PRISER, Robert L., born May 28, 1921, peacefully entered into rest on August 28, 1998, with his family around him. He is survived by his wife, Jill; his sister, Dorothy Williams of Irving, Texas; his son, Larry Priser of Tucson; his daughters, Valerie Priser of Tucson; and Linda (Pancho) Zenizo of Sierra Vista; his grandson, Alex Robert Zenizo; and granddaughter, Heather; as well as many nieces and nephews. He spent his youth in Tucson and in Ohio, and graduated from Tucson High. He attended the University of Arizona before joining the 71st Eagle Squadron of the Royal Air Force during WWII as a fighter pilot flying many missions over Germany. When the American pilots were transferred to the 8th Army Air Force, he was named Squadron Leader of the 353rd Squadron. While stationed in Debden, England, he met Jill and they were married on Christmas Day, 1943. In January 1944 he was shot down over Belgium and was hidden by the Belgian Underground for nine months until Brussels was liberated. For his military service, he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross. After the war, they moved to the U.S. and finally settled in Tucson, where he joined Hughes Aircraft as an engineer, retiring after 30 years of service. During his retirement he enjoyed building and flying radio control model airplanes, and was a member of the Tucson Radio Control Club, enjoying many happy hours at the flying field. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Memorial Service to be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 1, 1998 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, Tucson.

Patricia Louise Cade-Young, age 64, of Tucson, AZ, passed away Saturday, August 29, 1998 at her home. Mrs. Young was born January 31, 1934 in Elkins, WV, the eldest daughter of the late Albert and Gladys Cade. Survivors include the father of her children, Roy Lee Young; son, Charles Albert Young; daughters, Cynthia Louise O'Connor, Cheryl Gladys Poe and Kimberly Ann Arias and seven grandchildren, five from Tucson, one from Maryland and one from California. Mrs. Young was a graduate of Elkins High School and Strayer Business College. She had been employed as a secretary for the House of Congress on Capitol Hill and an Import and Export and administrator in Maryland. She had been also employed for the state of Arizona for 16 years before retiring. While Mrs. Young was married she traveled in the middle east and Europe during her husbands 20 years tour in the Navy. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Elkins, WV and will be laid to rest in the Brick Church Cemetery in Huttonsville, WV. The Funeral Services will be through F.E. Runner Funeral Home in Elkins, WV. Local arrangements are by VALLEY FUNERAL HOME.
DEY, Howard E., Colonel, USAF (Ret.), 81, died Thursday, 27 August 1998. He is survived by his wife, Adele Dey, Green Valley, AZ; a daughter from a previous marriage; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a nephew. Colonel Dey had a distinguished career with the United States Air Force. As a B-17 combat crewman in World War II he was shot down over Germany and held prisoner in Stalag 3 until the end of hostilities. He was recalled for duty in 1951 during the Korean War. Subsequent assignments were completed at Maxwell AFB, Alabama; Sandia Base, Albuquerque, New Mexico, USAF Detachments in Morocco; Strategic Air Command Headquarters, Omaha, Nebraska; Upper Heyford Air Station, England, Ramey Air Force Base, Puerto Rico: Scofield Barracks, Hawaii and Fort Campbell, Kentucky. His last assignment before retirement in 1972 was Chief of Security, Air Training Command, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas. He moved to Arizona in 1973, residing in Tucson, Pinetop, and Green Valley. His professional career in Arizona as a noted watercolor artist was highly regarded by contemporary art groups. He was a member of the Watercolor Guild of Southern Arizona and the Santa Cruz Valley Art Association. His retirement years in Arizona were dedicated to the accomplishment of many artistic renderings. His golf schedule was a labor of love. He was a member of the Board at Pinetop Country Club and a member of the Blanchard Course on Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. There will be no memorial services. Interment will be at the Arlington National Cemetery Columbarium, Arlington, Virginia. Arrangements by Green Valley Mortuary.
