HERRERAS, Rodolfo 'Wilo' 96, of Tucson, passed away October 14, 1998. Survived by nieces, Dolores (Pablo) Hernandez, Lupe (Samuel) Escarsega and Lupe Gallego; nephew, Richard (Rachel) Ortega, Jr. Also survived by numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 18, 1998 from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Guadalupe, 401 E. 31st St. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Monday, October 19, 1998 9:00 a.m. also at the Chapel of Guadalupe. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. The family would like to thank his caregiver, Connie M., for her many years of loving service. Arrangements by CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.

Maston M. Jacks, age 82, a resident of Williamsburg since 1985, died Sunday, October 11, 1998 at his home. Mr. Jacks, a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, was born in Douglas, Arizona. His schooling in Arizona included attending the University of Arizona. However he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas in 1939 and went to work for the Tucson, Arizona Daily Citizen as a reporter and part of the editorial staff. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1941 and was commissioned at 2nd Lt. in 1942. He served throughout WWII in the Central pacific and survived B-24 bomber ditching during a bombing mission against Tarawa. He was discharged as a Major in 1946 and recalled to active duty during the Korean Conflict. In the interim, he worked as an editor for Popular Mechanics Magazine (Chicago) and associate editor for Sunset Magazine (San Francisco) and as a reporter/rewrite man for the San Francisco Examiner. He subsequently served in key public information positions as a Lt. Colonel. He was Chief of Public Information Operations, worked with Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, and was Chief of Plans and Production Division of the Strategic Air Command's Office of Information. Retiring after serving 26 years in the military, he had earned the Legion of Merit, Purple Heart, and the Bronze Star medals. For the next 12 years he was employed in divisional and corporate public affairs assignments with Fairchild Industries. He retired from Fairchild in 1979. He is survived by a son, Maston Thompson Jacks of Raleigh, NC; a daughter, Susan Burkett, Westfield, MA; a grandson, Adam Burkett. A service of Remembrance was held Thursday, October 15, 1998 in the Bucktrout of Williamsburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Warrick officiating.Entombment was at Arlington Nations Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Support Care of Williamsburg, 312 Waller Mill Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185. Bucktrout of Williamsburg is in charge of the arrangements.

KINGSTON, Shirley M. (Hunter), died October 14, 1998. Survived by James M. 'Jim', her husband of 52 years; a sister, Jean Varcoe of Rapid City, SD and a brother, Richard J. Hunter of Hot Springs, SD. Jim and Shirley have four adult children, James H., Karyn J. Ullery, Robert J. and Kathleen M. Flaccus and nine grandchildren. Shirley was raised on a ranch in western South Dakota, and graduated from South Dakota State University. After teaching for one year, she enlisted in the Navy and served as an Ensign in the Medical Corp. Discharged in 1945 she accepted a teaching position in Nebraska where she met and married her husband. The family located in Tucson in 1958. Shirley resumed her teaching career in 1970 teaching at Palo Verde High School and retired in 1982. She was an active member of P.E.O, Chapter BQ, Skyline Women's Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow of Catalina Rotary as well as a founding member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. A Celebration of her life will be held at St. Paul's UMC, 8051 E. Broadway Blvd. 85710 at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 1998. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Educational Loan Fund of P.E.O., 7628 N. Sonoma Way, 85743 or to Tucson Metropolitan Ministry-Children's Village, 3127 E. Adams, 85716.

ROYALTY, Emily, passed away of a sudden illness on October 14, 1998 at Yuma Regional Medical Center, Yuma, AZ. Surviving are her husband, Jim Royalty of Tucson, AZ; four sons, Tom Fowlks, Tim Fowlks, John Sauber of Tucson, AZ, Charles Sauber of Clark Lake, MI; two daughters, Michelle Armstrong, Horton, MI and Tamara Chastain, Pennsville, NJ; 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Private Service will be held October 17, Lake Havasu, AZ.

COLEMAN, Yvonne L., 48 of Tucson passed away October 14, 1998. Preceded in death by sister, Elmira Grant. Survived by mother, Francis Graham; son, Cledtis (Rachel); sisters, Genevieve Coleman, Rosemary Coleman; brothers, Oscar H. Coleman, Clyde Graham. Also survived by six grandchildren. HUOTARI, Frederick Arthur, born May 13, 1917, died October 14, 1998. Born in Castlewood, South Dakota, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Marcia B. Huotari; his parents, John and Anna Huotari and his brother, Vince Huotari. Mr. Huotari graduated from Hayti High School in South Dakota in 1935 and served in the US Army during WW II, stationed in Hawaii. He is survived by stepson, Jerry Ainsworth; three step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be Tuesday, October 20, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd. with visitation one hour prior at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, an Aftercare Provider.

