita Zappone; grandsons, Michael, Martyn and Mark Klell; granddaughter, Michele Zappone and great-grandson, Kevin Klell survive him. Frank worked on production of the Norton Bomb Site before volunteering for service in WWII. He served on the U.S.S. Preston as a chief-petty-officer in the engine room. The ship was involved in many naval operations including Iwo Jima, Okinawa and the occupation of Japan. Frank also served on the U.S.S. Bradford in the Korean War. After military service he worked for 22 years for B.F. Goodrich Tire Company as a Temperature Control Engineer. His love of fishing, sports, landscaping, generosity and wit will be dearly missed. LANE, Mr. Lyle A. Lane of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on May 6, 1998. He was born on May 29, 1915 and is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lane and son, Leonard Lane both of Tucson. Lyle retired from Hughes Aircraft and had spent his retirement years caring for his family and pursuing his passion for bowling. He will be greatly missed.
Bienvenido Z. Luganob, my best friend, companion and partner, died May 9, 1998. I thank God for the privilege He has given me in having spent more than half my life with Benny. He will be missed by all those who were lucky enough to have known him, but especially by his two daughters, Holly and Marceline and by me, his wife, Marjorie.
