WALTENBURG, George E. Sr., 90, passed away March 29, 1999. He was a resident of Tucson and the surrounding area since 1976. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Ramp), September 3, 1996; daughter, Joan H. (Richard) Boggs; and son, Henry E. (Maxine) of Denver CO; brothers, James and Robert; three sisters, Laucie (Lawrence) Hambrock, Mary (Ralph) Buchan and Dora (William) Hambrock. He was born June 25, 1908 in Friday Harbor, WA, to Henry E. and Regina F. (Murphy) Waltenburg. He had a lifelong love for art, expressing it in several mediums. He carved beautiful smoking pipes, painted murals and worked with clay, creating life-size facial portraits of the family. In the forties, he started his own neon sign business in Indiana. Survivors include Barbara (Harry) Whittinghill of Tucson, Harold D. (Patricia) of Jacobson, MN, George E. (Sharon) of Richmond, IN, Kathleen (Larry) Seay of Queen Valley, AZ, and Rex (Linda) of Marietta, GA; and daughter-in-law, Maxine (Henry); son-in-law, Richard Boggs; brother, Donald J. Waltenburg; and three sisters-in-law, Helen (Roloff) Waltenburg, Helen (Harold) Ramp all of Fort Wayne, IN, and Marie (Clarence) White of Florence, OR; 22 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. DAUGHERTY, Harry L., 84, of Tucson, died March 29, 1999. A former resident of Douglas, AZ he was a retired Greyhound Bus driver where he worked for 30 years with an accident free record. FROELICH, Emery Martin, 52, died on March 29th. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he is survived by loving wife, Vanessa A. Olsen, DVM; sister, Barbara (Robert) Sievers; nephew, Thomas Sievers, and cousin, Kitty (Duane) Norton. He was a retired Chemist and a founding partner of Peroxidation Systems, Inc. of Tucson. He was past president of Tucson Audubon Society and active member of Nature Conservancy & Desert Dolphins Dive Club. He also owned Centric Photo Processing of Tucson. MONTANO, Aurelio, born April 10, 1910, passed away March 30, 1999 at his home. preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Montano. NIEMON, Frances E., 91, of Tucson passed away on March 25, 1999. Born October 6, 1907 in Mohwah, NJ. She was a graduate of high school in Pasadena, CA and attended Southern California University. Frances married
Benhard Wolf Neimon on November 6, 1930. During the Second World War Frances worked as a Radio Mechanic for the U.S. Navy while Benhard served in the Coast Guard. They moved to Tucson in 1965 where they were active in the Shrine and other community affairs. Remembrances may be sent to the Shriners Crippled Children Hospital, 450 S. RUTH OLSEN was born in Twin Valley, Minnesota February 10, 1907 to Martha Urdahl Hanson and Karl Johan Hanson. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Twin Valley. Ruth attended high school, then Normal School, becoming a teacher at nineteen. She married
Milford Arnold Olson June 21, 1931 and lived on a farm in Fussom, near Twin Valley where she resided for 52 years, until she had a stroke in 1994. She has lived in Tucson, Arizona since that time. She taught in many Norman County rural schools. The majority of her career was teaching fourth grade in Twin Valley. Ruth was an excellent, devoted teacher, eventually teaching the children of her former students. Beginning with one year Normal School training, she achieved an Associate and Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She actively served her family, community and church faithfully. Ruth is survived by two sisters: Ardale Shimota (Frank deceased) and Esther Halgrimson (Art), one sister-in-law: Ella Hanson, two daughters: Carol Hughes (Richard) and Linda Burkhardt (Jim) and five grandchildren: Ron Hughes (Nancy Hamilton), Robin Hughes, Belen Almquist (Eric), Paul Burkhardt, David Burkhardt and two great-grandsons: Chris Hamilton (Marie) and Cortney Hamilton and many special nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held at Spanish Trail Lutheran Church in Tucson March 29, 1999 celebrating the life of Ruth. Her funeral will be April 3, 1999at 2:00 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, Twin Valley, Minnesota. Ruth will be buried in the East Wild Rice cemetery following her funeral.

MARGARETE S. BALDWIN, age 50, of Hereford, AZ, died Monday, March 29, 1999.
The daughter of Mr and Mrs. Harvey Landis, of Waukegan, IL. She attended Waukegan Township High School and completed 1 year of college at Eastern Illinois University. In 1967 she wed Edward Fransis Baldwin of Lake Forest, IL. They have since been together for 32 wonderful years of life.
She is survived by her best friend and devoted husband, Edward F. Baldwin; and her four loving children, Brooke Roselle of Tucson, Bryan Baldwin of Oklahoma City, OK, Jennifer DeVries of Romeoville, IL and Edward F. Baldwin, Jr. of Oakland, CA. In addition her parents, Margarete and Harvey Landis of Waukegan, IL; her brothers and sisters, Richard Schwarz, Randy Schwarz, Catherine Alden, James Landis and Janice Solesby. Also all of her loving grandchildren, nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Schwarz; and one brother, Robert Schwarz.
Margarete's quick wit and sense of humor sparked contagious smiles. Throughout her illness her smile never disappeared. She touched the hearts of so many people and she will never be forgotten.
She enjoyed the outdoors, nature, ballooning, her mountain home in Hereford, AZ, listening to music, knitting and reading.
She was a wonderful mother, who in her spare time volunteered many hours in the Tucson Public Schools. Her volunteer efforts led her to a most recent job of office manager of Coronado Elementary School in Sierra Vista. She had to leave her job of which she loved so much, to move along with her husband to Houston, TX, where she lived August of 98 to March of 99. Fighting her courageous battle against cancer.
Margarete believed that 'It's possible to move a mountain…by carrying small stones…'. One day at a time carrying small stones she in fact did move a mountain. The mountain of Peace.
Memorial services will be held at Hatfields', 830 S. Highway 92, Sierra Vista, AZ 85635. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with service immediately following.
COBLER-FURREY, Eileen Virginia, 77, of Tucson, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Cobler in 1979 and her second husband, Walter Furrey in 1996. She is survived by her sons, Gary Cobler, William (Linda) Cobler; brother, Douglas Hoffman; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In the early morning hours of Monday, March 30, 1999 at his home, Steven C. Littell, age 57, lost his two year battle with prostate cancer.
In his eclectic career, Steven was an entrepreneur in many fields including construction and farming, and had served in military intelligence. He was a passionate motorcyclist, having rode throughout his entire life. He raced professionally as a younger man and in his later years toured all over the USA.
He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for five years. Previously he was very involved with a local charitable organization, The Centurians.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela; son, Steve Cary Littell, Jr. (Jonathan); daughter, Jennie Littell Blacker (Jonathan); stepdaughter, Emilie Dean and granddaughter, Kelsey Blacker; brother, Carlton S. Littell (Tish); sister, Lisa Littell and loyal dog, Abby.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 3, 1999 at 12:30 p.m. at the Johrei Center, 3919 E. River (at Alvernon), followed by a celebration of Steve's life at the family home.
