AYOUB, Waheeb Fahmy, 76 years old, died Thursday, June 24, 1999. Memorial services will be held June 26, 1999 Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Norhminster Presbyterian Church, 2450 E. Fort Lowell. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 25, 1999 at WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. Speedway.

BLODGETT, Nathaniel Walter, age six weeks, of Tucson, passed away June 21, 1999. He is survived by his mother, Jacqueline Blodgett; sister, Ashley; brother, Ethan; and grandparents, Neil and Tomiko Blodgett. 'May he rest peacefully in heaven with his big brother, Bradley.' Visitation will be at family owned ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, 1050 N. Dodge at Speedway, Saturday, June 26, 1999 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Sunday, June 27, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at Catalina United Methodist Church Chapel, 2700 E. Speedway at Treat, with Rev. Raven Gaston officiating.

DENLINGER, Martin L. (Col. US Army Ret.), 83, a 29 year resident of Tucson, died Tuesday, June 22, 1999. Survived by sons, Milton L. of Houston, TX, Grover R. (Nancy) of Benton, KS, William S. (Kay) of Tucson, Gregory F. of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Deborah (Terry) Gilpin of Tucson; 10 grandchildren; brother, William of Kansas City, KS. preceded in death by wife, Helen. Col. Denlinger was a 31 year veteran of the Army, serving from 1939 to 1969. He served extensively in WW II, receiving the Bronze Star and the Legion of Merit, among other commendations. Memorial service 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 26 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Lung Assoc. or related charities.

LOPEZ, David Daniel, age 40, a lifetime resident of Arizona passed away June 22, 1999 in Tucson. Born April 30, 1959 in Nogales, Arizona. Mr. Lopez attended elementary and high school in Sierra Vista. A graduate of Buena High School Class of 1977. He moved to Tucson after graduation and later graduated from the University of Arizona, where he was later employed as an accountant. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Rosa; mother, Mary Lopez; brother, Joe (Vickee) Lopez; sisters, Ana (Andy) Kelley, Dee Dee (Manny) Sotelo and Lorraine (Jerry) Drake; goddaughter and niece, Kathleen Kelley; nephews, James Kelley, Matthew Lopez, Alex and Jesse Sotelo, and Jerry Joseph Drake; also survived by the Badalamenti, Alvarez and Colunga families, and many other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his father, James J. Lopez. David, we love you and we miss you. You will forever be in our hearts and prayers. Until we see you in heaven. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 1999 at South Lawn Mortuary, 5401 S. Park Ave., Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow at South Lawn cemetery. AMADO R. NORIEGA, 51, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away June 21, 1999. Survived by wife, Lilly Noriega; parents, Mike L. Noriega, Rebecca and Gilbert Peralta; daughter, Mary 'Becky' Noriega; son, Amado 'Rocky' Noriega, Jr; sister, Alma Potter; brothers, Tony and Alberto Peralta; aunts, Josephine, Hortencia, Ofelia Nava, Dalia Buddingh and Yolanda Hamilton; uncles, Gilbert and Johnny Noriega. Also survived by many beloved cousins and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 27, 1999 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. ROHR, Bruce, 54, of Tucson, died June 22, 1999. Bruce is survived by companion, May Jane Howell; son, Joe E. (Letitia) Rohr and mother, Odys Rohr. WILMA K. WYLIE, Born October 28, 1914, in Marietta, OH, went to be with our Lord on May 15, 1999, in Akron, Ohio. After retiring from the Goodyear Bank, Wilma spent the last 21 winters in Tucson with her daughter, Sandra Holm (Douglas), and her granddaughters, Kathleen and Sarah. Wilma is also survived by her daughter, Linda Doss of Akron, and grandsons, Andrew McDonald of Phoenix, and Marshall Doss of Akron. Wilma enjoyed gardening, her grandchildren, her dog, Trinka, and watching basketball games. A memorial service will be held at Streams in the Desert Lutheran Church, 5360 E. Pima, Tucson, on June 26 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Stroke Association Hospice Care Center, 3358 E. Ridgewood Road, Akron, Ohio 44333 or Streams in the Desert Lutheran Church.

