JOHNNY THIBODEAUX

Services for Johnny Thibodeaux will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 11, 1999 at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Tucson, Ariz. Interment will be in the church Mausoleum. A native of St. Martinville and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Thibodeaux died at 4:35 p.m., Wednesday, August 11, 1999 at his residence.
Mr. Thibodeaux was an entrepreneur in several different businesses. He was a past member of the Lions Club in Tucson and the Optimist Club of New Iberia. He was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Tucson and Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in New Iberia.
He is survived by Evelyn R. Dickens Thibodeaux of Tucson, Ariz; three sons, Tracy L., David A., and Wade E. Thibodeaux all of Tucson, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Regan, Jessica and Taylor Thibodeaux, and Casey and Heather Settle; three great-grandchildren and one brother, Dennis Thibodeaux of Lake Charles.
Mr. Thibodeaux was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Bernadette Dugas Thibodeaux; one daughter, Vickie Sue T. Settle; two brothers, Dewey Thibodeaux and Henry Bernard.

ALTAMIRANO, Manuel G., born September 10th, 1927, went to be with his Creator our Lord on August 30, 1999 of a sudden death in El Monte, California. Survived by brother, Gavino and sister, Dolores; former wife, Carmen Herrera and children, Alfredo (Guadalupe), Maria Anita, Enrique (Lupe), Ricardo (Mariana) and Benjamin (Angelina); grandchildren, Nancy, Michelle (Randy), Anthony, Lisa (Bobby), Lupita (John), Benny II, Alfredo Jr., Rosalie, Diane, Elaine, Vanessa, Angelica, Melissa, David, Manuel, Ricardo, Jr., Angie, Benny III; great-grandchildren, Randy, Jr., Jesus, Jr., Mandy, Abel, Robert, Jr., Adrianna, A. Royce, Roseanne, Eduardo, Ricardo, Adan, Esperanza, Angel, Albert, Benny IV, Daniel, Adriana, Sabrina, Angel, Danielle; current wife, Helen; children, Geraldine and Larry; grandchildren, Larisa and Larry, Jr.

BEHNER, Richard L. 'Dick' of Tucson, passed away peacefully on September 7, 1999. Survivors include his wife, Jane; sons, Rick and Jeff Behner; daughters, Cathy (Philip) Reina, Michelle (Anthony) Banayat, and Christa (John) Butkiewicz, all of Phoenix; also stepchildren, Kevin Middleton of Ankeny, Iowa and Ryan Middleton of Dunedin, Florida; 11 grandchildren and one great granddaughter; sister, Ann Lea Naser of Las Vegas. preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Leona Behner. Richard was a retired real estate broker and the proud owner of Best Movers serving the community since 1991. A special thanks to his physicians and nursing staff at Dignita Hospice Care and to Merrill Lynch for all their support to both Jane and Dick Behner. May his memory be cherished in our hearts forever. To honor the family's request, contributions may be made to the Arizona Cancer Center/UAF, P.O. Box 5013, Tucson, AZ 85724-5013. HARTMAN, Donald C., 72, of Oracle, died September 9, 1999. Survived by wife, Violet; daughter, Charlotte Strawn of Oracle; sons, David D. Hartman of San Manuel, Clyde C. Hartman, Allen L. Hartman, both of Oracle; sisters, Opal Huddle of Willits, CA, Lorraine Kaiser of Spearfish, S.D.; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. He was a Pinal County Investigative Detective retiring after 20 years, former Fire Chief of Oracle with 31 years of service; member of the V.F.W. Oracle, American Legion Post #48, Lions Club, and started the Quail Hunters Breakfast Club many years ago. Friends may call Friday, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., EVERGREEN MORTUARY & cemetery, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile. Memorial service pending.

EVERETT PAUL KUHLMAN, JR.
September 1, 1941 – September 7, 1999
Our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed on to be with our Lord in Heaven after living a fulfilling and special life for 58 years. Paul was born in Springer, New Mexico and worked on a ranch helping his father and mother until he met and married Margie, also of Springer. They had three beautiful children and spent the last 13 years together in San Manuel, Arizona. Paul provided for his family by working at the mines for more than 30 years. Paul also served our country in the Army National Guard for 16 years, and served in Desert Storm in 1991. His love for woodworking will be remembered always through the many projects he did for his family. They are beautiful pieces of art that came from his heart.
Paul is survived by his loving spouse, Margie, daughter Carolee Kuhlman, daughter Eva June (David) Riggs, son Dean (Jennifer) Kuhlman, granddaughters RaeAnna Lee and Kristen Nicole Riggs, father and mother Everett and Mary Kuhlman of Springer, NM, brother Ira (B.J.) Kuhlman of Grand Junction, CO, and brother Jack (Sandi) Kuhlman of Springer, NM.
Paul always did anything he could to help and give to others in any way he could and even in death, gave his sight for another. Paul loved his spouse, children and grandchildren more than anything in this world and will continue to watch over his family from Heaven. He was cherished by all and will be missed always.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, September 11, 1999 at the Community Presbyterian Church, 801 McNab Parkway, in San Manuel.

