Virginia M. Munyon, 71, of Tucson, died July 1, 1998. Born in West Grove Township, Iowa on August 27, 1926 she moved to Tucson in 1986. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell E. Munyon; son, Wendell Lee Munyon and brother, Don Bailey. Survived by sons, Craig (Shirley) and John (Rhonda) Munyon; daughter-in-law, Karen Munyon as well as four grandchildren, Allen, Carrie, Jason and Aaron Munyon all of Tucson; her mother Lucille Bailey; brothers, Richard (Kay) Bailey, Francis (Janet) Bailey, David (Rhonda) Bailey, Dennis (Judy) Bailey; sisters, Ailene Rooney, Patty (Grant) Poindexter all from Iowa; sister-in-law, Bev Bailey and many loving nieces and nephews. Graveside inurnment services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Road. MULRAIN, Charles W. 'Muldoon', age 82, of Tucson, returned to our Lord on July 4, 1998. Born in Chicago, IL on July 31, 1915. Retired from Peoples Gas Co. of Chicago. A loving and devoted family man, he is survived by his wife of 17 years, Dorothy; brother, Clyde of Wisconsin; daughters, Pat English of Tucson; Melody Conter of Chicago, Mary Spiros and Nancy Simpson of Tucson; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and all those who loved him. NAVARRO, Mary Salome, Born October 22, 1912, Tucson, AZ, died July 2, 1998. Predeceased by husband, Antonio S. Navarro. She is survived by son, Richard (Nancy) Navarro; daughter, Leonore (James) Polito; sister, Betsy Grinnell; brothers Gilbert and Manuel Verdugo; seven grandchildren. Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 6, 1998, at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Mass will be offered 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Fernando Rivera, 29, of Tucson, passed away June 28, 1998. He is survived by his mother, Francisca Rivera; daughter, Miriam Rivera; siblings, David (Reyna), Norma, Pauline, Frances, Valentin (Gloria), Robert, Margarita and Isabel (Albert) as well as many nieces and nephews who love him very much. Friends may call beginning at 4:00 p.m. on July 7, 1998 at Cristo Rey Church, 4821 W. Calle Vicam. GUNDY, John Reuben, 75, succumbed Sunday morning, July 5, 1998 to complications caused by a propane grill explosion at his home on June 24, 1998. He was a man blessed with a youthful vigor and a zest for life, bringing a special joy to all of his family. A WW II Veteran, he joined the Navy upon his high school graduation in 1942. He fought in the Battle of Normandy and was wounded in the Southern Italy Invasion, being Honorably Discharged in 1945. He attended Iowa State University. Born in Gary, Indiana on March 27, 1923. He spent most of his life in Indianapolis, Indiana as a Realtor and Broker. Resident of Tucson since 1992. Known affectionately as Jack, he was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by three brothers, Richard, Clete and Robert; his wife, Pam; her three daughters, Kimberly, Angela and Kristen; his four children, Michael, Kathy, Mark and Peter; and nine grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all. Memorial Mass, 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 1998 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

RIVAS, Manuel, 84, of Tucson, died July 2, 1998. He is survived by his children, Gloria (Jose) Valenzuela, Soledad Cruz, Ricardo (Linda) Rivas, Francisco (Margaret) Rivas, Rudy (Minda) Rivas and Norbert (Maria)Rivas; 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren also survive. Friends may call at HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus Blvd. on July 7, 1998 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be at St. Augustine Cathedral on July 8, 1998 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. SVENHEIM, William, died July 4, 1998 after a long illness. Bill is survived by his wife, Marian; four children, Greg Svenheim of Fairport, NY; Donna Lee of Manchester, TN; Gail Ellsworth of Ellsworth, ME; and Scott Svenheim of Phoenix, AZ. Also survived by three grandchildren, Kasha and Marisa Ellsworth and Erica Svenheim; and his sister, Martha Steckler of Jackson Corners, NY. Bill was a retiree of General Electric and a member of the Elks. Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 8 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. CLARK, Charles R., passed away July 5, 1998 at the VA Medical Center Hospice. Mr. Clark was a resident of Tucson since 1966. He is survived by his four children, Rory, Keith, Merita, Craig and nine siblings. He was a generous and caring man. He will be greatly missed. Services will be held at ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL 3435 N. 1st Ave, July 8 at 3:00 p.m., followed by a small gathering at the Clarions Inn, Cactus Room, located at 6801 S. Tucson Blvd., immediately following the memorial service.

