HARRIET 'BARKY' LEWIS - passed away on Saturday May 29, at the age of 90. She died with grace and dignity, just as she had lived her life with grace and dignity. Barky was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Donald B. Lewis, who passed away three years ago. They moved to Tucson in 1937 from Pennsylvania. Barky was born in York, Pennsylvania and was a registered nurse prior to her 61 years of marriage to Don. They were members of the First Methodist Church and the Tucson Country Club. Barky leaves behind a daughter, Diane Carey; a son, Donald B. Lewis, Jr.; both living in Tucson, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Barky had many lifelong friends here in Tucson, although sadly, she outlived many of them. A special companion and caregiver of Barky's for the past 30 years has been Maria Gonzalez. Our family owes a debt of gratitude to her and other caregivers who gave so much to allow our mother to live and die with such dignity and respect.

HITCHCOCK, Henry, died at his residence in Tucson, AZ on June 3rd, 1999 after a brief illness. Mr. Hitchcock was born in Boston, MA on July 24, 1906 and grew up in St. Louis, MO. He was a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Business School. Mr. Hitchcock was active in charitable affairs in St. Louis for many years. Mr. Hitchcock had maintained a residence in Tucson since 1970. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eleanor Hoblitzelle Hitchcock. JACKSON, Mary Louise, age 94, of Diamond Bar, California, passed away May 31, 1999. Mrs. Jackson was a resident of Tucson from 1932 until 1995. THOMAS HENRY HARRIS was born in Nogales, Arizona on October 21, 1940. He spent his young life in Nogales and on the McGee Ranch, before moving to Tucson. At age seventeen he joined the National Guard, from there he went into the US Navy where he spent twelve years, in the states and overseas. Upon retirement from the Navy he moved his family back to Tucson, and worked in the construction industry as long as health permitted. Tommy went to be with the Lord on May 27, 1999, however he left his family and friends with golden memories. Their life here on Earth is better for having known him. He will be remembered for his honesty, fairness and ready smile, and missed by all who knew him. Son, the things I fell so deeply are the hardest things to say, but i love you in a very special way. If my tears were a stairway and my heartache a road, I'd walk to Heaven and ask the Lord to let me bring you back again. Survived by, mother, Mildred, dad, Woody Woodsworth; two sisters, Nona (Buddy) Peak, Leona Harris; two brothers, Alvin (Doris) Harris, Samuel (Louise) Harris, five children, fourteen grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, all who love him dearly. preceded in death by father Alvin Harris, grandson Joshua, a niece and two nephews. MANNY L. ORNELAS, 76, born in Aguascalientes, Mexico, passed away May 3, 1999. Survived by wife, Lourdes; daughters, Lupe, Evelyn, Dolores, Mary Lou and son, Arthur Manuel; sister, Eva Lugo and brothers, Robert, Richard, Eduardo and Arthur; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Manny was a WW II veteran and a U of A graduate. He was a pioneer in Hispanic radio and TV Broadcasting and one of the first to introduce mariachis and Mexican folklore into Arizona in the early 1950's. He had his own radio and TV shows called The Manny Ornelas Show and as many will recall he began his show with Las Coronelas and ended with Ojos Espanoles. BRACAMONTE, Guillermo A., 66, died Tuesday, June 8, 1999 at Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. He was retired from the City of Tucson where he worked in the street maintenance department. He enjoyed Bingo, Casino gambling and being a soccer coach. Mr. Bracamonte lived in Tucson for life. He was born November 15, 1932 in Safford, AZ. His father Guillermo Bracamonte and his mother, Isabel Alvarez Bracamonte preceded him in death. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict having attained the rank of Corporal. He enlisted on February 9, 1951 and was discharged on February 11, 1954. He is survived by his wife, Ernestine; and daughters, Linda (Danny) Cota and Patsy (Mariano) Guzman; sons, David (Cecilia) Bracamonte, Robert (Lea) Bracamonte and Frank Bracamonte.
