GLATZ, John Lewis 'Jack', born November 26, 1929, passed away March 19, 1999. Beloved husband, father and friend. Survived by his wife, Dodie; son, Lee John; daughters, Leslie and Laurie; brother James (Lee), many nieces and nephews including very special nephew Bernard. Jack leaves behind countless close and personal friends including soul brothers Howard Starr and Leon Spiegel. A practicing attorney in Tucson for over 40 years, Jack will be remembered for his integrity, wit, and philanthropy to all. At Jack's request, no services are to be held. He did, however, want to express his love and appreciation to all who were a part of his incredible life. The Humane Society of Tucson was near and dear to his heart, and donations will be gratefully accepted there in his loving memory.

ZAMBO, Jannice G., of Casa Grande, AZ, died Tuesday, March 23, 1999. Survivors include husband, Frank of Casa Grande; sons, Richard (Sheila) and Mark (Sherry); daughter, Kristin; five grandchildren, Richard Jr., Ashley, Matthew, Andrew and Sarah, all of Miami, Fla. Memorial services will be April 14, 1999 in Phoenix, AZ. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity. ZIMMERMAN, Edgar A. 'Alex', 80, died March 25, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Helen S. Zimmerman; sons, Guy (Mary) Zimmerman, and Jim Zimmerman; daughter, Kathy Gisi; grandchildren, Greg, Mark, Amy, Anne, Patrick, Zachary, and Brett Alexander; brother, Fred (Mary Jane) Zimmerman; sisters, Tillie (Jack) Sandow, and Frances Layfield. Alex was employed by the General Motors Corporation, Buick Motor Division. After moving to Tucson in 1964, he owned and operated the Zimmerman Buick Dealership for many years. Vesper Services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 1999 at Evangelical Covenant Church, 551 N. Camino Seco, Pastor Tim Hedbert officiating. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

BAEZA, Rosalio R., 78 of San Manuel, died March 26, 1999. Born September 4, 1920 in Presidio, TX. preceded in death by wife Paula. Survived by daughter, Emma Baeza; son, Carlos J. Augustine R. Estrada, 93 of Tucson, Arizona passed away March 27, 1999. preceded in death by his wife, Angelita Otero Estrada and son Roy O.Estrada. Beloved Father, Grandfather, and Father-in-law. Survived by daughters, Terry (Tony) Canez, Carmen (Tony) Sandoval, Frances (Joe) Badilla, Connie (Joe) Romero; sons, Augustine (Mary) Estrada Jr., Rudy (Maria) Estrada. Also survived by 23 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 1999 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY (SOUTH CHAPEL), 240 S. Stone Ave. with rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery. FELKINS, Pearl E., age 83, died Saturday March 27, 1999. She is survived by two daughters, Elma L. (Bernard) Briggman of Tucson, Louise (Ray) Doyle of Glendale, AZ; one son, Fred (Joan) Felkins of Duncan, AZ; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Freda Hitz of Kansas and Lola Drake of Colorado. Mrs. Felkins is being taken to the A.L. Moore and Son Funeral Home in Phoenix, where Funeral Services are pending. Local arrangements by family owned ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES.

HAYES, Charles H., 81 of Tucson, passed away March 26, 1999. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Maxine; one daughter, Penny Thomas; two grandchildren, Tahnee and David Thomas; one sister, Doris Landry of Indiana; plus many other relatives and friends. Charles was employed by Hughes Aircraft as a foreman for over 40 years. He had a passion for golf which he enjoyed until two years ago when hip replacement surgery became necessary. Funeral Service will be held at South Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 5401 S. Park Ave., Tuesday, March 30, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Burial to follow at South Lawn cemetery. HUBER, Norma, of Tucson, AZ died March 26, 1999. Survivors include three sisters, Mary Helen Huber and Clara Anne Pearson of Washington, Iowa, and Kathryn Conner of Corvallis, Oregon; five nephews and nine grandnieces and grandnephews all of whom she loved deeply. Born in Washington County, Iowa. Moved to Tucson in 1961. A retired teacher, she had taught in TUSD at Hudlow, Howell, Ford, and Magee schools. Her Lord, Jesus, came for her as he promised he would on March 26, 1999. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday March 30, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at The El Camino Baptist Church, 7777 E. Speedway Blvd. with Rev. Russell Marshall officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the El Camino Baptist Church organ fund. Arrangement by family owned ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES.

