RENNELS, Bernadine, 86, of Tucson, died August 8, 1999. Former bookkeeper and secretary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Levi) Dungan; son, Mike Rennels and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A gathering of friends and family will be held Wednesday, August 11, 1999 at 4:00 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. at Magee.

SAXON, William W., passed away August 4, 1999 in Tucson. Bill was born December 9, 1928 in Winsboro, TX. He is survived by his wife, Joan Chappell; five children, Bonnie, Lorie, Daniel, Jacque, Billy; one brother, Roy Lee; one sister, Mary Ruth and many grandchildren and friends. No services are planed at this time. Arrangements by WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. Speedway, 881-0338.

SMITH, Julius, 79, born in New York City, on October 31, 1919, and passed away in Tucson August 8, 1999. Julius served his country in WWII in the Army Air Corp, stationed all over Europe. Julius was a loving and devoted family man. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 53 years, Florence; he is also survived by his son, Paul (Paulette) Smith; daughter, Robin Robert) Herman; granddaughters, Heather and Melissa, Mindy and Hayley; grandsons, Scott; and Mark and great-granddaughter, Loreal. We all will miss you very much 'Poppi.' Services will be held Tuesday, August 10 at 9:00 a.m. at Evergreen Chapel, N. Oracle & Miracle Mile West, Rabbi Samuel M. Cohon of Temple Emanu-el officiating. Interment to follow at the Knights of Pythias Section of Evergreen cemetery.

SNODDERLEY, Vera Mae, 67, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away August 08, 1999. preceded in death by parents, Thomas Toy and Bessie Nicholas; sister, Opal; brothers, Carl and Lloyd. Survived by husband, Wayne; daughters, Peggy (Glenn) Armentrout of Tucson, Arizona and Kathy (Russ) Draper of Denver, CO; son, Gary (Loretta) Snodderley of Thatcher, Arizona; brother, Pete Nicholas of Hopkins, MO. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 1999 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1825 N. Alvernon Way, Tucson, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to T.M.C. Hospice. 39 years in Tucson spent as homemaker and housewife, mother. Husband Wayne worked at various lumber yards retiring from Holderness Lumber in 1996. Arrangements by CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.

SPRADLIN, Vera Fern, went to the Lord in Tucson, AZ on August 7, 1999. She was the last survivor of her seven siblings and was born in Burr Oak, IN April 26, 1907. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus who passed away in September 1974 in Perham, Minn. She wintered in Arizona from the time of his death until moving to Tucson in 1988. Vera is survived by her three children, Phyllis (Arthur) Bruggeman of Tucson, AZ, Larry (Jodie) Spradlin, Sr. of South Bend, IN and Dennis (Donna) Spradlin of Gallatin, TN. She leaves 12 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Other survivors include sisters-in-law, Betty Wilson of South Bend and Marjorie Wilson of Barrington, IL, along with a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be scheduled later in South Bend, IN, where her ashes will be interred. Remembrances may be made to The Humane Society of Tucson, 3450 N. Kelvin Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85716 or a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank Dae G. and the care givers at the Golden Days Home for the loving and respectful care she received the last two years. Arrangements by WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. ARMANDO VERDUGO, 53, passed away July 31, 1999 in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. preceded in death by his father, Ignacio Verdugo and his mother, Aurora Verdugo Martinez. Survived by his wife, Pam Verdugo; daughters, Melody, Marisol, and Meaghan; granddaughter, Kora Cymone, all from Tucson; sisters, Martha Elzy of Tucson, Maria Olga Codina of Hermosillo, Son; three half sisters and one half brother of Hermosillo, Son; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held in Hermosillo on August 2nd.

LEO ALLEN CROW, 73, passed away suddenly on August 6, 1999. Survivors include his special friend, Eleanor Ashbacher of Tucson, AZ; mother, Sophie Crow of Murphysboro, IL; sons, Darrell Crow of Bellingham, MA, Stephen Crow, whereabouts unknown; daughters, Glenda Keeney of Marysville, IL, Brenda Lee of Normal, IL; brothers, Olen Crow of Beckemeyer, IL, L. Odell Crow of Murphysboro, IL and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Millard Crow; son, Rick Crow, and two wives, Violet (Keim) Crow and Barbara (Murphy) Crow. Leo, a former military intelligence officer, resided in Tucson since 1990 and enjoyed painting the Arizona countryside and playing the organ. Leo was returned to Murphysboro, IL by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, where funeral services will be held in Murphysboro at Pettett Funeral Home on Thursday, August 12, 1999 at 10:00 a.m.

