HENRIETTA ANNA SCHULZ, 88, passed on to her home in heaven on Sunday, August 22, 1999. Henrietta was born to Louis and Henrietta Schulz in Brooklyn, NY on May 31, 1911. At the age of five months she was diagnosed with asthma which kept her housebound much of her childhood and adolescent years. While other children played and attended school Henrietta struggled for every breath. As she entered adulthood her mother gave birth to a son, Robert. Henrietta gave the next 12 years to helping her mother raise Robert. Her health continued to fail until 1945 when she joined the many asthmatics moving to Arizona. What a courageous decision for a single woman to make in the 1940's. Her determination to live a full and healthy life provided her with the motivation to succeed, and indeed she did. In 1947 she married Dell Newell Stoneback of the USAAF and gave birth to a daughter, Roberta Eleanor, and a son, Vern William, in 1950. After the death of Dell in 1966 she purchased her own home and enjoyed her independence. Later she enjoyed caring for her only granddaughter, Stephanie Ann, during her elementary school years. She enjoyed traveling with her son Vern, gardening, reading and sewing. In 1997 her health sadly forced her to give up her independence. After 31 years she sold her home and moved to Desert Manor Adult Care Home where she was cared for by Rosa, her guardian angel, and the staff of Dignita Hospice. She was also loved and cared for by her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Roberta Cajero (Nick) of Tucson; son, Vern Stoneback (Sherry) of Portland, Oregon; brother, Robert Schulz of NYC; grandchildren, Bryan Worthen, Stephanie Nardi, Lisa Moxley, Ian Moxley (Misti); and great-grandson, Griffin Isaac Moxley. Memorial services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 27, 1999 at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, (Dodge Chapel), 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway). Interment to follow in South Lawn cemetery.
