MOSELEY, Fern Spolander, longtime Tucson resident passed away Monday, October 12, 1998 in Tucson, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lt. Colonel Frederick Norman Moseley. Fern is survived by her son, Jack Moseley and daughter-in-law, Bonnie; grandson, Patrick (Tamara) Moseley; granddaughter, Susan (Lon) Newsom; granddaughter, Peggy (Larry) Allen and grandson, Kelly (Kathy) Clark. Also survived by great-grandchildren, Thomas Jack, Kaitlyn, Patrick, Bobbie and Russell. She was a member of Casas Adobes Congregational Church. Born in Kansas City, Missouri on February 12, 1911. She was a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism; a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and a 60 year member of PEO. Fern took great pride in her lifetime community service including both leadership and volunteer positions with the American Red Cross, Northwest General Hospital, Elks Club Women's Auxiliary, Women's Fellowship of Casas Adobes Congregational Church and various other organizations in the Tucson area. Fern's passions for painting, traveling and loving friendship as well as her strong spirit will be missed by her family, friends and her community. SMITH, Clifton H., age 79, of Tucson, AZ, died Wednesday, October 14, 1998. Survived by his son, Steven L. Smith and daughter-in-law, Kathy Hawkes Smith. Clifton H. Smith was born in Yonkers, New York on March 25, 1919. He served in the South Pacific during World War II where he received a Bronze Star. After the war he married his childhood sweetheart, Jean Mayo Smith. In 1954 they moved west. They stopped in Tucson where they fell in love with the southwest. Clif joined the Arizona Trust Company and was a vice president at his retirement in 1981. He and Jean were married 44 years before she predeceased him in death in July 1990. He now again has joined his best friend. Following his wishes, there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the S.A.L.T. WINDLE, Kraig Lee 'Regis' age 35, of Tucson, Arizona and formerly of Sioux City, Iowa died Tuesday, October 13, 1998 in Sioux City hospital after a short illness of cancer. Kraig was born February 14, 1963 in Sioux City to John E. and Joanne (Junck) Windle. He graduated from North High School (Sioux City) in 1981. He lived in Tucson, Arizona from 1988 until returning to Sioux City in 1998. Employed by the Village Inn, Olive Garden and recently joined Jim Click Auto Team in Tucson. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He served with the U.S. Navy and the Army Reserves. Survivors include his parents, John and Joanne Windle of Sioux city; six brothers and their wives, Kirk and Sharon of Sioux City, Kim and Micki of Omaha, NE, Kevin and Gloria, Ken and Veronica, Kelly and Patsy, Karey and Deb all of Sioux City; a sister and her husband, Kathy and Shaun Sarff of Sioux City, a special friend, Mark Fox and several nieces and nephews. CATHERINE S. BRADLEY
Catherine S. Bradley, 89, Tucson died Monday, October 12, 1998 at her home. Funeral services and burial will be held in Springfield, Ohio. Catherine was born May 30, 1909 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of William and Margaret (Gable) Spencer. She had three brothers and five sisters all of whom preceded her in death. Her husband, Harry W. Bradley, served as Manager of Purchases for International Harvester Company, Chicago, Illinois prior to his retirement after 40 years of service. he died in 1977. After completing her education, Catherine worked for the City of Springfield, Ohio as a secretary for the Director of Health, the City Clerk and the City Manager. The Bradleys lived in Chicago for 25 years. In 1965, after building a home in Tucson, they retired there and kept up their interest in golf and travel. For many years, in both Chicago and Tucson, Catherine was very active in promoting and organizing junior girls golf and women's golf clubs and received an award for her work from Tucson Sports Writers. In Chicago, as a member of United Volunteer Services, she and other women golfers from every golf club in Chicago on a rotation basis, daily entertained veterans in Hines, Downey, and West Side Hospitals. The group of volunteers, known as the Golf Swing Club, is still active. She was a member of A.D. Chapter of P.E.O., Delta Theta Tau Sorority, Rolling Hills Garden Club, and the Tucson Roadrunners Women's Golf Association. She was corporate secretary of Rollings Hills Golf Club for 21 years and served on the Board of Directors for the Women's Golf Association of Arizona as Chairman of the Southern Division. For 11 years she served on the Tucson Parks and Recreation Master Recreation Committee and was a sustaining member of the Tucson Parks Foundation, sponsor of the LPGA Golf Tournament. She also was an active volunteer for the PGA Golf Tournament for Conquistadors and for the LPGA annual tournament at Randolph golf course in Tucson. For 14 years she was an active driver for Mobile Meals. Catherine leaves many friends and many nieces and nephews and their families mostly in the Midwest. Memorial donations may be made to local paramedic organizations, Ronald McDonald House or a favorite charity.