Jesus T. Martinez, Sr., 70, of Tucson, passed away October 16, 1998. Survived by his wife of 49 years, Celia V. Martinez; daughters, Teresita Martinez, Alicia (Rene) Moreno, Monica (Jeff) Romero; sons, Ricardo Martinez, Jesus (Melissa)Martinez Jr., Carlos Valenzuela; sisters, Ramona (Rogelio) Bravo, Maria Moreno, Elvira (Samuel) Olalde; brother, Enrique (Noami) Martinez. Also survived by 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 1998 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, South Chapel, 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Wednesday, October 21, 1998 at 11:30 a.m. at St. John's Church, 602 W. Ajo Way. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Perry C. Munday - Passed away on October 14, 1998. Born on March 9, 1908 in Keysville, Virginia, he was 90 years old. Preceded in death by his wife, Wanda and grandsons, Billy D. Munday and Gary C. Munday. He is survived by his sons, William A. Munday and James A. (Marlene) Munday, both of Tucson; brothers, Clay Munday of NC, Shirley Munday of MI, Joe (Sylvia) Palczewski of MI; grandchildren, Steve Munday and his daughter, Shyann of OR, Sue Munday of OR, Greg Munday of Tucson, Candi Martin of CA, Jackie Yeoman of CA and Sheri Smith of NJ as well as many great-grandchildren. A Prayer Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, October 23, 1998 at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Keyberry Mission Samaritan Care Center in Benson, AZ. Mrs. Eva Doak Nagore, Matriarch of the Nagore Family Dies
Born on April 9, 1899 in Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico, passed away at home in the company of her children and grandchildren on October 17, 1998, at the age of 99. In her final days, as throughout her life, she was surrounded by her faith and her love for God. As a single parent she raised 11 children. She taught her children to love the Lord and dedicated all of them to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Her religion and faith gave her the strength to overcome the many challenges life presented her.
'Grandma' (Abuelita), as she was called by all who knew her, lived in Chihuahua until the age of 15. She fled, along with her family, to the United States during the Mexican Revolution, and went to Mexico City in 1934 with her husband, Vincente and their children. In 1944, Eva and her children returned to the United States. She was determined to educate and raise them to become successful members of the community.
Eva had a special gift for making each person feel as though they were the most important person in the world, and a part of the family. Her graciousness, humility and hospitality will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Eva is preceded in death by her daughter, Eva (Norman) Zwick; son, Charles (Margaret) Nagore; grandson, Troy DeLeon; great-grandsons, Jake Nagore and Gabriel Salzbrenner; her brothers, Willie and Sam Doak; and her sisters, Isabel and Josefina Doak and Sophie Padilla. She is survived by her children, Frank (Marge) Nagore, Joe (Maggie) Nagore, Rosie (the late Patrick) Rumps, Sam (Margarita) Nagore, Mary Louise Nagore, Gilbert (Lucille) Nagore, Carmen (Jack) Rumps, Manny Nagore and Lola (Hugo) DeLeon. She is also survived by her brother, Charles (Ruth) Doak; 44 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Grandma personified pure, unconditional love. She will always be remembered as a woman of strong faith and one who loved the Lord deeply. She never let anyone leave without her special blessing, 'God bless you all the way.'
God bless YOU all the way, Grandma.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Casa De Los Ninos or to the American Cancer Society in memory of Eva Doak Nagore. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 1998 at Sacred Heart Church at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 1998 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 5:30 p.m. and a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3435 N. 1st Ave. (888-1111).

NETTLESHIP, Lucille Severance, 93, died October 16, 1998 at the Hanover Terrace Nursing Home in Hanover, NH.
She was born December 10, 1904 in Willsboro, NY, daughter of Rolland and Flora (Smith) Severance.
She graduated from Willsboro (NY) High School and from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY in 1925. She was President of her Sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta. She married Charles F. Nettleship, Jr., August 30, 1926. Mr. Nettleship died September 20, 1992. She was president of the American Association of University Women. She served as President of the Maplewood, NJ and Silver Spring, MD, PTA. During WWII she worked as a Red Cross Nurse's Aid at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C., and after the War at Veterans Hospital in Boston, Mass. She died Meals on Wheels in Hartford, CT, and Tucson, AZ. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross blood programs in MA, NJ, MD, CT, and AZ. She was active in Visiting Nurses Association as Director in Hingham, MA. She was director of the T.B. Christmas Seal Program for the Greater Hartford, CT, area. She was a member of the Hingham Congregational Church and served as President of the Monday Guild. Over her lifetime she has lived in Willsboro, NY; Newark, NJ; Maplewood, NJ; Silver Spring, MD; Hingham, MA; Hartford, CT; Tucson, AZ. She moved to Woodstock, VT, in 1993. She summered in Holland, MA, and Woodstock, VT. Mrs. Nettleship was a kind, loving person, beloved by her children and grandchildren. She traveled extensively throughout the world with her husband. She loved handiwork, gardening, and family, but the greatest of these was family.
She is survived by one son, Charles F. Nettleship, Woodstock, VT; two daughters, Eleanor J. Bowersox, Frederick, MD and June S. Barnes, Concord, MA; one sister, Kathryn Makosky, Tucson, AZ; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by one granddaughter.
Services to be held in Willsboro, NY, at alater date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Woodstock Visiting Nurses Assoc., 32 Pleasant St., Woodstock, VT 05091.

