STANLEY HENRY BLUHM, 76, passed away Monday, February 22, 1999. Born in Armada, Michigan, he moved to Tucson over 40 years ago. He retired from Tucson Medical Center, where he worked as a painter for 12 years. He is survived by his wife, Edith; daughter, Ruthann Witham; sister, Ruth Parrish; stepson, James Smith and stepdaughters, Elaine Draves and Bonnie Singley. He was preceded in death by his son, Stanley Frederick.
Stanley was an active member of the Knights of Pythians. Prior to illness forcing him to retire, Stanley was on the Grand Lodge finance committee. He had held the office of Grand Treasurer for the Grand Lodge and Pima Lodge #9. He had also held office as the Past Chancellor of Pima Lodge #47, Past Grand Chancellor Domain of Arizona and Past Deputy Supreme Chancellor for the State of Arizona. Stanley was also affiliated with the Odd Fellows Lodge and an active member of the Saint James Methodist Church. Stanley will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends who knew they could always expect good-hearted teasing and a ready smile.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 27 at St. James Methodist Church, 3255 N. Campbell at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow at the church. FINCH, Nathaniel Dean, 43. He was born on May 29, 1955 and died February 22, 1999 in his sleep. He is survived by his wife, Vela Ramsey Finch and stepson, Samuel Ramsey, both of Tucson; his mother, Mrs. Mae Finch; three brothers, Rusty, Johnathan and David; a son, Nicholas all of Colorado Springs, CO; a sister, Bonnie of Hotchkiss, CO. He was in car sales and an entrepreneur. Private services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 1999. JOSEPHINE G. GARCIA, 82, passed away February 23, 1999. She was born April 26, 1916 to Pablo and Francisca Ramirez de Galindo in Agua Prieta, Sonora. She became a US citizen in 1946. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Liborio S.; sons, Robert (Francis) and Joe; daughter, Gloria (Glenn) Hamilton, Alicia Lara, Normal (John) Brumage; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. MARIA SOCORRO MUNGIA (SALLY) - Born April 18, 1920, died February 23, 1999. Maria is preceded in death by husband, Ernie Mungia; parents, Juan L. and Manuela O. Nunez; brothers, Oscar and Hector Nunez. Maria is survived by son, Fred (Esther) Mungia; five grandsons, many great-grandchildren; brother, Henry O. (Josie) Nunez; sisters, Dolores Dominguez, Josephine Nunez, Connie (Tino) Santeyan, Anita (Joe T.) Mendoza, Mary Louise (Juan) Castillo, Angie (Juan) Amaro; sister-in-law, Gloria Nunez; many beloved nephews, nieces, grandnieces and grandnephews. Maria was born in Tucson, attended Drachman School, Safford Jr. High, and THS. She served in the Coast Guard as a SPAR during WWII. She was a member and officer of the St. Ambrose Womens Club, the Legion of Mary and The Catholic Daughters of the Americas. PITTENGER, Darren James, a San Francisco resident, born August 5, 1967 in NJ, formerly of Tucson, passed away on February 19, 1999 in Palo Alto, California. STRIZVER, Robert H., 56, of Tucson, died February 25, 1999. He is survived by his sons, Adam David Strizver, Brad A. Strizver and Marc J. Also survived by four brothers: Manuel (Victoria), Mario(Julia), Francisico (Fermina), and Ernesto (Ernestina) Ruiz; and three sisters: Balbaneda (Alfonso) Guitierrez, Cristina (Alfonso) Solano and Maria Elens (Octavio) Acosta, and by many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