James Donald Hand, Of Tucson, died October 12, 1998 at his home. James was born July 29, 1962 in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended Douglas schools and attended Cochise College where he received his AA degree. He also attended Northern Arizona University and Pima Community College. Jim worked for the Forest Service. He enjoyed school. He was a good uncle and especially nice to his niece, Stephanie (Pumpkin) and his nephew, Curtis (Fill Bill). He was loved and will be greatly missed by all his family. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Patricia Hand of Douglas; sister, Kimberly (Glenn) Ray of San Diego; brothers, Mike (Holly) Hand of Las Vegas and David (Janet) Hand of Tucson; grandmother, Betty Hand of Spokane, Washington; nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Curtis, Taylor and Kelsy Hand and Tyler and Kyle Ray. Following his request, he will be cremation and a private family service will be held. KINGSTON, Shirley M. (Hunter), died October 14, 1998. Survived by James M. 'Jim', her husband of 52 years; a sister, Jean Varcoe of Rapid City, SD and a brother, Richard J. Hunter of Hot Springs, SD. Jim and Shirley have four adult children, James H., Karyn J. Ullery, Robert J. and Kathleen M. Flaccus and nine grandchildren. Shirley was raised on a ranch in western South Dakota, and graduated from South Dakota State University. After teaching for one year, she enlisted in the Navy and served as an Ensign in the Medical Corp. Discharged in 1945 she accepted a teaching position in Nebraska where she met and married her husband. The family located in Tucson in 1958. Shirley resumed her teaching career in 1970 teaching at Palo Verde High School and retired in 1982. She was an active member of P.E.O, Chapter BQ, Skyline Women's Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow of Catalina Rotary as well as a founding member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. A Celebration of her life will be held at St. Paul's UMC, 8051 E. Broadway Blvd. 85710 at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 1998. PATTON, James, 81, of Tucson, passed away on Monday, October 12, 1998. Mr.Patton is survived by his children, John B. (Anne) Patton, Carolyn A. Padgett, David J. (Nancy) Patton. Also surviving Mr. Patton are six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a sister, Edith Chicherillo. Mr. Patton served in the 11th Calvary Regiment prior to WWII. During WWII, he served in the 91st Bomb Group and the 9th Bomb Wing during the Korean War. Mr. Patton also served as Service Officer and Commander for the VFW Post 4903. Martha Beatrice Sholley - Born April 28, 1917 in Winfied, Pennsylvania and went to be with her Heavenly Father Wednesday, October 14, 1998. Martha is survived by her husband, Raymond of 54 years; sons, Raymond (Patricia) Sholley, Jr. of Springerville, AZ and Gary L. Paul David Anselmi, a memorial celebration in honor of the lifeof Paul David Anselmi will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday the 19th of October at 48 Placita del Saco. His friends are invited to attended. Anselmi, 63, of Rock Springs, WY, died at 5:03 a.m. Sunday, July 5, 1998, at the Memorial Hospital at Sweetwater County shortly after being admitted. A lifetime resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Mr. Anselmi died suddenly from natural causes. He was born November 10, 1934 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. He was the son of John B. and Lilja Malmberg Anselmi. He attended the Abbey School in Canyon City, Colorado and graduated in 1952. Anselmi attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated in 1956 with a degree in business administration and commerce. He married the former Patricia Tomsik in Rock Springs on April 19, 1958. Anselmi was a businessman and entrepreneur and operated Anselmi's Fine Cars from 1962 to 1987. He was also involved in the car rental business, hotels and real estate development. Mr. Anselmi was also the chief executive officer of American National Bank. Mr. Anselmi spent most of his winters in Tucson, Arizona. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Rock Springs and Tucson. His pursuits included playing poker and pan, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren and family. Survivors include his wife, Pat; his son, Paul Thomas Anselmi; his daughter, Liisa and her husband, Clark Stith and his daughter, Michelle Anselmi; his is also survived by two brothers, John M. Anselmi of Rock Springs and Donald R. and wife, Dora Anselmi of Jackson; his three grandchildren, Morgan Anselmi of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Kirsi and Steven Anselmi Stith of Rock Springs; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, William A. Anselmi and Thomas Anselmi. His body was cremated following a memorial mass of Christian burial on July 8, 1998 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. The Reverend Thomas Millane of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Tucson concelebrated the mass with the Reverend John Savio of the Holy Spirit Catholic Parishes in Rock Springs.
CALDERON, John R., 65, of Tucson, passed away October 14, 1998. Preceded in death by parents, Joaquin and Fidelia Calderon. Survived by sisters, Theresa C. (Eleazar) Leon, Mary C. (Richard) Tellez and Josie C. (Oscar) Rosas; brothers, Joaquin R. (Mary Ann) and Joe R. (Nohemi) Calderon; father figure to Joanne M. Gutierrez and Diane Leon. Also survived by six nephews, nine nieces, numerous great-nephews and nieces. Mr. Calderon retired from the Arizona State Dept. of Transportation. He was in the U.S. Marine Corps. and served in the Korean War. He received three medals: National Defense, United Nations, and the Korean Service Medal.