REMICK, Dorothy, 'Dolly, ' 77, of Tucson, died October 15, 1998. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Remick. Survived by cousin, Tootie Bieri; and friends, Martha Spurrier Himmelmann, and David & Tanna Romberg. She was active in the Lions and Lioness for the past 13 years; was past president of Lioness 21-B and a volunteer at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church for the past 10 years. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lions Eye Bank or charity of your choice. Service 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 1949 E. Helen. STRAUS, Anna Toby, 77, died October 16, 1998. Wife of Abraham Straus; Mother of Ira (Nancy) Straus, Mitchell (Debbie) Straus and Gary (Ida) Straus. Grandmother of Tammy, Jeff and Amanda; Brother Abe Kreitman also survives. Family services were held. Donations in Anna's memory may be made to American Diabetes Association, 40 N. Flora M. Babich, age 68, born Flora Underwood on August 17, 1930 in Lee County, IA, died on October 16, 1998 in Tucson. Flo passed away peacefully in her home after a brief illness. She was attended to lovingly by her family and the caring staff at Carondelet Hospice. Flo and her husband John moved to Tucson from Moline, IL in 1971. She worked for TUSD Food Service for 19 years prior to her retirement from Ft. Lowell School in 1992. Flo was known to open her home, her arms and her heart to many. She was greatly loved by her family, her extended family, friends, neighbors and the children at Ft. Lowell School. She will be missed by all who knew her as 'Grandma Flo'. Flo was preceded in death by her husband, John; brothers, Ralph and Dude Underwood. She is survived by her children, Becky (Bill) van Zyll, Greg (Colleen) Babich, Deb (Craig) Rogahn, Rick (Nancy) Gleize, Linda (John) Hough, Donna (Kevin) Trausch and Melanie (Bob) Pavlet; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Dodie Croxton, Iva Withrow and brother, Sonny Underwood. Family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions to a charity of your choice. Barbara Boyd, 55, of Tucson, moved to eternal peace and happiness after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and a wonderful friend to many. She will be missed greatly by her husband, David; daughters, Sherry (Dillon), Cindy (Matt) and Diana; mother, Evelyn Copeland; sister, Rita Copeland and grandchildren, Blayne, Arian, Jonni and Jaime. Many other friends and family members also survive. Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, October 21, 1998 at 4:00 p.m. at Northminster Presbyterian Church located on the southwest corner of Ft. Lowell and Tucson Blvd. with Rev. Ken Skodiak officiating. In lieu of flowers, Barbara has requested donations to the Humane Society. Arrangements by VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 327-6341.

Joan Luft Cohen, 57, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Schenectady, NY, died of ovarian cancer on October 17, 1998. Joan, a loving wife, mother and friend is survived by her husband, Max; her children, Laura, Dan and Eileen; their spouses, Marina Kvitnitsky and David Hartig and her mother-in-law, Shirley 'Nana' Cohen. Joan started her own property management company 'Joan Cohen and Associates, Inc.' and watched it prosper before selling the business and retiring. Her business introduced her to many people throughout Tucson and across the country, many of them have become her special friends. Her friends and family will remember her fondly for her kindness, courage, and her healthy, of not unusual, sense of humor. Joan was an avid tennis player and enjoyed going to Mexico and other tropical places for sun and beach. She believed that love, laughter and happiness were the most important things in life. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Joan's Memory to the Arizona Cancer Center/UAF, PO Box 245013, Tucson, AZ 85724-5013, Attention Dr. David Alberts, to be used for research on ovation cancer. Although Joan has lost her battle with cancer we wish to continue to fight against this disease. Hopefully this will spare future generations the hardships of cancer.

DIAZ, Reynaldo, 89, of Tucson, passed away October 17, 1998. Preceded in death by his wife, Margarita and parents, Filomeno and Guadalupe Diaz. Survived by daughters, Dora Rosenberg, Guadalupe Diaz, Sylvia (Hector) Lopez, Beatriz Diaz; son, Francisco (Rebecca) Diaz; sister, Guadalupe D. Suarez. Also survived by 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 21, 1998 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (Center Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Thursday, October 22, 1998 at 9:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Church, 1220 S. 6th Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Mr. Diaz moved to Tucson in 1983 from his hometown of Tubutama, Sonora. Where he was loved by everyone who knew him. We'll miss you Papa. Arrangements by CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.

Marvin F. Farmer, 83, died October 18, 1998. Brother-in-law of Earlene Farmer and Jo Breene. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth in 1992. Marvin was a Retired Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He served as a Deacon since 1978, at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church and Camlu Retirement Residence. He was a 4th Degree Knight; James Weber Assembly: Knights of Columbus. Mass will be offered 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 21st at St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco. Burial in Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery with full military honors by Davis Monthan Elite Honor Guard. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20th at the church, with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.