JOSE JUAN FLORES, 73, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away August 08, 1999. Survived by wife, Marianita Flores; children, Feliciano (Cornelia) Cruz, Eddie Gonzales, Margaret (Jose) Rivas, George (Anna) Pargas, Maria Elena (Valentine) Pena and Jessie (Marcelo) Valencia; sisters, Ramona (Refugio) Gonzales, Carmen Romero and Lupe Sims; brothers, Jimmy, Mike (Rosa) and Pete Flores. Also survived by 23 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 12, 1999 from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Friday, August 13, 1999, 9:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Church, 1220 S. Stone Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery. Jose was a Mason for the University of Arizona for 20 years before retiring in 1987. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Arrangements by CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.

MARY ARLINE HOWELL, 91, of Tucson, formerly of Duncan, AZ, passed away July 28, 1999. Daughter of Ina and Samuel Crandal, Mary was born March 28, 1908 in Sheridan, Wyoming and spent most of her childhood in Riverton, Iowa. She was a graduate of Iowa State Teachers College and taught Elementary School in several States. Her last teaching position was 3rd Grade teacher at Duncan Elementary School. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister, husband Harry Hyatt and husband Hugh Howell. She is survived by step-daughter Alice Corales and her four children and families, and many friends who love this very special lady. She has been cared for the past five years by Sabino Canyon (formerly Balmoral) Care Center. Memorial Services and interment will take place in Duncan, AZ. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Duncan, AZ 85534.

JENSEN, Constance (Connie), born December 17, 1916 in Oshkosh, WI, died August 6, 1999 in Tucson. Survived by her husband, Roger; son, Phillip; daughter, Gloria (Roger) Ward; grandchildren, Hannah, Maxwell and Kiri; one sister, Dorothea; one sister-in-law, Mary; six nieces and two nephews. Connie taught school in Tucson and was a volunteer for 20 years at Davis-Monthan in Family Services. She was a member of Reserve Officers Association Ladies. Connie was an active member of Spanish Trail Lutheran Church since 1964. She was an enthusiastic participant in many activities and was always concerned about the welfare of others. She was loved by all who knew her and will always be remembered with much love by her family and friends. Memorial service will be held Thursday, August 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Spanish Trail Lutheran Church, 8701 East Old Spanish Trail. In place of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Spanish Trail Handbell Choir or Spanish Trail Memorial Garden.

LENTON, Esther A., 84 years old, died August 5, 1999 in Tucson. Born on April 4, 1915 in West Allis, Wisconsin. preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Harold E. Lenton. Survived by son, Thomas A. Lenton of Philadelphia; daughters, Kathleen F. (Roy) Studer of Michigan, Valerie J. Crail and Suzette M. Gromek both of Tucson; a sister, Ethel Myers and a brother, Robert I. Toupin both of Tucson; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and several in-laws. Visitation will take place Thursday, August 12, 1999 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with services at 2:00 p.m. at WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. Speedway. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Cancer, Heart or Dignita Hospice Associations.

MAGNOWSKI, Henry F., 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 9, 1999 following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Eveline; three stepchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-grandson, two nephews, and two nieces, and many friends. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 4, 1921, he married Eveline on May 23, 1986 and they moved to Tucson in November, 1989. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the VFW Post 10188. A Memorial Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 14, 1999 at St. Odilia's Church, 7570 N. Paseo Del Norte. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Salvation Army or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY.

PAZ, Manuel V., passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on August 10, 1999. A native Arizonan, Mr. Paz was born and raised in Nogales. He is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for the City of Tucson Water Dept., where he retired from as a supervisor. Mr. Paz is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carmen; his children, Steve (Sonia) Paz, Debbie (Bill) Grijalva and Gabriel Paz; grandchildren, William and Natalie; and sisters, Sara Maldonado, Helen (Jesus) Maldonado, Mary (Alex) Navarro and Toni (Tony) Pacheco. Friends may call at the ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway) on Thursday, August 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 13, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft. Interment will follow in Holy Hope cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Diabetes Foundation or the Kidney Foundation.

