Felix Borboa Lechuga

Felix B. Lechuga, 85, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2003. He was born October 12, 1917 in Hermosillo, Mexico.

Felix was a minister for 45 years.

Felix is survived by his daughters, Regina, Hortencia, Sara, Oralia, Norma, and Phoebe; sons, Daniel Aaron, and Moses. He is also survived by 42 grandchildren, 89 great grandchildren and 54 great-great grandchildren.

A wake will be held Friday, June 6, 2003 from 5pm-9pm at Sunset Vista Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2003 at 9:00am.

Reverends Amador Preciado, Sergio Arellano, Daniel Nunez and Daniel Parra. Felix’s final resting place will be Sunset Vista Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Moses A. Lechuga Sr., Moses Lechuga Jr. , Aaron Lechuga Jr., Felix Lechuga, Elias Lechuga, and Edward Osuna.

Francisco Ramirez Naranjo
Francisco Ramirez Naranjo, 68, of San Luis, Ariz., died June 5, 2003, in Yuma Regional Medical Center.

He was born April 1, 1935, in Villa Corona, in Mexico's Jalisco state, and had been an agricultural foreman.

All services will be held in San Luis Rio Colorado, Son., with burial today at 6 p.m. in the city cemetery in that city. Yuma Mortuary & Crematory is handling arrangements.

Maria De Jesus Ojeda
Maria De Jesus Ojeda, 79, died June 5, 2003, in her Yuma home.

She was born Jan. 14, 1924, in Villanueva, Mexico, and had been a homemaker.

A wake will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Kammann Mortuary Chapel, with rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Burial will take place at Desert Lawn. Kammann Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Rhonda Joyce Luker
Rhonda Joyce Luker, 50, passed away of cancer on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 in Tucson. She was born on January 24, 1953 in Salinas, California.

Rhonda graduated form Yuma High School in 1971.

She is survived by her mother Lola Luker; daughter Courtney Reyes-Warne; sister Verna JoLuker; and grandchildren Samantha, Brenden and Cory.

She was preceded in death by her father Loyd Luker and brother Gary Luker.

Marjorie Darcy Snyder
Marjorie Darcy Snyder died June 4, 2003 at Life Care Center of Yuma at age of 87. She was born in Lawrenceville, Pennsylvania to Michael F. and Tessie Stage Darcy, March 5, 1916.

She and her husband Emery moved to Coolidge in 1949 from Ontario, New York. She graduated from Geneseo State Teachers College in 1937 and Arizona State University in 1951. She taught in a one-room school in Hammondsport, New York and taught 6th grade for 26 years in Coolidge, Arizona. Her avocation was writing poetry.

She was an active member of Coolidge United Methodist Church, a past President of Coolidge Woman’s Club and a 4-H leader for many years. She was active in United Methodist Women and American Association of University Women, holding positions at district and state level in both organizations.

She is survived by her sister Helen Anderson and husband Andy of North Port, Florida; her daughters Bonavere Stuhr and husband Wayne of Wellton, Arizona; Phyllis Maugans and husband Bill of Mesa, Arizona. Grandchildren Debbie Frazey and husband Mike of Meza, Arizona, Garrick Stuhr of Mendota, California; Sheri (Stuhr) Neumayer and husband Bowie of Plano, Texas; Tyson Stuhr and wife Stacey of Gila Bend, Arizona and Ryan Stuhr and wife Rosario of Wellton, Arizona and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Emery and sister Dorothy.

A memorial service will be held at Coolidge United Methodist Church at a later date.

Pamela S. Pietro

Pamela S. Pietro of Yuma died June 1, 2003, at Yuma Regional Medical Center at age 48.

She was born July 14, 1954, in Denver and was co-owner of Golden Gate Candy.

Kammann Mortuary is handling arrangements, including private cremation.

Ruth A. Wallace

Ruth Anna Wallace of Yuma died June 1, 2003, at Yuma Regional Medical Center at age 73.

She was born April 4, 1930, in Bethlehem, Pa., and had been a licensed practical nurse at a hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in Yuma.

Kammann Mortuary is handling arrangements, including private cremation.