MORALES, Samuel R., 21, died March 27, 1999. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

Arsenio Andrade, 68, of Tucson, went to be with his Lord on March 26, 1999. Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Socorro; children, George (Jessica), David (Jeanne), Guillermo (Maria); six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Santos Jr.; and one sister, Maria Gonzalez. Arsenio was a great husband, a wonderful father, and a great friend. He was an active member of the Sunnyside Baptist Church, and within the community; being involved in various youth and neighborhood programs. Arsenio was a Korean War veteran. The Bronze Star was among numerous medals he received. The Andrades were among the first families to settle in Tucson. He will be greatly missed. It was a blessing to have known such a noble man; praise be to God, Lord of the creation, the compassionate, the merciful. Friends may call at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, an Aftercare provider, 5401 S. Park Ave., Tuesday, March 30 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with memorial service starting at 6:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Sunnyside Baptist Church, 1075 E. BIANCO, Lena Marie, nee Pasqualina Cometo, died on March 27, 1999 at age 94. Born in Catanzaro, Italy, formerly of Blasdell, NY. Dearly beloved wife of the late Francis F. Bianco; loving mother of Beverly B. Kennedy (the late Bob) of Highland Park, IL, Arnold F. Bianco of Tucson, and Frank F. Bianco (Deborah) of Chicago, IL. Precious grandmother of Elizabeth Kennedy Ward, David A. Bianco, Suzanne Kennedy Mason, Matthew A. Bianco, Maria C. Bianco and Anthony A. Bianco. Great-grandmother of Duncan Kennedy Ward. Loving sister of Rose Alibist of Buffalo, NY. Memorial service 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 1st at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

DAUGHERTY, Harry L., 84, of Tucson, died March 29, 1999. A former resident of Douglas, AZ he was a retired Greyhound Bus driver where he worked for 30 years with an accident free record. He was also a member of the Greyhound Retirees Assoc. preceded in death by his wife Bertha, and an infant son, Charles Wayne Daugherty. Survived by daughters, Sherry L. Rickards and Jean (Christopher) Ilderton, both of Tucson; daughter-in-law, Alice Brown of Phoenix; brother, Earl Daugherty of Farmington, NM, ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. DEPUE, Dorothy Julia, 85 years old, died Saturday March 27, 1999 in Tucson. Born on June 14, 1913 in Lansing, Michigan. Survived by son, Joe (Cheryl) Depue; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was Grammy to all children who came into her life. Memorial services will be held March 31, 1999 Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Compassion Christian Center, 8423 E. Broadway. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Compassion Christian Center, 8423 E. GROFF, Lillian M. was born Easter Sunday, April 12, 1903 and died March 26, 1999 at the age of 95. She was a native of Tucson and worked as a telegrapher for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Groff; sons, Stephen P., Jack W. and Henry R. Miller; daughter-in-law, Martha Miller Roosma; sister, Marguerite; and great-grandchildren, Dustin Khan and Jennifer Cox. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Rosalie Miller; grandchildren, Katie Khan (Rashid), Steve Miller (Lynne), Marsha Cox (Doug), and Marilyn Sitzmann (Tom); great-grandchildren, James and Jeff Cox, Amy and Vicki Sitzmann, Shazia Krause, Jason Khan and Sam Miller. Graveside service, Wednesday, 1:00 p.m. Holy Hope cemetery, Monsignor Robert O. Fuller, St. Frances Cabrini officiating. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions made in the name of Lillian M. GURNEY, Regena Walrath, 88, of Tucson, passed away on March 28, 1999, at the Carondelet Hospice Unit at Tucson Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Norman in July of 1998. Surviving are a daughter, Gail Gurney of Tucson; two sons, Gary Gurney of Liverpool, NY, and Joe Gurney of St. Louis, MO; her sister, Myrna Murphy of Syracuse, NY; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Born in Brownville, NY, a retired school teacher from North Syracuse, NY, she and her husband spent summers in Cape Vincent, NY, and wintered in Florida. Burial services will be in Brownville, NY. Donations may be made to Carondelet Foundation, P.O. Box 13170, Tucson, AZ 85732-3170. Arrangements by Green Valley Mortuary.

