Jack Craven, Gentle and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend went to our Lord on January 2, 1999. He was a master carpenter and a member of the Carpenter's Union for over 50 years. He was past president of Tucson Association for the Deaf and an active member in the deaf community for many years. FARMER, Clarence Cody, 76, of Kingsport, TN, died Sunday, January 3, 1999. Born in St. Charles, Va., he was a resident of Arizona for many years and moved to Kingsport after his retirement. LINDA 'LIN' HALL, born March 11, 1948, passed away January 2, 1999 at age 50. Preceded in death by husband, Tim Hall and father, Howard Granger (MI). Survived by son, Scott Hall, 19; daughter, Cathy Burgess, 26 (Husband, Jeff Burgess); two grandchildren, Sabrina and Katelin Burgess; and mother, Ester Lossing (MI). She was a strong and courageous woman who always had a positive attitude and did not let her health challenges slow her down. An avid hunter and sportswoman, Lin was a member of the Tucson Rod and Gun Club for over 20 years, holding a 2-year position as the first female president, and serving as secretary, historian and BBQ chairman and co-chairman. Lin was also very active in the Boy Scouts as a leader, den mother, and volunteer at the Boy Scout Council, and she held other various leadership positions. As a Girl Scout leader, Lin was involved in many service projects on Mt. Lemmon, such as the building of handicap ramps at Showers Point, and other various activities. She was employed at the University of Arizona for 30 years as a secretary and administrative assistant. 110% was the 'norm' of effort given to all of the different organizations in which she was involved, but especially in motherhood.
Mom, you were an inspiration to us all. You were 'Mother of the Year' to us for each and every loving and caring day of your 26 years of parenting. You will be missed more than any words could possibly express, and we will always hold you close in our hearts. When our family is reunited in Heaven, we know that you will be waiting for us with open arms to give us each a big hug and many kisses. We are comforted knowing that you will be watching over all of us through the 'Holes in the Floor of Heaven'.

KEMP, Gordon R., 77, died peacefully at home on January 4, 1999. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Geraldine; sons, David (Patsi) and Gregory (Terry); grandchildren, Michelle, Paul, Brian, Becky and Evan; great-grandsons, Ivan; sister, Dorothy (John) Denhof; and brother, William. Mr. Kemp was born September 22, 1921 in Stambaugh, MI and lived there 30 years before moving first to Carlsbad, NM, and then to Tucson in 1960. He worked for Duval Corp. for 34 years before retiring as Manager of Materials. He was an award-winning master woodcarver and painter whose love of nature inspired magnificent works of art. FAULL, William Lee. Beloved husband, father and grandfather, died in Tucson, AZ on January 2, 1999 of cancer. He was born in Chicora, PA on March 5, 1921. Following graduation from Smethport High School, Smethport, PA in 1939, he joined the United States Army. In 1943, he graduated from Officer's Candidate School and rose to the rank of First Lieutenant serving in the Signals Intelligence Service during World War II and the Korean conflict in the Second Signal Service Battalion. He was honorably discharged in August 1951 and made his home in Bradford, PA. He completed course work through Pennsylvania State University.
Working as manager and later President and CEO of the Hardes Lumber Company, he pioneered a philosophy of of renewable resource forest management, starting the first 'Tree Farm' management program in Pennsylvania in 1955. Chairman of the Pennsylvania Forest Industries Commission, President of the Penn-York Lumbermen's Club; President of the Northeastern Loggers Association; Director of the Bradford School Board; Co-Chair of the Elk Lick Boy Scouts Council; County Chair for the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis (the March of Dimes); Chair of the Business Development Committee for the Community Chest; member of the Vestry at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Bradford; 32nd Degree Mason, Smethport Lodge #388, and the Coudersport Consistory: he served his community and chosen profession for more than 20 years before retiring and moving to Tucson, AZ in 1968.
He remained active in Tucson, volunteering as an NRA certified marksmanship instructor at the Tucson Rod and Gun Club and flying sailplanes with the Tucson Soaring Club. He volunteered as an amateur radio license examiner with the Old Pueblo Radio Club and served as volunteer radio operator with Pima County Emergency Services, R.A.C.E.S. He served on the International Board of Directors for the Cornish-American Heritage Society. He was a member of St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Lucy; and by his daughters, Suzanne Shoults and Sandra Faull. After Lucy's death he was blessed with nine more years of happiness with surviving wife, Elinor Bonnett Faull. He is also survived by his brother, Ralph Faull of Mt. Jewett, PA; and sons, Lee Faull, Rochester, NY, John Faull, Tucson, AZ, and Mark Faull, Springfield, IL; and numerous grandchildren.
When he was 17 years old, he piloted his home-built kayak 240 miles from the headwaters of the Allegheny River to its terminus in Pittsburgh; in 1953 he helped fly a single engine plane to Havana, Cuba. Later it was trophies earned in road rallies. In his 50's he became an instructor pilot in sailplanes and earned several Diamond ratings in his single seat glider. In his 70's he returned to amateur radio and earned his 'Extra' class license, call sign 'NK7R'. He was a gentleman and a man of honor. The twinkle in his blue eyes belied his crusty exterior:he loved life and people and that love was returned a hundred fold. He will be missed.

HOMYACK, Robert Steven, 57, of Tucson, died January 6, 1999.
