Luis D. Perez
Luis D. Perez, 79, of Yuma, died March 20, 2003, at Yuma Regional Medical Center.
Born June 19, 1923, in Guanajuato, Mexico, he had been a construction laborer.
A wake will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, with rosary at 7 p.m., at Johnson Mortuary Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Desert Lawn.
Arrangements are being handled by Johnson Mortuary.
William J. (Bill) Mulligan
William J. (Bill) Mulligan, 90, passed away. He was born November 17, 1912 in Fresno, California and was caregiver for his dear wife of 61 years, Mary. Previously, Bill was a U.S. Navy Lt. in WWII, a school teacher, a U.S. Census worker, and he spent 16 years as a Sears salesman in Yuma.He spent over 25 years serving God by preaching and teaching for the Salvation Army in Yuma as a volunteer; gave a weekly worship service for 25 years in Yuma nursing homes (volunteer), and was a frequently published contributor to The Sun (poetry and letters to the Editor). Bill was a resident since 1958 and was known widely in Yuma as a substitute teacher in all Yuma High Schools from 1982 to 1997, from age 70 to 85.
Bill is survived by his wife, Mary Mulligan, of Yuma; sons, David of Covington, Virginia, and Dan of Lake Worth, Florida; daughter, Dawn Reyburn of Phoenix, Arizona; brother, David Mulligan of Salinas, California; and sister, Martha Brown, also of Salinas; seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2003 at the Yuma Salvation Army, 475 W. 13th Street, Yuma, with Major Eric Lo of the Salvation Army officiating. Yuma Mortuary will be handling the cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Yuma Salvation Army Building Fund or Hospice of Yuma. Flowers may be sent to the Salvation Army (783-0181).
Philip C. Jackson
Philip C. Jackson, 79, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2003 in Cobre Valley Community Hospital in Globe, Arizona.
He was born in Los Angeles, California but resided in Globe, Arizona. Philip was a retired Insurance Adjuster and owned his own business, Jackson Claims Service in Yuma, Arizona for 30 years, after he was an investigator for the law firm Westover, Choules & Shadle in Yuma, Arizona and more recently for the law firm of Thompson, Montgomery and De Rose in Globe, Arizona.
In Rotary for 45 years & a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. He loved playing tennis & old Mustang cars.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Wanda Jackson of Globe, Arizona; sons Phil Jackson (Christine) of Troy, Michigan and Neal Jackson (Sara) of Lakeside, Arizona; brother Dan Jackson (Dorsey) of Vista, California. Two granchildren, one great-grandchild.
Services will be held at Lamont Mortuary Chapel in Globe, Arizona on Friday, June 20, 2003 at 2:00pm. Donations in his name can be made to Cobre Valley Community Hospital Foundation, 5880 S. Hospital Dr., Globe, Arizona 85501. Assisting the family: Lamont Mortuary of Globe.

Lawrence Henry Lentz of Yuma died June 17, 2003, at Yuma Regional Medical Center at 91.
He was born Nov. 11, 1911, in Dallas, Wis., and was a retired farmer.

She was born May 31, 1914, in Athens, Ala., and had been a waitress.

Saul Virrey of Somerton died June 19, 2003, at Yuma Regional Medical Center. He was 70 years old.
He was born in Durango, Mexico, on May 31, 1933, and had been an agricultural laborer.

Born Oct. 23, 1929, in Los Angeles, she was a retired pharmacy clerk.

Born Sept. 5, 1932, in Blue Earth, Minn., he had been a foreman for Verde Growers. Services are pending at Johnson Mortuary.
Calvin Busch Sutton
Calvin Busch Sutton, 71, passed away June 14, 2003 in Yuma. He was born in Ben Lomond, Arkansas on July 16, 1931.
Calvin graduated from George Washington University and served in the Army from 1948-1969.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Sutton of Yuma; Son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Barbara Sutton of Yuma; Sons, Charles Sutton of Newport News, Virginia; and Calvin Mapes of Murray, Utah; Daughter Carolyn Sutton-Costello also of Murray,Utah; Grandchildren, Justin, Jared, and Joshua all of Yuma; and 11 other grandchildren not residing in Yuma.
