Patricia Anne Ellis Touche - Memorial Services will be held forPatricia Anne Ellis Touche at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday (August 26) in St. Pius X Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Kinglsey officiating. She died August 9, 1998 in Spokane, Washington following a brief illness. Patricia Ellis was born April 7, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois and throughout her early life, resided in Rockford, Illinois and Beloit, Wisconsin. She attended Milwaukee Downer and Northwestern University. In 1947, the Ellis family moved to Tucson and Patricia transferred to the University of Arizona where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. In 1948 she was named the Universities Homecoming Queen. While a resident of Tucson, she was very active in many charities and clubs including The Tucson Garden Club and was known as a gracious hostess. In addition she was a talented artist. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Milton Ellis, Jr. and Anne Leay Ellis; a sister, Helen and brothers, Charles and John. Survivors include sons, Charles Touche, Phoenix, Steven Touche; daughter, Laura Touche Martin, Deer Park, Washington and her brother, Thomas M. Ellis III, Santa Ana, California. Also seven grandchildren, Elija and Carla Mink, Charles, Patrick, Elizabeth, Ashley and Kristen Touche. Interment will be in Deer Park, Washington.

HANSEN, George E. 'Bud' age 79, passed away suddenly at his summer home in Pinetop on Saturday, August 22, 1998. He was born and raised in Red Lodge, Montana where he attended school. He served in the CCC camps near Missoula, MT. He then attended the Univ. of Montana before serving in the U.S. Army during WWII.After the war he became a pack and guide outfitter in Cooke City, MT. In 1950 he entered the Real Estate business in Billings, MT. He retired in 1971 and moved to Tucson. His passions were his family and friends, golf, music and horses. He is survived by his wife, Donna Hansen of Tucson and Pinetop; one son, Greg (Amy) Hansen of Tucson; two daughters, Jan (Jack) Korsten of Stanfield and Julie (Gary) McLeod of Tucson and six grandchildren, Erin, Renne, Scott, Kelly, Kimberly and Tyler and his horse 'Bandit'. HOFFMAN, Philip Darrel, 82, of Vail, AZ went to be with our Lord on August 18, 1998. He was a wonderful person. An unselfish man with a big heart, always a kind word and a beautiful voice. He proudly served his country in World War II as a member of the U.S. Army Remount and in Special Services Entertainment Division. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union for 46 years, as well as a Rancher who loved the outdoors and wide open spaces. He will be greatly missed by his wife and partner of 52 years, Madonna and his children, Paul (Sharon) of Michigan, James (Carlene), John (Vickie), Pete (Joyce), Philip, Martha, Phyllis (Gary) Wood, Madonna (Brad) Hupp, Linda (Duane) Scott, Mary (Lonnie) Dull, Esther (Ron) Gamble of Arizona; his 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; his sisters, Betty Andrea, Lucille King and Dottie Yeager; brothers, Joe (Josephine) and Albert of PA. Edward 'Ed' Neidkowski, Sr., 73, passed away August 22, 1998at St. Mary's Hospital. He is survived by his spouse, Elsie; daughter, Marion Neidkowski of Long Island, NY; sons, Edward Jr. (Monica) and Peter, both of Tucson; sister, Agnes Neely of NJ; brother, Richard Neidkowski of GA; six grandchildren also survive. BATES, Martha J., 81, of Tucson, died peacefully on August 24, 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Marcia J. Bates of Van Nuys, CA; nephew, James McNaught of Rockford, IL; and niece, Sue Dye of Tucson. She was active in the Tucson Women's Club, the Daughters of the American Colonists, and the Mended Hearts. A resident of Tucson for 25 years, she worked as a driver's license examiner with the Arizona State Department of Motor Vehicles before retirement. Prior to moving here, she accompanied her husband, Robert J. Bates, a construction company executive, as they lived and worked in cities all over the U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii, and Canada. He worked for Kaiser Engineers, Bechtel, Brown and Root, and Metcalfe-Hamilton among other companies. As they moved around, she created a new home for her family in each new place, over 50 times in all. Her humor, spirit, and steadfastness will be greatly missed. A celebration of her life will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, August 27 at The Sunrise Ridge Apts Clubhouse, 4901 E. Sunrise Dr.
CLAIRWOOD, Helen Reagan, 72, of Douglas, AZ, died peacefully at home on August 23, 1998. She is survived by her loving husband, Donald 'Howdy' Clairwood; children, Jim Reagan, Pamela Reagan (Larry Koussa), Trish Cheney (Les) and Maureen Goergen (Marv); seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by son Patrick in 1951, first husband, James D. Reagan in 1980 and brother, Roy Nadeau in 1989. Peggy B. Clark, 93 years young, entered the Gates of Heaven into GOD'S arms on August 15, 1998 at the Cascades Assisted Living facilities. Her wish to join her beloved husband, Merrell who passed away in 1981, after 56 years together was fulfilled and she is now happy and at peace. She is survived by a niece, Mrs. C.L. (Flo) Davis of Texas and nephew, Bill Manny of Phoenix; her 'special family, ' Esther and John, Gil, Shari, Brooke, Shannon, Gabe and Rick Feldman. Also very special friends, Andrea Hopper, Denis Cournoyer and Polly Thompson. Peggy was a 'people' person, full of life, love and laughter. She cared about everyone and they returned their love, as well as care and comfort right to the very end…Darlene and her Assisted Living Staff at the Cascades and the Carondelet Hospice Staff. Peggy also leaves many other close friends from Tucson, El Paso and Fredericksburg, TX. Peggy often said she was 'blessed' with the love of so many, and the life she had with Merrell, and on the ranch in Las Cruces, NM as a child. Peggy was the niece of the infamous Judge Roy Bean of TX, her father was Sam Bean, his brother. A service of Love and Memories celebrating the life of Peggy B. COCHRAN, Sheila M., passed away August 25, 1998, and is resting peacefully. She was born in Norwich, England and moved to Tucson in Aril 1984. She was a special Wife and a wonderful Mother. She is remembered as a warm hearted, caring, generous and gentle person by all who know her. DEVLIN, James Edward, age 92, of Sandy Springs, GA, formerly of Tucson, AZ, died August 24, 1998. A native of Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Devlin was a retired claims adjuster with Mayflower Transit. He was a volunteer for the Pima County Sheriff's Department while living in Tucson. Mr.Devlin was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. Surviving are his wife, Margaret M. Devlin; son, Irvin R.
