DOUGLAS HAMILTON HILL, 53, died on February 8, 1999. Born in Peoria, Illinois on December 5, 1945, he grew up there, relocating to Tucson in 1969. Doug worked for Kentucky Fried Chicken and then as a self-employed restaurant equipment service man. Diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1985, he eventually quit work, but enjoyed volunteering at the Tucson Botanical Gardens with the Kactus Krew. He loved nature and photographing desert flora, preserving olives, hiking, star-gazing, and birdwatching. He also repaired antique clocks, listened to books on tape, and helped friends with home improvement projects. He is survived by his wife, Lynne Weinberg-Hill; his father, Walter H. Hill, Jr. of Tucson; his brother, Kenneth H. Hill (Kathie) of Moline, IL; and his sister, Vicki Graham (Jim) of Tucson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth J. Hill and sister, Catherine J. Shettlesworth. A memorial service will be held at the Tucson Botanical Gardens in the Reception Garden, 2150 N. HOWARD, Helen, 77, died February 11, 1999. Preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Broussard in 1980. Peggy Juliette Kellner - Went home to her Lord on Wednesday, February 10, 1999. We rejoice in the comfort of knowing that our beloved Sister, Aunt, Cousin, Teacher and Friend is returned to our Lord and is in the presence of His everlasting love. Although she has departed this earth, Peggy's extraordinary presence will live on through the many lives she has touched. She mentored and inspired many designers, performing artists, and technicians with her wealth of knowledge, genius talent, spiritual understanding and wisdom. Peggy was instrumental in the evolution of theater in Tucson and went on to design at the Old Globe Theater in San Diego for 20 years. She returned to teach costume and set design at the University of Arizona and her students live and work all over the country. After her retirement, Peggy continued to design for the Music Theater of Wichita and was looking forward to the upcoming season. Because the gifts that Peggy gave permeate so many of our lives and because we loved her so deeply, we will truly miss her. Peggy went about doing great things with her talents in grand ways – may we honor her by emulating her. Peggy is survived by her brother, John F. (Deon) Kellner, her brother, Walter J. (Shirley) Kellner; her 10 nephews and nieces, and her nine great-nephews and great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her brother, Alexander R. Kellner. KILLIPS, Danforth, born in Chicago in 1918, died February 11, 1999 in Tucson. He graduated from Northwestern University in 1941 and Northwestern Law School in 1947. From 1941 to 1945 he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. In 1947 he married Leslie Parker of Evanston by whom he is survived. He is also survived by sons, Bruce Danforth and John Mitchell; daughter-in-law, Susan; and grandson, Kristopher Danforth. He practiced law in Chicago from 1947 to 1952. In 1952 the family moved to Colorado Springs, where he was an owner, director, and officer of Looart Press. He was also a director of Growth Industry Shares, a Chicago-based Mutual fund, and was active in Colorado Springs civic affairs. In 1960 the family returned to Evanston, where Mr. Killips was an investment advisor for 14 years. In 1974 he and Mrs. Killips moved to Tucson, where he continued to practice as an investment advisor. He remained an outside director of Looart Press until 1983. SAVANNAH ELAINE VAIL - Today the battle is won. Savannah conquered her struggle with cancer, and now she is resting peacefully. Although Savannah's life was short, she truly knew how to live each moment to the fullest. She taught many of us how to live a lifetime in a day. This alone is an amazing accomplishment.

WOOTEN, Henry W., 79 of Tucson, went to be with the Lord February 13, 1999. Survived by wife, Dorothy Wooten; sons, Dwight (Lynda) Wooten of Kuttawa, KY, Rudy (Janice) Wooten of Creston, CA; daughter, Jan (Gary) Shrader of Tucson; sister, Mae Byrn of FL; brother, Willard Wooten of KY; late brother's wife, Agnes Wooten of KY; grandsons, Keith, Micah, Elliott Shrader, and Wayne Wooten of OR. Henry started preaching in 1943, pastoring several churches in Arkansas, Michigan, Kentucky and Tennessee. He arrived in Arizona in 1956 and pastored several churches in Arizona until retirement in the early 80's. He served in many capacities within Southern Baptist life, and he was a chaplain at Tucson General Hospital for five years. Henry was known for his funeral ministry, preaching almost 3000 funeral services in his life. He loved baseball, having played semi-pro ball and collected one of the most extensive baseball card collections in the country. Henry loved the Lord most of all and loved sharing Jesus with those he met. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones and by those he touched through many years of friendship and ministry. MALLOY, Bettye June, 72, died February 14, 1999. Cause of death was from kidney and liver disease, complicated severe anemia from bleeding ulcers. She was well known for many charitable activities and was blessed with countless friends around the country. PITRE, Susan Knez, died in Houston, Texas on February 8, 1999. Susan Elizabeth Knez was born on November 13, 1953 in Tucson to Robert and Katherine G. Knez, educated at Whitmore Elementary School, Townsend Jr. High School and graduated from Catalina High School. She attended NAU and received her MBA from ASU with highest honors. Her father, Robert, and grandparents, Jim and Viyeta Knez, and H.W. and Edna Griffiths predeceased her.
Susan leaves her daughters, Michele Pitre of San Francisco, Erica Halle (Brandon) and children, Alex and Isabella Halle of Fountain Hills, AZ, and sisters, Stana Knez of Eugene, Oregon and Nancy Knez Smith (Randy) of Scottsdale. Her mother, Katherine, resides in Tucson. James Pitre of Mesa, former husband, and nephews also survive.

RAINSBERGER, Iris S., 86, of Oro Valley passed away February 12, 1999. Mrs. Rainsberger was a Motion Picture Editor, Cartoonist. She is survived by sister, Carol Kitchen of San Juan Capistrano, CA; daughters, Nancy (Philip) Kiraly, Barbara (Jerry) Schneider, Ellen (David) Schlemmer; ten grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was a lifetime member of Motion Picture Editors' Guild, Oro Valley Country Club, Volunteer Service for The American Cancer Society, and The American Red Cross.