Louis C. Dion, Jr. (Maj. USAF Ret.), 80, went to be with his Lord on August 28, 1998. Born November 15, 1917 in West Hartford, Connecticut, came to Arizona in 1937, he left to join the RCAF in Canada in 1939. A veteran of WWII, he served as a pilot during the Battle of Britain and was a member of the Eagle Club with the RAF. He continued to serve as a combat pilot after being transferred to the US 8th AF in 1943. He flew 105 different aircraft during his military career until his retirement at DM in 1963. Among his military honors was the Bronze Star with Clusters. He attended several universities at his various posts in NY, MD, IL, NM, TX and the UofA. He was a member of the Tucson Retired Officers Association, American Legion Post 36, VFW Post 4903. Predeceased by granddaughter Desiree Dion, survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothea; daughters Dorothea Warren, Katherine (Harold) Henderson; sons Louis Charles III (Laura), William; sisters Cosette Schweitzer and Yvette Zembrowski; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family expresses it thanks to Hospice Staff at the VA Hospital for their kindness and care. Funeral mass will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows on Thursday September 3, at 10:00 a.m., visitation will be at Wolfrey Peace Chapel, 5225 E. Speedway on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the VA Hospice, the American Legion or the charity of your choice.
ENGELMANN, Rachel, 78, died Saturday, August 28, 1998. Born Mamie Rachel Dearing, March 13, 1920 in Shepp, TN. In 1948 she and her husband, Al with their two eldest children moved to Tucson. For the next 20 years, Rachel and Al shared their growing family with many friends at N. Tucson Baptist church. Upon their move to Sahuarita in 1970, they helped establish a new church home, Green Valley Baptist Church. Rachel's gift of hospitality was her special ministry throughout her life. Rachel was employed as a cook for several years in Amphi Schools, and then in the Sahuarita School District from which she retired in 1985. Rachel faced several life threatening illness with such strong faith that her life became an inspiration and testament of God's grace. Rachel is survived by her husband of 50 years, Al; her sister, Mildred Lowery; her children, Virginia Street, Cheryl (Jeff) Phillips, Evelyn (Michael) Damento, Alice (Wayde) Campbell; grandchildren, Jane, Jean, Judy, Carolyn, Gena, Julia, Wesley and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a young son, Charles. Friends may call at GV Mortuary, 2200 N. Beloved wife of Maurice R. Nesseth went to be with her Lord on August 29, 1998. Dora worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 32 years in Duluth, Minneapolis and Bismarck, N.D. before retiring in 1968 to Tucson. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, T.O.P.S. and the Jacobs Jesters. Dora loved to sing and play her ukulele and organ. Her laughter and songs will be dearly missed by her many friends and surviving family members including May Glad, Diane (Gary) Rice, Charles Galloway, Marilyn (Bruce) Gustafson, William H. PASCOE, Lucy Lair, born February 26, 1917 in Montclair, NJ and died August 30, 1998 in Tucson. She grew up in Hinsdale, Ill., attended Penn State College and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. During World War II she was active in a civilian role with the Air Transport Command and received a commendation for her efforts from General 'Hap' Arnold. Miss Pascoe spent 15 years with TWA as head of TWA's Statistical Dept. Her next career move was to Benton and Boles Advertising in New York City where she served as an executive of the company. In 1978, Lucy retired to Tucson where she spent her remaining 20 years. Lucy's love of gardening led her to her job at Harlowe's Nursery, and she donated many hours to Tucson Botanical Gardens where she served as a docent, wrote a column for Newcomer Gardeners, and served on the board. She leaves a sister, Frances Pascoe of West Hartford, Conn. and a stepsister, Alice Nielsen of Tucson and many friends from Tucson's gardening world. PRICE, Robert William, 83, died on Sunday, August 30, 1998 after a summer long battle with pneumonia. Originally from Salt Lake City, Bob took pride in his alma mater, the Colorado School of Mines, and his work with the Army Corps of Engineers to build the Al Can Highway. After service as an officer during WWII, his career as a mining engineer took him to Latin America, Spain, Australia and the Philippines. A love of both travel and sailing propelled Bob and his wife, Rosella, to the far corners of the earth…all under sail. They returned their catamaran to Mexico after serval years of cruising by sailing it home across the Atlantic and through the Panama Canal. The crossing made Bob the oldest 'Skipper' to cross the Atlantic in 1987. The sailboat gave way to a camper and the sailing continued…by land instead of by sea. His life was rich in adventure and friends. Bob is survived by his wife, Rosella; his sister, Arlene; his daughters and son-in-law, Gail, Ann and Steven and his stepchildren, Cynthia and Dennis.
