LARSEN, Edgar M., 86, died May 28, 1999. He was the loving husband of Sue Larsen; the devoted father of Ed, Jr. (Stephanie), George (Margaret), and Kristin; and the gentle grandfather of Bryn and Olivia. He will also be fondly remembered by his brother, Christian (Selma) Larsen and sister, Evrlyn Rapka. Ed was born in Chicago in 1912 and was a homebuilder and Realtor in Chicago, Phoenix, and Tucson. He was active in the Traveler's Protective Association, becoming State President in Illinois and Arizona, and the National President of TPA in 1978. His marriage to Sue for 64 years and his dedication to his family were the accomplishments most treasured by those of us that loved him and were loved by him in return. He lived a good and worthy life, and we will miss our Papa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Southern Arizona Chapter. Elmer W. Laws, 81, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 1999 in Tucson, AZ. He is survived by his son, Robert Laws; daughters, Carol Regan and Peggy Duffner; sister, Virginia Simmons; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. As a young man in Pasadena, CA he was a member of the Order of DeMolay and was inducted into the Legion of Honor. He served in the Naval Reserves during WWII and after. The majority of his career was spent in the aerospace industry, and he was very proud to have worked for Grumman Aerospace on the Apollo Lunar Module Project. He moved to Tucson in 1979 and worked at Valley National Bank until his retirement. He was an avid model railroader for close to 60 years and was involved with the N.M.R.A. in Tucson for many years. Most recently he was a volunteer at Northwest Medical Center's Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit. A gathering of his friends and family will be held on Sunday, June 6, 1999. Matilda R. Tapia, 65, lifetime resident of Tucson, died May 31, 1999. preceded in death by her husband, Secundino G. Tapia in 1968.
