Thomas George Mezei, 48, passed away September 22, 2003 at his residence. He was born in Ogden, Utah on February 22, 1955. Tom was the owner of G&T Locksmith Safe & Alarm Company and also Telephone Central. He was a member of BPOE (Elks), Harley Owners Group (HOGs), Rolls Royce Owners Club, and the Yuma Chamber of Commerce. Tom was also a drummer for Dogs inHeat.
He is survived by his wife, Shelly Mezei; daughter, Brianna Mezei; son, Aaron Mezei; and parents, George and Flo Mezei.
Tom was preceded in death by his sister, Christine.

Ethel Manyan O’Brien
Ethel Manyan O’Brien, 69, passed away September 23, 2003 at YRMC. Ethel was born in Laveen, Arizona on November 20, 1933.
Church services will be held on Friday, September 26, 2003 at the Ft. Yuma Methodist Mission at 4:00 p.m. with Tribal Rites to follow at the Quechan Big House. Cremation will be at 5:00 a.m., Saturday, September 27, 2003.
Rita “Precious” Rachel Aguirre
Rita Rachel Aguirre, 26, passed away at home on September 18, 2003. She was born December 9, 1976. She is survived by her soulmate Fernando Perez and her four children Steven Aguirre, Lydia Perez, Ivette Perez, and Fernando Perez, Jr. Her mother Mary and Stepfather Diego Humildad, brother Cyrilo Aguirre, sisters Yolanda and Melissa. Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many close friends. She is preceded in death by her father Cyrilo Aguirre, grandmother Rita Ortiz, uncle Steve Nunez and grandfather Frank O. Nunez.
Pallbearers are Cyrilo Aguirre, Isaac Ortiz, Felix Ortiz III, Freddie Mesa, Fernando Perez and Frederick Perez. Honorary Pallbearers are Felix Ortiz, Jr. and Freddie Mesa, Jr.
Gerald retired from Wean United Engineering in Canton, Ohio where he was a metallurgist. He was a member of Sierra Vista Presbyterian, Elder, a member of Masonic Lodge #60 (Canton, OH), past Monarch Nazir Grotto (Canton, OH), past President of the Stark County Men’s Garden Club, and past President of the American Foundrymens Association, Canton chapter.
Gerald was avid in hunting, fishing, camping, lapidary, and the Arizona Desert.
Gerald is survived by son, Gerald W. Moorhead of Canton, OH, and Winoma J. Maag of Yelm, WA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Winifred in February, 2003, daughter Necia and three grandchildren.
Memorial services were held in Yelm, WA.
William Smith
William Smith, 71, of Yuma, died Sept. 22, 2003, at his home.
He was born Dec. 21, 1931, in Greybull, Wyo., and was a retired law enforcement officer.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Catalina Square.

She was born Nov. 20, 1933, in Laveen, Ariz., and was a homemaker.
A funeral service will take place 4 p.m. Friday at the Fort Yuma United Indian Methodist Mission at Fort Yuma, with Quechan Indian tribal ceremonial rites to follow at the Quechan Reservation Big House. Cremation will be 5 a.m. Saturday at the Quechan cemetery.

Gertrude E. Lawrence, 74, died Sept. 20, 2003, at her Yuma home.
She was born Feb. 2, 1929, in Detroit and had been a restaurant waitress.

Jack Henrickson, 76, of Yuma, died Sept. 14, 2003, in Yuma.
He was born Oct. 3, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio, and had been a retired supervisor for United Airlines.
Viewing will be today at Sunset Vista Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Mass will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church.
Burial will take place at Sunset Vista Cemetery. Sunset Vista Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Boyd Paul Willett
Boyd Paul Willett, 76, of Yuma, died Sept. 12, 2003, at his residence at 76.
He was born Jan. 30, 1927, in Indianapolis, Ind., and had been a prototype model maker. He had previously served in the Navy.

Forrest C. ‘Frosty’ Braden
Forrest C. “Frosty” Braden died Sept. 12, 2003, at his Yuma home at age 94.
Born Nov. 3, 1908, in Eureka, Kan., he had been the owner of agricultural and farm machinery businesses.

Carlos E. Duarte
Carlos Edgar Duarte, 49, of Somerton, died Sept. 11, 2003, at Yuma Regional Medical Center.
A former construction laborer, he was born Sept. 7, 1954, in San Luis Rio Colorado, Son.
A wake will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a rosary at 7 p.m., at Yuma Mortuary. A scripture reading will take place 9 a.m. Tuesday at Yuma Mortuary. Burial will be in Desert Lawn.
John ‘Jack’ Hamilton
John “Jack” Hamilton, of Yuma, died Sept. 11, 2003, at Yuma Regional Medical Center. He was 76.
Born Aug. 8, 1927, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, he was a retired ditch rider.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson Mortuary. A funeral service will take place 10 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson Mortuary. Burial will be in Desert Lawn.
Mr. Bauch is survived by two sons, Gordon (Linda) Bauch of Yuma, AZ and Vern Bauch of Bend, OR; one daughter, Darlene (Bob) Alexander of Anaheim, CA, and one step-daughter, Darlene (Jessy) Alexander of Jayess, Mississippi.
Service arrangements were handled by Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, Mississippi. Funeral services were held September 11, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in Jayess, Mississippi.
