Vincent N. Zagona
March 17, 1947 – July 19, 1998
Preceded in death by his father, Vincent J. Zagona. Survived by wife, Barbara; daughters, Melissa, Alison and Christina; mother, Thelma Zagona; sisters, LeAnna (Tom) Jordan and Antoinette Sheehey and numerous other loving family members and friends. Vincent was a native of Tucson and until 1995 managed the family business (Vince's Italian Restaurant) with his sister Toni until he retired. Vince graduated from NAU in 1971 with a degree in Psychology. He was with the Flagstaff Police Dept. for seven years before returning to Tucson to take over the family business and AAA Catering. He also officiated at many weddings over the years. Vince was a member of the Saguaro Optimist Club and was at one time president. He was a long time member and past president of the St. Cyril's School Board where he was also involved in church activities as a Eucharistic Minister. Vince will be fondly remembered and missed for his generosity and humorous personality. He was never ending in offering his encouragement with his positive attitude towards his family. Vince is dearly loved and will be missed by all whose life he has touched. Friends may call at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. BIEGLER, Gladys A., 93, passed away July 21, 1998 in Tucson. Survived by son, John F. (Irene) Biegler of Tucson; four granddaughters; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters. Gladys moved to Arizona in 1971 after her loving husband, Charles, passed away. She is also preceded in death by a great-great-granddaughter, Rachel. FRANK, Florence, 79, passed away Saturday, July 18, 1998. She is survived by her husband, Charles Frank of Tucson; daughter, Joy Phelps of Omaha, NE; stepdaughter, Barbara Pusch of CA; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
MARQUEZ, Toribio Ray, 70, of Tucson, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 1998. Toribio is survived by his wife, Lola of 12 years; their children's mother, Ermalinda; daughters, Maria Patricia (Robert) Taylor and Victoria Ramirez-Marquez; sons, John Steven (Pamela), Michael Ray (Dorothy), Robert Lewis (Barbara), Mark Anthony and Jeffery Stewart Marquez (James Douglas); grandchildren, Angelica, Alexandria, Frank Jr., Adriana, Jennifer, John Jr., Michael Jr., Joseph, Robert II and Leanne. Mr. Marquez was a retired copper miner for over 50 years. Visitation for family and friends, Thursday, July 23 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. PRATT, Leonard E., 77, of Tucson, died July 19, 1998. Survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Blythe; daughter, Linda; brother, Robert; grandchildren, Jennifer and Michael; as well as several other relatives and numerous friends. He was a 31 year Veteran of the USAF, during which time he was a P-38 fighter pilot, a prisoner of war who to this day carries six enemy bullets in his body. After retiring he served on the Tucson Crime Commission and as a property manager. Service of Love and Remembrance will be 7:30 p.m. Friday at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. SAX, Judith Aach, 92, died July 21, 1998 of heart failure. SNYDER, Christine Sumiko 'Murphy', 65, of Tucson, died July 20, 1998. Beloved wife and best friend of husband, William G.Snyder, for over 38 years; also survived by sisters, Yukiko Chen of Hong Kong, and Misako Akiya; and brothers, Jo and Yo Kubota of Tokyo, Japan. She was small in stature, but big in heart. An avid amateur radio operator with the call sign of KB8VA, she was net control of a weekly Japanese speaking ham operator network. WACKERLY, Eric James, 40, died July 18, 1998. KASER, Clifford P., of Tucson, formerly of Ohio. Clifford came to Tucson in 1962. He leaves behind his son, Donald R. Kaser of San Diego, CA, Daniel L. Kaser of Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren, Ruth, Carlos, Donald and Paul from California, also Courtney from Ft. Worth, Texas; and many great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Frances and Dorothy from Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He belonged to GWRAA-Chapter A, Tucson Retreads Motorcycle Association and was active in the Masonic Order and DeMolays prior to moving to Tucson. MAJESKY, Muriel M., 89, of Tucson, died July 23, 1998. McQUERRY, Janet M., 65, passed away July 11, 1998 in Denver, CO. Luciano A. Quezada, born August 5, 1926 in Nogales, Sonora, and a resident of Tucson for 37 years, passed away July 25, 1998. Luciano is survived by his former wife, Angela Quezada; three daughters, Rosario (Kevin) Cowhey, Angela (Ralph) Luna, Claresa (Jim) Quezada; and six sons, Mario (Rosemarie), Luciano III (Lina), Alfredo (Maria), Peter, Daniel (Paula), and Mark (Yolanda) Quezada; also survived by two sisters, Guadalupe Q.Martinez of Nogales, Arizona; and Blanca Rosa Simental of California. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

RUITER, Frank Kenneth Ruiter, of Tucson, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, July 24, 1998 from complications following surgery. Frank grew up in Illinois and became a builder, moving to Tucson 20 years ago. Many beautiful homes in the area are the legacy of his creative talent and expertise. He was founder of Canada Construction Company. In recent years of semi-retirement, Frank enjoyed traveling with his wife, Barbara, to see the natural beauty of the country, and to visit family and friends. He also spent many hours making the desert bloom around their home. Those remaining to miss Frank and carry happy memories of this loving husband, father, and grandfather include: Barbara, his wife of 46 years; their children: Gregg, his children, Victor, Breanna, and Brittany; Wayne (Kathleen), their children, Buffy, Daniel, and Marissa; Randy (Jennifer), their children, Jessa and Megan; Cheryl (Mike) Hopp, their children, Garrett and Lauren); Jana (Keith) Long, their son, Bryce; cousins and best friends, Tom and Nola Brackenbury; special friends, Ron and Barbara Wisner; and many relatives and friends. Frank was the youngest of 12 children born to Frank and Jennie (Buis) Ruiter. Surviving siblings include Corky, Lois, and Ruth.
