VAUGHAN, Robert S. 'Spot', age 80, passed away February 28, 1999, at Park Centre Healthcare in Green Valley, Arizona. He is survived by Nancy Lee Vaughan, his wife of 57 years; son, Scott Vaughan and wife Margy (Tucson); son, Frank Vaughan and wife Cindy (Herndon, Virginia); four grandchildren, Robyn Marie Vaughan, Robert Vaughan III, Madeline Vaughan, and Evan Vaughan; sister, Lily Scott Watson (Martinsville, VA).
Spot was a Founder of Lawyers Title of Arizona in 1956. Later he was a partner at Huntoon Paige Mortgage Brokers, in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York. Vaughan subsequently concluded his career at Merrill Lynch when it acquired his company. Spot and Nancy left New Jersey and retired to Green Valley in 1988.
Spot served in the U.S. Army during WWII. In addition, he was active in community service throughout his life, providing leadership for numerous civic organizations in New Jersey, California and Arizona including State Jaycees President in New Jersey, Boy's Clubs Board in Phoenix, Little Theatre of Phoenix, Canoa Hills Representative to Green Valley coordinating council.
Services will be Wednesday, March 3, 1999, 3:00 p.m. at Green Valley Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests consideration of a donation to La Posada Foundation for the Health Center, 501 S. La Posada Circle, Green Valley, AZ 85614.

JUTRY, Jodie Hubbard, 43, died March 2, 1999, following a lengthy battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). She was born February 18, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. She arrived in Tucson in July 1979. Jodie developed the first full time speech and language program at Indian-Oasis Unified School District on the Tohono O'Odham Indian Reservation in Sells, AZ and was a district speech pathologist from 1980 to 1985. She worked as a speech pathologist in Tucson Unified School District from 1987to 1995 including four years on the Pascua Yaqui Indian Reservation in southwest Tucson. Her interests included volunteering as a horse handler at Therapeutic Riding of Tucson (T.R.O.T.) horses and animals of all kinds and plants and animals of the southwest. She enjoyed recreational sports of horseback riding, skiing, hiking and water sports. Jodie is survived by her husband, James A. Jutry; her mother, Jeanette Bombach of Dayton, Ohio; her father, Harold B. Hubbard of Sonoita, AZ; brothers, Marc Hubbard of Columbus, Ohio, Hal Hubbard of Columbia, S. Carolina, Mike Mason and Ed Mason both of Houston, TX; sisters, Karen Cole and Karen Wells both of Benson, AZ. Her stepfather, Harry Mason of Hillsboro, Ohio; three nieces, three nephews, two godsons, best friend, Judy Ostermeyer and loving pets also survive. MELAZZO, Rose Delores 'Nana' Tucson resident since 1944, she passed away February 28, 1999, after a long illness.Delores was born June 20, 1920, in Rochester, N.Y., and preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph R. Melazzo; one sister, and parents. Delores worked hard all her life and taught her extended family the strength to endure adversities and to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. She loved and cherished her extended family and will be greatly missed and is now released from her pain and experiencing joy in the presence of God and her loved ones. BURNS, Barbara Irene Brown, age 67 of Santa Fe, died on Sunday, February 28, 1999, in Santa Fe, following a short illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Frances Brown, and stepmother, Becky Brown. Barbara was born February 17, 1932 in Iowa City, IA. She wed Hal Burns, Jr. in November 1950 in Lordsburg, NM. They were married
for 25 years. She was raised and schooled in Tucson, AZ and was a graduate of Tucson High School. Her family lived in California and Arizona before moving to New Mexico in 1969, living first in Chama and then in Santa Fe. In the 1970's she was involved in the CETA Program and in 1978-1979 she worked for the Legislature. She had been employed at Sunwest Bank in Albuquerque and later worked as a tours and information specialist at the State Capitol Building. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and an active member of Santa Fe Community Foundation. She was also active and involved in Capitol City Business and Professional Women's Organization. Barbara is survived by her beloved three children, Hal Burns III and his wife, Laurie, of Flagstaff, AZ, Madelyn Hatch and husband, Larry, of Tucson, AZ and David F. Burns of Santa Fe. She is also survived by her brother, Bob Brown and wife, Vickie, of Houston, TX; sister, Roberta Chapman and husband, Ron, of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Larry P. Hatch, Vanessa Smith, Julie Vernon, Jennifer Burns, Thomas Dennis, Jaclynn Burns and James Hatch; and great-grandchildren, Zoeriah Smith and Cassidy Vernon. He is survived by his wife, Glenda; his children, Robert (Nina) Hussey of Tucson; Steven (Debbie) Sebastyen of Tucson, Sharol Sebastyen of Tucson; stepchildren, Bill (Laura) Jemes of Tucson, Connie Jemes and Shelly McClary and Wendy Cook of Tucson.
