LEECE, John Stephen, born May 2, 1947, Tucson, AZ, died July 10, 1999, Tucson, AZ.
Known for his expertise in designing many state-of-the-art hemodialysis clinics in he Southwest. Tucson native John Stephen Leece passed away Saturday, in Tucson. Leece, 52, was a 1972 graduate of the University of Arizona College of Architecture. Over the past 20 years, he had owned several architectural businesses in California which specialized in helping doctors and nurses design and build hemodialysis clinics where patients with kidney disease could be treated in comfortable and efficient settings. In addition to Miyake, Leece & Woods Architects of Costa Mesa, CA, Leece had been associated with CNWC Architects of Tucson and Stockton, CA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold H. Leece. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Wendy of Costa Mesa, CA; his loving children, Bret, 25 and his wife, Blithe, 26 of Los Angeles, CA; daughter, Megan, 22; son, Stephen, 18; daughter, Amy, 15 and daughter, Emily, 10, all of Costa Mesa, CA; his devoted mother, Harriett H. Leece of Tucson. Also brothers, Michael B. Leece and William S. Leece, both of Tucson; sisters, Mary Kaye Bennett of Glendale, AZ and Carol Ann Willingham of Tucson as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, nephews and nieces living in Tucson and Glendale, AZ.
In his life, John had been active in his church as a Sunday School supervisor and he was also on the Men's Prayer Watch. Also, he participated in many Costa Mesa AYSO and Costa Mesa Little League fund raising activities.
He was also an avid golfer and an expert handyman.
Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 17 at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. Tucson Blvd., Tucson.

DONG, Eugene K., age 49, passed away on July 15, 1999 after a courageous nine-month battle with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Eugene, a 1967 graduate of Pueblo High School and 1971 graduate of the University of Arizona, was employed by Raytheon. ALENE J. McCOLLUM, 78, of Tucson, went home to be with her Lord on July 8, 1999. She was born on March 9, 1921 in Sulphur Springs, TX. She was a resident of Silver City, NM and had resided in Tucson since 1940.
She was preceded in death by H.B. (Mac) McCollum, her loving husband of 50 years. She is survived by one son, Terry D. (Nikki) McCollum; one daughter, Starr Ann McCollum; two granddaughters, Brooke (Peter) Russo, Paige (Mike) Carpenter; one grandson, Brent McCollum; four great grandchildren, Andrea and Coleton Russo and Brieanna and Brendon Carpenter. MEAD, Sidney E. A memorial service for Dr. Sidney E. Mead, who died June 9, 1999 will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 17 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northwest Tucson, 3601 W.