STALLWORTH, Nancy Pharr, born February 24, 1909, went home to be with the Lord on August 9, 1999. preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac S. Pharr; husband, Floyd; son, Floyd Isaac, and sister, Roberta McCloud.
Survived by son, Leon M. Stallworth, Sr., Omaha, NE; daughters, Sylvia (Felton) Hitchye, Nancy Ginger-Ivens (Howard Ivens) of Tucson, Julia (Ernest) Mudd of Houston, TX; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two brothers -in-law, Rever T. McCloud, Omaha, NE, Edison Stallworth, Montgomery, AL; three sisters-in-law, Jinnie V. Stallworth, Mamie Andrews and Ora Stallworth of Alabama and a large, loving, extended family.
Friday, August 13, 1999, visitation 11:00 a.m.; Services 12:00 noon at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 210 East Lester Street, Tucson, AZ 85705, (520) 624-3813. TRACY, Lula, 91, of Tucson, passed away on August 7, 1999. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Tracy Sr.; one daughter, Betty Jane Dennis and one son, Richard Tracy. She is survived by two sons, Elmer (Lois) Tracy and Leonard (Carol) Tracy, Jr. and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southern Arizona Heart Fund and The American Cancer Society. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 13, 1999 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 14, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY. CLEAVELAND, Bernice L. (Bea), 82, of Meadville, PA died August 11, 1999 in Meadville. She was born July 12, 1917 in Penfield, PA, a daughter of George and Josephine Tallady Williams. She married Earl Neumann in 1945. He preceded her in death in 1960. She subsequently married L. Kenneth Cleaveland in 1964. He survives.
She was a 1939 graduate of Clearfield Memorial Hospital Nursing School, Clearfield, PA, receiving her degree as a Registered Nurse. She first worked as a surgical nurse in Cleveland, OH and then as director of R.N. surgery at Parma Hospital, Parma, OH. She subsequently worked part time as a registered nurse in California. She also volunteered at St. Elizabeth Health Clinic in Tucson. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, J. Edward Neumann and his wife, Jacqueline of Tucson; a sister, Mrs. R.B. (Bonnell) Hoover of Big Run, PA; two grandchildren, Michael Neumann and Katherine Clark; one great-granddaughter, and nieces and nephews. In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Helen Thompson, Mildred Williams, Ruth Bell and Grace Riccadonna.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 21 at 1:00 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Meadville, PA.
Memorials may be made to the Meadville Women's Club Scholarship Fund, c/o Marlene Miller, 12109 Middle Rd., Meadville, PA 16335.

NORMAN STERLING HULL, a long-term resident of Arizona, passed away Monday, August 9, 1999. He was born February 3, 1904 and raised in Seattle, Washington. He moved to Tucson in 1924 and enrolled in the University of Arizona. While a student, he was a member of Delta Chi, Phi Kappa Phi, and first president and star of the Drama Club. He graduated on May 13, 1928 as a top student in the School of Law and had a long, stellar career as an attorney. He began his practice in Tucson, including a year as assistant U.S. Attorney. He married Pauline Kitt in 1928.
His family moved to Phoenix in 1932. He joined the Law Firm of Ellinwood and Ross which later became Evans, Hull, Kitchel and Jenks and was very active in the city. He was a member of the Thunderbirds and served a term as 'Big Chief'. He also served as President of the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, the Phoenix Kiwanis Club and Maricopa County Bar Association.
He was honored by the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, 'Who's Who in American Law, ' and as one of Arizona's 50 Men of Achievement.
In 1954, he was appointed by the Board of Regents as a Professor of Law at the University of Arizona. He also served as Vice President of the University, and later returned to private law practice in Tucson.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Taylor-Hull. He is also survived by first wife, Pauline and their children, Stanley (Beverly) Hull, Frank (Kashy) Hull and daughter, Patricia (William) Greer. In addition, he is survived by grandchildren, Steven, Leslie, Kevin, Stuart, Barbara, Norman II and Kirk Hull, Lisa Fahey, Helen Greer and Diana Clark, and eight great-grandchildren. preceded in death by granddaughter, Mary Charlotte Greer.
Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or in Mary's honor to United Cerebral Palsy.
Funeral Service 10; 00 a.m., Friday, August 13, 1999 at St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church, 4440 N. Campbell. Interment will be private. Arrangements by
BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.