JOHANTGEN, Thelma Ruth, 91, longtime Tucson resident, died March 27, 1999 in Rayne, LA. She is survived by daughters, Lillian Cart of LA, and Betty R. Callen of Tucson; grandchildren, Robert L. Cart Jr. of CA, Walter Thomas Cart & John R. Cart of LA, Ginger L. Trujillo and Penny L. Gloff of Tucson; and great-grandchildren Cristen & Kimberly Cart of CA, Scott Cart of LA., & Amy Gloff and Tiffany Trujillo of Tucson; sisters, June Wesson, Fern Armstrong &Ernestine Richardson all of Tucson & many nieces & nephews. She was a member of Naomi Rebekah Lodge #4 for over 50 years. Memorial Service will be held at a future date.

Anne Florence Kramer (nee Lowe) died peacefully with her family at her side on March 27, 1999 in Tucson. Born in Chicago in 1928, she was the daughter of Emory Deere Strong and Florence Eileen Strong (Furner) of St. Louis, MO. and after her mother's death, the daughter of Roy and Della (Ocean) Lowe of Tucson. She is predeceased by her parents, husbands, Clinton Kent Bessler and Cliff Kramer.
Anne, who lived in Tucson since 1948, was an unconditionally loving mother and loyal friend. One of her greatest joys was to share in the accomplishments and knowledge of others. Prior to her retirement she was an administrative secretary for Kitt Peak Observatory at the University of Arizona. She volunteered at The West, a needlework gift shop benefiting charities that serve women and children. She was an avid animal lover, traveler and happy camper. Anne died of pancreatic cancer.
She is survived by her three daughters, Charlotte Lowe Bailey (Claude), Elizabeth Waller and Megon Sax (Darren) and good friend Gilbert Larue. Also by her grandchildren, Charlotte Faitha Barr, Justin and Nichols Waller, and Eric, Brandon, Clinton, Tyler, Caitlin and Annamae Sax.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. March 23 at St. Ambrose Church, 300 S. Tucson Blvd., followed by a reception at the Bailey home. Those wishing to make memorial contributions The Catholic Workers (contact Brian Flagg, Casa Maria, 401 E. 26th St. or at 624-0312) or any charity benefiting animals.

LANDRUM, Dora Rebecca, 89, died March 28, 1999. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

MENDOZA, Dolores E., 90 of Tucson, went to be with her Lord on March 28, 1999. Survivors include her children, Rachel, Jacob Jr., Elizabeth, Lydia, Ruben, Daniel, David, 11 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Friends may call at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, Wednesday, March 31, 1999, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at First Mexican Baptist Church, 482 S. Stone, Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at South Lawn cemetery.

PERRINE, Mary W., 89, of Tucson, died March 28, 1999. Mrs. Perrine was employed by the former First Federal Savings Bank and was a member of First Christian Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Hansel Perrine; and two brothers, Burt C. Tower and John W. Tower. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, 3:00 p.m. at First Christian Church, with Dr. John W. Smith officiating. Internment, at a later date, will be in McCune cemetery, McCune, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the name of Mary W. SPENCER, LaVella Robison LeBaron, born April 10, 1925, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 28, 1999.Beloved wife, mother and friend. LaVella is survived by her husband of 22 years, Elmer; brothers, Loyal (Jackie) Robison and Wayne (Sarah) Robison; sister, Mary Ella Petersen; sons, Ervin, Ronald (Clarene) and Richard (Anna); daughters, JoAnn Hayes, Darlene (Bob) Marts, Geneese (Bob) Settles, Christine LeBaron, Lila (Scott) Morehead, Rose Marie (Gary) Turner and Roshel (Mark) Robey; 27 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. LaVella loved cooking, donating time to her church and rejoiced in the company of her family and friends. LaVella's life was frequently difficult and filled with obstacles, but despite all her adversities and travails, she was never bitter, never lost her spirit, her love of life or her faith in God.LaVella's happiest years were the past 22 she spent with her husband Elmer. They were blessed to have found each other. Her family loved her dearly and she will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind. Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 105 N. Norton Ave. Wednesday, March 31 at 10:00 a.m. with a viewing at 9:00 a.m. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 East Broadway.

STAYNER, Elizabeth Grace, 82, died March 27, 1999. Elizabeth was a schoolteacher in Iowa and in California, moving to Tucson four years ago. Survived by her daughter, Sharon Krimmel; son, Richard Stayner; two sisters, Alene Fels and Evelyn Rose; grandchildren, Liz and Billy. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Santa Monica, CA at a later date. Local arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, an aftercare provider.