FITZGERALD, Mrs. Frances, died June 23, 1999 at age 93. She was born on March 10, 1906 in Reidsville, North Carolina. Her extensive education included attendance at Wake Forest University and the University of North Carolina as well as graduation from the William's School of Expression and Dramatic Arts, Ott School of Chautauqua and Lycum Arts, at Ithaca, New York. She performed professionally in all the states of the south under the auspices of colleges, schools, and clubs. During this era there were no radios and televisions – consequently the Chautauquas were the only source of entertainment for the small towns and rural areas throughout the United States. Mrs. Fitzgerald's professional activities included coaching musical shows for the prestigious Wayne P. Sewell Lycum and Production Company based in Atlanta, Georgia. She also gave monologue recitals of entire plays for audiences of all kinds.
She gave an unrehearsed lengthy surprise recital to entertain family and friends at her 90th birthday party. Later Mrs. Fitzgerald joined the business world as ready -to -wear buyer for Levy's Dept. Store and dress buyer for Steinfeld' Dept. Store in Tucson. She moved to Tucson from Long Island, New York in 1946 and enjoyed her life in the foothills ever since. She was married to Walter D. St. John of New England until his death in 1955. They had two children, Elizabeth (Mrs. Robert J.) Canfield of Tucson and Dr. Walter D. St. John of Bangor, Maine. She had five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. The grandchildren are Walter's daughter – Kathryn St. John of Boulder Creek, California and Elizabeth's children – Kathryn Conner of Payson, Arizona, Sharon Canfield, Rebecca Hiser, and Robert Canfield II all residents of Tucson. She is also survived by her second husband, Thomas E. Fitzgerald. Private graveside services will be conducted.

LIDIA ARREOLA LANDON
December 11, 1928 to June 2, 1999
She flew to be home with the angels on Wednesday, June 2, 1999 in Lancaster, California. She will be especially missed by her sister, Susie Arreola of Tucson and her children, John Anthony Landon, Lidia Landon Michael of Lancaster, and Tina Landon Reseda, California. She will also be missed by her children's spouses, Greg and Mary and her grandchildren, Gabriel, Raquel, Giovan, Garrett Michael and Aubrey Johnette Landon, all from Lancaster. Many other friends and relatives, especially Club Mavis members in Tucson will miss her wonderful personality. Lily married John Noble Landon and moved to California in 1955. She is preceded in death by her parents, Miguel and Susana and her sisters, Julia Lopez, Carlota Jacobs and brothers, Henry, Mike and Manuel Arreola all from Tucson. A memorial mass will be held in her honor on Friday, July 2, 1999 at 6:30 p.m. at Santa Cruz Church, 1200 S. 6th Ave., Tucson.

LEGAN, Janice M., 57 years old, died June 24, 1999, Thursday in Tucson. Born on August 23, 1941 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Survived by two sons, Mark L. Legan, Ronald P. Legan, Jr.; mother, Albina Grandbois; three brothers, David, Jerry, Dewane Grandbois; four grandchildren and ex-husband, Ronald P. Legan, Sr. Memorial services will be held at St. Mary's Chapel at a later date. Arrangements handled by WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 881-0338.

Vanessa Diane Ranes-Acuna
Born October 9, 1998 at Kino Hospital. Went to our Lord on June 22, 1999 from Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. Survived by her loving parents, Alma Ranes and Vicente L. Acuna III; grandparents, Vicente and Martha Acuna, and Eligio and Conrada Ranes; sister, Ashley Deal, and Ashley's father, Billy Deal; great-grandparents, Dorothy and Vicente Acuna, Dolores and (Henry) Yanez and Manuel Gomez; aunts, Connie (David) Wilson, Becky and (Clarence) Harper, Lisa (Mike) San Jose, Naomi Gomez and MaryLou; uncles, Vielito (Oralia) Acuna, Joe (Betty) Gomez, David and Danny Gomez; aunt Monique and Nino Derek; cousins, Maria, Alyssa, Velita, JR., Johnny, Angelique, Alex, Danielle, Fino, Nicole, Cris, Nick, Rueben, Leonard, Dee, Chad, Stefanie, and many more loving family and friends. 'In the short time you were with us, you brought sunshine and happiness to all our hearts.' A wake will be held on June 27, 1999 at 6:00 p.m. at Southside Presbyterian Church and will be held all night. A viewing will be held June 28, 1999 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY. Funeral and Burial service will be held June 29, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL. Burial will follow at South Lawn cemetery.