Kenneth O. Wiscarson

Kenneth O. Wiscarson died May 30, 2003, at his Yuma residence at age 63.

He was born Jan. 5, 1940, in Hillsboro, Ore., and was a retired civil service employee.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Kammann Mortuary, which is in charge of arrangements, including private cremation.

Wilda E. Melewski

Wilda E. Melewski of Yuma died June 2, 2003, in Yuma at age 83.

She was born May 27, 1920, in Red Bank, N.J., and had been a homemaker.

No services are planned. Sunset Vista Funeral Home is handling arrangements, including cremation.

Harold Carl Foerstner

Harold Carl Foerstner longtime Yuma resident, passed away on May 30, 2003 in Soap Lake, Washington. He was born August 8, 1912 in South Amana, Iowa to Carl & Wilhemina (Heistermann) Foerstner.

He graduated from the University of Iowa and married May Clarke of Mobile, Alabama in 1938. He worked with the Iowa Geodetic Survey until 1941, when he transferred to the Jefferson Proving Ground in Madison, Indiana. In 1954, he transferred to the then Yuma Test Station and retired from the Yuma Proving Ground in 1974.

Harold is a Past Master and 50 year member of the Carrollton Lodge, #134 F & AM, Carollton, Kentucky and Past Patron and 50 year member of the Carroll Chapter, #442, Order of the Eastern Star. He is also past president of the Carrollton Kiwanis Club. In Yuma, he served on the vestry of St. Pauls Episcopal Church and is a past president of NARFE and a HODAR.

Survivors include wife of 65 years May; sister Elsie Foerstner, Chicago, Illinois; daughter June Lee, Soap Lake, Washington; sons Clarke Foerstner, Cathedral City, California; James Foersner, Yardley, Pennsylvania; Lee Foerstner, Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; and Rick Foerstner, Denver, Colorado; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

The lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Youth Forum Southwest, 1550 S. 14th Ave., Yuma, AZ 85364.

There will be a viewing on Sunday, June 8, 2003 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Kammann Mortuary, Yuma. Graveside services will be held at Desert Lawn Memorial Park at 9:00am on June 9, 2003. This will be followed by a service at St. Pauls Episcopal Church at 10:00 am.

Alice Bradwell Ish

Alice Bradwell Ish was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 27, 1918 to Evelyn Rupp and Raymond C. Bradwell. She passed away after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease on May 30, 2003 at her home in Yuma, Arizona.

Alice attended Saint Angela's Catholic School in Chicago and was awarded a Bachelors Degree from De Paul University. Alice was a champion of education and all four of her children earned advanced degrees.

Alice and her family traveled extensively and live in Japan, Libya, Egypt, Greece, Norway and Italy (her second home) during her husband’s military career and later while he was an executive with oil companies. During all the years of living abroad, Alice and her family experienced many adventures. These included living through a devastating earthquake in Fukui, Japan that destroyed all the family’s belongings while seven months pregnant with her son Edward. He was later born, no worse for wear, in Kyoto, Japan. Later, during her long stay in Libya, Alice lived through being evacuated during the Arab/Israeli conflict in 1967. The family was later expelled from Libya during the coup’d’etat of Khadafy in 1969.

For nineyears in Tripoli, Libya, Alice instructed Libyan women to become teachers of English at the Libyan Women’s Teacher’s College. Later, as a Real Estate Broker in Covina, California, Alice established London Taxi Realty Company and also worked in Commercial Real Estate in the Washington, D.C. area. Along with holding a Broker’s License in California, Alice was also licensed in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia and New York. In her spare time, Alice enjoyed playing and watching golf, crossword puzzles, reading and current events. She also volunteered to teach Sunday School for Saint Martin’s Parish in La Mesa, California.

Alice was married 63 years to George Drexel Ish and had four children, Kathleen Connor Lansing, Kansas, Brad Ish of Petaluma, California, Edward Ish of Fairfax, Virginia and Georgina Hanna of Yuma, Arizona. Alice had 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She instilled in her family the values of faith in God and devotion to family. She is deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Johnson Mortuary, with rosary at 4:00 p.m. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Holy Cross Cemetery in San Diego.
