Virginia M. Munyon, 71, of Tucson, died July 1, 1998. Born in West Grove Township, Iowa on August 27, 1926 she moved to Tucson in 1986. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell E. Munyon; son, Wendell Lee Munyon and brother, Don Bailey. GUNDY, John Reuben, 75, succumbed Sunday morning, July 5, 1998 to complications caused by a propane grill explosion at his home on June 24, 1998. He was a man blessed with a youthful vigor and a zest for life, bringing a special joy to all of his family. A WW II Veteran, he joined the Navy upon his high school graduation in 1942. He fought in the Battle of Normandy and was wounded in the Southern Italy Invasion, being Honorably Discharged in 1945. He attended Iowa State University. Born in Gary, Indiana on March 27, 1923. He spent most of his life in Indianapolis, Indiana as a Realtor and Broker. Resident of Tucson since 1992. Known affectionately as Jack, he was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by three brothers, Richard, Clete and Robert; his wife, Pam; her three daughters, Kimberly, Angela and Kristen; his four children, Michael, Kathy, Mark and Peter; and nine grandchildren. COTA, George T., 44, of San Manuel, passed away July 4, 1998. He was born September 14, 1953 in Nogales, Arizona. He grew up in Tucson and moved to San Manuel 20 years ago where he had worked for BHP Copper Co. for 26 years and belonged to the Steel Workers Union. He was active in civic affairs belonging to the Lions Club, American Legion, helping with the Food Bank, and the Adopt-A-Highway program. AS hobbies he enjoyed playing golf, hunting, archery, motorcycle riding and working on cars. Survivors include his wife, Judy L. Cota; daughters, Diana, Sarah and Georgette Cota all of San Manuel; parents, Nacho M. and Monchia Cota of Tucson; brothers, Ignacio A., Jose, Salvador T., Danny T., Jimmy T., and David T.; sisters, Frances T., Ursula R., Marcia T.
