TURNER, Mary Lou, born in Muskogee, OK March 23, 1911, died on December 3, 1998. Mary graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1932, receiving her Degree in Dietetic. She was a Violinist-on Live Radio Broadcast KVOO in Tulsa, Okla, she taught school at Carney & Seminoke, OK. Mary married Dr. James M. Hesser, MD in 1932, later, in 1950 she married Donald J. Turner. She was a Major with Civil Air Patrol in 1961. Mary did various volunteer work which include: VFW Aux. 1972, VFW Hospital 6000 Hours, Benson Woman's Club 50 years, American Red Cross Chairman for: Dragoon, St David, Benson 50 years. She was also a Pioneer Member of First Baptist Church 50 years, Sunday School teacher, pianist, church officer, Zeta Tau Alpha, founder of ZTA Alumna, Tucson Active in Local Bowling League, First Administrator of Benson Hospital, Accredited 1 American Hospital Association Nurse. Survivors include son, William T. (Evelyn) Hesser of Loveland, CO; daughters, Donna (Gene) Schull of Benson, AZ and Lois Bell of Montgomery Village, MD. Also, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held Thursday, December 10, 1998, 7:00 p.m. at Community Presbyterian Church, Benson, AZ. IGOU, Anne Garren, born October 12, 1930 in Madison, Wisconsin, died November 10, 1998 in Tucson, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Una Pidcoe. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1953, taught elementary education in Madison, WI, San Rafael, CA and Tucson, AZ. She also worked for the Nevada State Welfare Department and the Pima County Adult Education Department. She was involved in many volunteer organizations in Tucson including the Tucson Adult Literacy Program and the League of Women Voters. She is survived by a sister, Patricia Kessenich of Spring Green, WI; and a brother, William Pidcoe of Augusta, GA; two nephews, Andrew (Joanna) and Michael (Mary Lynn) Kessenich of Madison, WI and two grand nephews. LIND, Iona S., of Oro Valley, AZ, went to be with her Lord, December 7, 1998. Iona was born in Ilmajoki, Finland on May 4, 1909. She was one of 13 children and is now survived by two sisters, Helena Loukasmaki and Anja Metsa-Ketela, who reside in Finland. Son, Alden E. (Ora) Lind, Duluth, MN; daughter, Arlene Lehto (George Avis), Oro Valley; and grandsons, Gary E. Harvell and Tommy Lind, both of Duluth, MN, also survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lind in 1976. Iona was the owner-operator of Twin Points Resort, Highway 61, Two Harbors, MN, for 57 years before retiring. She moved to Oro Valley two years ago. Iona is mourned by her family and her housemates at La Canada Lutheran Home. She touched the lives of many hundreds of her customers who remained her friends. Rev. Alexander David Machain - A retired Roman Catholic Priest of the Diocese of Tucson, died Friday, December 4, 1998 in Tucson after a long illness at the age of 75. Father Machain provided 47 years of faithful service to the Diocese of Tucson. A native of Pottstown, PA, Father Machain attended the Pontifical College Josephinum in Worthington, OH, and was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Tucson in 1951. His parochial assignments included service as associate pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, Bisbee (1951-1954); pastor of Sacred Heart Parish Bisbee (1954-1960); pastor of Blessed Sacrament Parish, Tolleson (1960-1969); pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Hayden-Winkelman (1971-1976); pastor of Blessed Sacrament Parish, Mammoth (1976-1977); associate pastor of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Florence (1977-1981); pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes, Benson (1988-1992); and administrator of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Welton (1994-1995). Other assignments included service as Catholic chaplain at the Arizona State Prison, Florence, (1977-1981) and at Perryville Prison (1981-1988). Father Machain is survived by his mother, Mrs.Carmen Araujo Machain of Pennsylvania; sisters, Sr. Alexandria Machain, Mrs.Mercedes Moughan and Mrs. Betty Turhedsky, all of Pennsylvania; brothers, Rev. BRYCE NATHAN WILSON - Born February 14, 1974 was the love of our lives. He touched so many, many hearts with his outgoing personality, love and compassion. Bryce was a local bartender who loved people and always entertained his customers with his outstanding 'bar flair' tricks. He finished in the top ten in the regional bar competition held in California this year, which is amazing for his first time competing. There were so many lives that he changed for the positive by just being Bryce; PV quit smoking, JW became an incredible person with the help of his best friend, Bryce and BR learned how to love two sons so deeply with his support and love. Bryce's dreams for the future were to be the #1bartender in the region, move to La Jolla, CA and just to live a wonderful, long life. Bryce Wilson died December 4, 1998 at the age of 24 years young as a result of being a rear seat passenger in a one car rollover accident on November 27, 1998. We will all miss him so. Bryce is survived by his mom, Bobbi Rego; his brother, Wade Wilson; stepfather, Dennis Rego; sister-in-law, Beate; friend, Jeff; father, Rich Wilson and so many other people who loved him. Mary Lou Stephenson Emerine, 90, died in her sleep on December 8, 1998. A native of Alma, Ill., she was raised in Marion, Ill., and was a nursing graduate of the Kirksville (Mo.) College of Osteopathic Medicine. She and her husband, Edward, who died in 1981, published newspapers in Boise, Idaho, until moving to Phoenix in 1963 and Tucson in 1965. She was a founding member of the Democrats of Greater Tucson. Survivors include her son, Steve, Tucson; a grandson, Eddie (Melissa), Tucson; a granddaughter, Keely (Jeff) Mix, Monroe, Wash.; three grandchildren, Anthony and Jonah Mix, and Lauren Emerine; and her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Emerine, Tucson.
