Everyone who spent time with Jerry and Millie could see their shared love and devotion, which, according to Jerry, 'only gets better with time.' There was never any doubt that they were lovers for 53 years of marriage. They valued friendships and gave their home and substance to many over the years. The giving also included Jerry's WWII Marine Corps service in the Pacific where he earned a Purple Heart during the battle for Iwo Jima. The captivating stories of ancestors of childhood kindnesses and benefactors, of marriage, of raising sons, Jerry Paul and Harry, of grandchildren and a great-grandchild, and of valued friendships showed the depth of their appreciation of life.
