Chelsea Davidson Bouchee - A radiant presence in the lives of all who knew her, died December 7, 1998, at age 16 in a fatal car accident. A native of Tucson, she was born April 6, 1982. She attended St. Michael's Day School from which she graduated at the completion of her eighth grade year. She then enrolled at Salpointe Catholic High School where she was currently in her junior year and consistently a high-honors student. She also contributed considerable time to community service as a volunteer worker, first, at the Ronald McDonald House and then with Kid Line, the crisis hotline for teenagers. Her greatest hobby and passion was dancing. Particularly accomplished in the area of ballet, she danced numerous years in Tucson Regional Ballet Company's Christmas performance of the Southwest Nutcracker Ballet. This year she had been offered a place in the Senior Company. Due to the extensively increased demand this would have placed on her time, she opted to pursue continued excellence as a student and, therefore, declined. Chelsea is survived by her parents, Janice and Paul Bouchee; four siblings, R. Coleman Walker IV, Heather Walker Lewis, Alexandra Kate Bouchee, Justin Cody Bouchee; a sister-in-law, Susan Walker; a brother-in-law, Dr. Jeffrey P. Lewis; a nephew, Todd Holden Lewis; an aunt, Gail Bouchee; and a host of devoted relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Salpointe Catholic High School Scholarship Fund, the Tucson Regional Ballet Scholarship Fund, or St. Michael's Scholarship Fund in the name of Chelsea Davidson Bouchee. BUSHNELL (Beauneir), Polly Stone, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on December 8, 1998 after a brief illness. She is survived by her loving husband, Howard P. Bushnell; daughters, Polly Rod of Tucson and Barbra Stone of Florida; stepsons, Richard and Kirk Bushnell of Canada; grandchildren, Christopher Rod, Jennifer Sandberg, Charlotte Chiapparelli, Geoff Rod, Jonathon Gayer, Susanne Beauneir, Kristi Gayer and Allison Beauneir. Polly is also survived by six great-grandchildren and nephew, Ralph Stone. She was preceded in death by her son, Elbert Beauneir, Jr. and her brothers, Koerner and Archie Stone. CANFIELD, Beverly M., 72, of Tucson, passed away December 8, 1998. CHAPMAN, Bertram N., born December 29, 1911, passed away December 6, 1998. Born in Cranston, R.I., son of William W.Chapman and Edith P. Crowell. Attended Broad Street Grammar School, Providence, Technical High School. Member 122nd Cavalry R.I.N.G. and 103rd Field Artillery R.I.N.G. Also 13th U.S. Infantry, and was a veteran of World War II. married in Oaklawn Community Baptist Church, Cranston, to the late Ruth Baker Chapman also of Cranston and was a member there from 1940 to 1952. He was Assistant District Commissioner of Boy Scouts in Cranston and Cubmaster of Oaklawn Pack #1, a member of Post 0102 American Legion, a member of Warwick Lodge #16 A.F. & A.M., Past Patron of Ruth Chapter #5 O.E.S., Deputy Tax Assessor for the City of Cranston from 1948 to 1952 when he moved to Tucson, Az. He worked for Hughes Aircraft Co. of Tucson until he retired in 1971. He was a member of Adobe Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Tucson and Altan Kol Grotto. A licensed minister of Metropolitan Baptist Church, he did missionary work in Southern Arizona and Mexico and with the Navaho in Window Rock, Az. for about seven years. After the death of his beloved wife, Ruth he moved back to Cranston in 1987 and later married Pearl E. Howe, a life-long friend. He is survived by a son and two daughters: Walter W. Chapman of Longwood, FL., Lynda R. Thompson of Prescott, AZ., Phyllis Young of Hereford, AZ., six grandchildren, and one great grandson. He was the brother of William W. Chapman, Jr., Beatrice C. DAVIES, Mildred R. On December 7, 1998, Mildred R. Davies, 85, passed peacefully into the Lord's care after a lengthy decline. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas, on May 8, 1998. They had been married 63 years and were the parents of Robert (Elizabeth); grandparents of Gretchen Bailey and R. Blaze Davies; great-grandparents of Adriana and Ted Bailey, and Kyle and Rowan Davies. Mrs. Davies was a creative and talented woman whose needlework was unsurpassed, and whose gentle ways and caring heart will be missed. A Memorial Service for both Mr.and Mrs. Davies is planned for Sunday, December 27th at 2:30 p.m. at El Camino Baptist Church, 7777 E. Speedway, Tucson, with a reception to follow. EARL, Howard D., age 87, died December 6, 1998. Mr. Earl worked for New York Life Ins. Co. for 52 years. He was a veteran of WWII serving with Photographic Reconnaissance Squadron of the Army Air Corps. Howard had a wonderful sense of humor, was an avid golfer who was a member of Rolling Hills Golf Club. He is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Jonathan Earl; daughter, Andra Ketham; grandchildren, James Patrick and Matthew Ryan Ketcham. At his request no services will be held. MANGELS, Glenn, 75, passed away December 9, 1998. Born in Rolla, Kansas, October 17, 1923. Survived by Ruth, his loving wife of 56 years; mother, Maymie; son, Chris (Gail); daughter, Cindy McEwen (James); three grandchildren, Christopher, Jessica and Jamie; brother, Van (Lois) of Kansas and sister, Lois Warner. Glenn first entered the real estate business in 1946 and opened Greater Arizona Realty Inc. in 1964. He was the first President of the Tucson Real Estate Exchangers and Past President of both the Tucson MLS and Tucson Association of Realtors. Glenn was also the current Chairman of the Board of Stewart Title and Trust of Tucson. Glenn was a 32 Degree Mason who gave freely of his time. Glenn was also an avid deep sea fisherman who spent many fishing trips to Mexico with friends and family. RICKER, E. William, 76, of Tucson, passed away at home on December 8, 1998. He is survived by his loving wife, Lois; son, David; daughter-in-law, Brenda; four grandsons, Joshua, Benjamin, Michael and Zachary, of Tacoma, Washington. He is also survived by his sister, Madeline Swain of Sudbury, Massachusetts, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia in 1992. Bill graduated from Bowdoin College in 1946 after serving 2 1/2 years in the United States Army. Bill and his family moved to Tucson in 1956 where he was employed at the R.C.A. Engineering firm for 10 years. He worked for two years at Bell Aerosystems, then joined University Hospital prior to its opening in 1968. He transferred to the University of Arizona as employment manager in 1970 and retired in 1988. He is remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was active in his community and his church. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 750 W. WEST, Robert Elmer, 78, a resident of Modesto CA, for eight years, died December 8, 1998. He was born on September 6, 1920. A native of Kansas, he was a member of Rotary of Arizona, Master Mason, US Judo Assoc, WWII Army Vet. and American Industry of Mining Engineers. THEODORE LEE WHITAKER, 67, died December 8, 1998. Husband of Maureen Whitaker; father of Ellen King, John and Robert Whitaker; grandfather of Kristen and Lauren King and Brad Whitaker; brother of Elizabeth Hall, Don B., Robert O., Lewis M., Richard J. and Philip L. Whitaker. Nieces and nephews also survive. He was a retired career Air Force Meteorologist and a Vietnam veteran. After retirement he worked as a meteorologist for Phelps-Dodge and as an environmental specialist at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. He was also a member of RONCO Men's Golf Association.
