VILLA, Ernest H. Sr., age 72, went home to be with our Lord on Christmas Day. John Frederick Angell, 103, a resident of Tucson, died December 27, 1998. Survived by wife, Helen; stepdaughter, Lorraine Morales; stepson, Luis Rene Morales; local grandchildren, Stephanie (Mario) Teran and Larry (Hanna) Hoffmeister and six out-of state grandchildren; brother, Carroll Angell of St. Paul, MN; nephews, John F. Angell, III and Carroll Angell, Jr.; nieces, Connie Matt and Mary Hilling; numerous great nieces and nephews also survive. John Frederick was born in St.Paul, MN. During his lifetime he was one of the founders of the FDIC where he held a supervisory position in Washington, DC. He served his country during WWI. Upon his return he lived in Chicago, Oklahoma City and Colorado Springs among other cities where he was president of various banks. He was a a philanthropist and member of Skyline Country Club, Mountain Oyster Club and originated the Over the Hill Gang for retired officers of the Armed Forces in Colorado Springs. BALCERZAK, Henryk S. - Beloved husband, brother and father, Henryk S. Balcerzak, passed away on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1998. He was educated in Film and Photographic Arts, and worked for the Department of Defense Audio Visual Service for 35 years. He is a life SMPTE member. He was an army veteran, and will be interred at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Hope Balcerzak of OroValley; his younger brother, Stanley Balcerzak of Roanoke, VA and Carol Ann Honaker, stepdaughter, of Fontana, CA. He will be greatly missed. BEAL, C. Gordon, 80, died December 7, 1998 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital in Deming, N.M. He was born December 3, 1918 in Lawrence, Massachusetts and attended school in Lawrence and Methuen, Massachusetts. He joined the Navy in 1934 andlater retired as Commissioned Warrant Officer in 1959. He was a longtime resident of Tucson from 1961 to 1998 where he owned and managed Tucson Beauty Supply until his retirement in 1994. He was a charter member of Sabbar Shrine and had been an active member of the Old Pueblo Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his wife, Jane; a son, Don and his wife, Rayma; a granddaughter, Kristin Beal all of Lexington, Kentucky; a daughter, Sherry and her husband, Frank Knoop of Deming, N.M.; grandchildren, Anne and her husband, Cass Keeler and four great-grandchildren all of Deming, K. C. Knoop of Coast Guard, Fort Hood, CA, Buffie Meeker of Phoenix, AZ, Travis Knoop of LDS Mission Santiago, Chile; a brother, Robert E. Beal of Salem, N.H.

BRECKON, Herbert C. (M/Sgt USAF Ret.), 71, a resident of Tucson, died December 27, 1998. Preceded in death by wife, Vera; daughter, Christine; and son, Herbert Lee. Survived by sons, Michael (Christine) and Jeffrey (Deidra); grandchildren, Courtney, Caitlin, Jordan and Christopher; sister, Jane; brothers, Eugene and Bill. Herb served in the US Air Force as a Communications Operator and Radar Technician for 21 years, serving in both the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict, before retiring and taking up a career as a service technician with Sears. A second career that spanned more than two decades and earned him the respect and friendship of his colleagues and many of the customers he served. He touched everyone he knew with his sincerity, honesty and his sense of humor. He was a great teaser and could lift a person's spirit even during the darkest of times. He showed a rare devotion and love for his family and was a true inspiration for his friends. CARLSON, Helen Grace, age 72 years of Tucson, died Friday, December 25, 1998. A native of Tucson she was a State Legislator for District 13 in Tucson from 1970 until 1974. She is survived by her husband, Robert G. Carlson of Tucson; son, Robert G. John J. Gerardi, born October 12, 1931 in Bokoshe, OK, passed away December 26, 1998. Preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Vida Gerardi; his uncle, John 'Streets' Bolcic and brother, Arthur. John is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughter, Barbara (Tim) Sumner and sons, Mark and Richard; grandchildren, Michael and Sheena Sumner and Jessica Campbell; and sister, Vida Angela (David) Spellman, as well as many other relatives and friends. He has been a member of IBEW Local 570 for 40 years. He retired from the University of Arizona electrical department in 1992. He painstakingly restored a 1936 Pontiac and was a member of the local Pontiac club. A.B. 'Clee' KAZANTZIS, born October 15, 1938, in Akron, Ohio, died quickly and unexpectedly on December 26, 1998. He was a resident of Tucson for35 years. He is survived by his loving wife Dolores and children, Kyra and William, as well as his mother Helen and his brothers, George (Vonnie) and Angelo (Sherrie). Clee was hard-working, generous and good and his passing has broken the hearts of his friends and family. He will be missed terribly by many. Clee served in the United States Navy for three years in his youth. After his service, he attended the University of Akron and was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Clee was an electrical engineer and an assistant director of operations at Hughes Missile Systems Company for 30 years and retired in 1996. During the 1970's, he was active in the Tucson Youth Football League, with his son. From 1987 to 1993, he was the Vice President and a member of the El Rio Health Center Board of Directors. Since his retirement, Clee had devoted himself to perfecting his culinary talents, traveling the world with his beloved wife, and working on the betterment of Tucson, the city he loved, through his service as the Vice President of the Board of Directors of Tucson Clean and Beautiful. A memorial service at the Santa Cruz River Park at 'El Paseo de los Arboles' will be held in January at a date to be specified later. Danielle Nostrand, 16, went to be with Jesus at her home in Kansas City, KS, December 26, 1998. Born in Tucson October 27, 1982 and moved to Kansas City, KS at age six. Danielle attended Deaf & Blind school in Tucson, and Turner School and The Blind School in Kansas City, and was a member of Bristol Hill United Methodist Church. Danielle was stricken at age 4 1/2 with Neurofibromatosis and under went eye surgery Radiation and did great for approximately 10 years, in the last few months the NF returned and took her life. Danielle was a most happy child always friendly with everyone, always giving everybody something especially things she had made. Loved school and church. Gave her life to Jesus at camp. Thanks to all who had her in their prayers. She is survived by her father and mother, Rick and Judy (Sevits) Nostrand; sister, Nicole; grandparents, Wally and Mary Sevits, Larry and Dee Nostrand and Cy and Lou Stevens; uncle, Joe Sevits; aunt Kathy; Melonie, Melissa, Matthew, Anthony; aunt Bonnie; uncle Doug; cousin Tena, Kenny; uncle John.