ELLEN RAY - Wonderful mother, gracious and brave, dancer, director, choreographer, teacher and friend. During Ellen's professional career she worked with Fred Astaire, Bob Fosse, Jerome Robbins, Jack Cole, and her dear friend Gene Kelly. She will be missed for her great sense of humor under any circumstance, great show! Survived by her sisters, Joan Cochran and Margaret Streeter, her little dog BaBa, and her darling son Sean. Memorial services to be announced.

Mark Valentine Gardner, born February 14, 1912 in Woodruff, AZ. passed away on June 26, 1999. He graduated from Snowflake High School and later served a mission in Brownsville, TX. He married Inez Rogers on May 26, 1936. Mr. Garner was the office manager for Martin Construction Company and was active in the L.D.S. Church, serving as Bishop, High Council and managed the Bishop's storehouse. He also was a member of the Flowing Wells Irrigation Board for 34 years. Survived by his wife Inez; daughters Marcia Claridge of Tucson, Jan McBride of Pima, AZ., Jeanette Phillips of Arlington, TX, Val Smith of Safford, AZ.; son Mark Roger Gardner of Tucson; and sister viva Hatch of Mesa, AZ.; 22 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren also survive. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 30th at the Silverbell Ward L.D.S. Church, 1540 E. Linden with Bishop Van Pershing conducting. Interment will follow at T.M.P. Southlawn cemetery. Friends may call at BRING'S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 236 S. Scott from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29th and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday morning at the church

GREEN, Violet D., 85, of Tucson, passed away on Friday, June 25, 1999. She was born in Rockford, Illinois on November 27, 1913 and moved to Tucson with her husband and two small daughters in 1945. She is survived by her four children, Mary A. Conlisk, Cathy K.J. Green, Daniel A. (Char) Green and Thomas C. (Emma) Green; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Green worked for T.U.S.D. in the lunch program for 15 years and was a devoted wife, a loving mother and cherished grandmother throughout her life. Friends may call at the ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, (Dodge Chapel), 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 1999. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 1999 at St. Cyril's Church, 4725 E. Pima. Burial will be a private service on July 6th, when she will be reunited with her husband, Daniel F. Green, on their 63rd wedding anniversary.

HATHAWAY, Charles C., 70 of Tucson, died Saturday, June 26, 1999. He is survived by his daughters, Wanda Hathaway Wood of Goose Creek, SC, Renee Hathaway Carney of Kensington MD; sons, Charles C. Hathaway, Jr. of Elmira, NY, Dennis Joey Hathaway of Kinston, NC; sisters, Joan Parker, Rosa Squires and Linda Foster all of Kinston, NC; brother, Craven Hathaway of Kinston, NC; also survived by 7 grandchildren. He was a retired barber, Chaplain of Tucson, Arizonia Elks Lodge, member of Faith Assembly Church of God in Tucson. Services will be held Tuesday, June 29, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at Howard-Carter & Stroud Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Lanier officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park, in Kinston, NC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, June 28th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and at other times at the home of Catherine Hathaway, 1668 Hwy. 55 East, Kinston, NC. She is preceded in death by her husband Tiburcio; son Agustin. She is survived by sons, Tiburcio III (Angie) and Carlos (Susan Munoz; daughters Julia (Carl) Van Zelf and Beatricz (Brian) Leck; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. Also preceded in death by sisters, Ida Provencio and Luisa Bowden; and survived by her brothers, Oscar and Leo Buttner; and sister, Rosa B. Juarez; also numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives.
Rosary will be on Tuesday, June 29, 1999 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Bernards Church in Pirtleville. The funeral mass will be on Wednesday, June 30, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Bernard Church.