COOPER, Mildred Dolores, 61 years, of Tucson, passed June 30, 1998. Survived by her husband, Ludis J. Cooper of Tucson, to whom she was married for over 12 years. Mildred's father John Henry, preceded her in death. Her mother Bennette H. Cleveland, resides in Tucson. Mildred was born in Harris County, Texas. Mildred is survived by her children, John Benjamin Marion, Paul Anthony Cannon both of Calif., Deborah Joyce Alexander, Delores Ann Alexander both of Tucson, Linda Marie Dunson of Hawaii, Cynithia Diane Howell of Tucson, Deborah Maxwell of Phoenix; grandchildren, Terrencee Williams, Michael C. Darton and Marcus Lee Darton all of Tucson. Also a great-aunt, Minnie Ola of Texas. Mildred's daughter, Stacey Marie Alexander and sister, Barbara Ann Kozoc, preceded her in death. Mildred's early education, was obtained thru Tucson High School and Pima Community College. Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 10, 1998 at 11:00 a.m., Grace Temple Baptist Church, 1019 East 31st with Rev. D. Grady Scott officiating. COTA, George T., 44, of San Manuel, passed away July 4, 1998. He was born September 14, 1953 in Nogales, Arizona. He grew up in Tucson and moved to San Manuel 20 years ago where he had worked for BHP Copper Co. for 26 years and belonged to the Steel Workers Union. He was active in civic affairs belonging to the Lions Club, American Legion, helping with the Food Bank, and the Adopt-A-Highway program. AS hobbies he enjoyed playing golf, hunting, archery, motorcycle riding and working on cars. Survivors include his wife, Judy L. Cota; daughters, Diana, Sarah and Georgette Cota all of San Manuel; parents, Nacho M. and Monchia Cota of Tucson; brothers, Ignacio A., Jose, Salvador T., Danny T., Jimmy T., and David T.; sisters, Frances T., Ursula R., Marcia T. Noperiand Julie Y.; four grandchildren. The wake service will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church, Main St. & Park Pl. in San Manuel. The Mass will be Thursday at 9:00 a.m. also at St.Bartholomew's. Interment will be at Oracle Cemetery in Oracle. Arrangements by Griffith Mortuary, (520) 363-5353.

GODBEY, Kathleen, 72, died July 5, 1998. Preceded in death by her husband, Col. Donald E. Godbey, March 26, 1997. Survived by her children, Priscilla A. Miller, Elizabeth A. Godbey and Donald E. Godbey Jr; grandchildren, Martha Jane Vehlewald, Susan H. Patterson, Robert H. Miller Jr.and Kathleen E. Miller; great-grandchildren, Justin Vehlewald, Nathaniel Miller and Nora Patterson. HUNTER, Jean E., 90, died July 2, 1998. Mother of David B. (Jean) Hunter of Las Cruces, NM, John C. (Marcia) Hunter of Saratoga Springs, NY and Roberta H.(Edward) Miller of Tucson; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. Daughter of Valorous and Edith Winney. Preceded in death by husband Burritt D. Hunter and sister, Marion Clayton both of Saratoga Springs, NY. She was married for 54 years, a former telephone operator with New York Bell and lifetime membership in United Methodist Church. At her request no services are planned. MACFARLANE, Arlo John, age 64, of Tucson, Arizona, born in Fairfax, Minnesota, died Saturday, June 28, 1998 in Mesa, AZ. At his request, no services to be held. He retired in 1995 from Steiner Corporation, a Route Salesman at American Linen Co. for 12 years. Survivors include his wife, Linda MacFarlane; daughters, Amber Liskey, Denise Bradway; sons, Loyal of Prescott and his wife Krystal, Ken and Larry; brothers, Loyal and Marl MacFarlane.
