During most of WW II (1943-1945), he worked in the Chicago Office of the U.S. Government's Office of Price Administration (OPA). After WW II he returned to sales, this time in the building materials field. In 1950 he and his family moved from Chicago to Flossmoor, a Chicago suburb. He joined Flossmoor CC and remained a member for over 20 years. In 1966 the family moved back to Chicago. In 1961 he opened his own national sales organization, Edward A. Zegers & Associates, representing manufacturers in the building materials industry, with sales representatives covering most of the U.S. He retired in 1980 and he and his wife moved to Tucson. His beloved wife passed away in 1991. He was listed in the 1967-68 edition of 'Who's Who in the Midwest', and was a Patentee. He was a member of Oro Valley CC from 1982 to 1996. Ed was an intrepid traveler and loved photography and videography. Between 1964 and 1993 he took 25 international trips, visiting 96countries on six continents. He loved to play golf and gin rummy and was a life-long fan of the Chicago White Sox and the Green Bay Packers. He was also a life-long republican.