SAVAGE, Judith Ann, age 56, passed away Friday, September 3, 1999. She is survived by her son, Scott Muir of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; her mother, Alice Harrant of Tucson, AZ; brother, Jack Baran also of Milwaukee; grandson, Christopher Muir and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 11 at 9:00 a.m. at DESERT ROSE CREMATION & BURIAL, 2750 S. 4th Ave. #106, 790-6388.

JOHN J. 'JACK' STAHL - Born Pittsburgh, PA January 26, 1914, died September 7, 1999 after a battle with cancer. He is survived by wife, Bonnie and his two children, Meg Sutter of Pensacola, FL and son, Jeff Stahl of Tucson; and three grandchildren. Jack had a long business career. Upon graduation from Bethany College, W.Va., he joined Westinghouse Electric Co. and later U.S. Electrical Motors. In 1936 he married Geraldine Sutton West, who died in Tucson in 1981. He spent the years 1942 – 1946 in the U.S. Navy. Upon his release from active duty, he joined A.O. Smith Corp. where he had several assignments. Following the Harvard Advanced Management Program he became a Vice President of A.O. Smith and later as President of one of their subsidiaries. He, with his wife, Gerry, retired to Tucson in 1973. At his request, NO FLOWERS, NO SERVICE. Donations may be made to TMC Hospice Care. Friends are invited to swap stories at Tucson Country Club at 11:00 a.m. on September 11, 1999. WILLIAM BARRON SULLIVAN, age 57, died at his Tucson home September 4, 1999. Born in San Francisco, Calif., son of William J. and Ann B. Sullivan. Bill graduated from the University of Arizona with a Master's degree in Economics, and assumed a professional career with the U.S. Department of Commerce, where he served in a variety of posts. During this period he resided in Clifton, Virginia. After his retirement in 1994, Bill and his wife returned to Tucson and the desert which he loved. Following the death of his father-in-law, Bill Epler, he took on his role as President of Copper Queen Publishing, and Publisher of Pay Dirt Magazine in Bisbee, AZ. Bill was interested in practically everything. Bull of Convictions, opinions, conjectures, and an inexhaustible sense of humor. He had a gentle heart and great tolerance for the views of others. His sense of responsibility was unwavering. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Maureen. He is survived by his sister, Ann Rosen of Paris, France; his mother-in-law, Betty Epler of Bisbee; his wife of 31 years, Nancy; and his beloved dogs. There will be no formal service, and his ashes will be scattered in the desert. Among his favorite charities were the Tucson Food Bank and Doctors-without Borders. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.

SUNLEY, Alma Louise, 71, died September 6, 1999. Loving wife to George Dean Sunley and mother of two sons, Paul Sunley of Frisco, Texas and Kenneth Sunley of Tucson, Arizona. She was the proud grandmother of Laura Dean, Tara Sunley and Clayton Sunley, all of the Dallas area; and great-grandmother to Gabrielle, Garrison and Grayson Dean. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Smith and Donna Vasconcellos, both of Springfield, Illinois. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 11th, at the Spanish Trail Lutheran Church, 8701 E. Old Spanish Trail in Tucson. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Alma's memory may be made to either the American Breast Cancer Foundation, 798 Kenilworth Dr. Ste 210, Towson, MD 21204 or to the Spanish Trail Lutheran Church Memorial Organ Fund.

MICHAEL NICHOLAS PATRICK WALTER - Born November 17, 1939 in Galesburg, Illinois to Albert N. and Anna L. Walter. He went suddenly to be with our Lord on September 8, 1999. preceded in death by father, Albert. Beloved husband is survived by wife, Kelly and four daughters, Michele (Roger), Jacqueline (John), Kristin (Scott) and Amy (Kent); one son, Chad (Peggy); nine grandchildren; mother, Anna; brother, Thomas (Debbie); sister, Mary Ann; close friend, Joan McFall and several nieces and nephews. Michael was semi-retired 35 years in newspaper advertising business. He was very active in youth sports. He recently volunteered at Sahuarita High School as a baseball coach. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 10 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley in Green Valley. Further arrangements will be handled through East Lawn Palms in Tucson.
Now, we know that he is golfing with the Angels. May he finally get his eagle. We love you, you'll be missed.

ANNA LEA (FRANCIS) WHEATON - Born on April 24, 1916 in Goreville, Ill. and long time Tucson resident passed away on September 07, 1999. She is survived by two wonderful sons and their wives, Roger and Donna Wheaton, Robert and Karen Wheaton; five granddaughters, Alycia, Diana, Carol, Katherine and Amber, and many other loving relatives and friends. Even after the loss of her husband, Roger F. Wheaton, Sr., and her daughter, Anna Marie, Anna Lea continued to display her love as a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She will always be forever in the hearts of everyone who she touched. Her family would like to express their deepest gratitude to her doctors, TMC Hospice and staff, also the many loving family members, friends near and far. She was a wonderful woman and we will all miss her greatly. You can make a contribution to your favorite charity in her name. Funeral service 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 13, 1999 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, with interment to follow at TMP South Lawn cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, September 12, 1999 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

ARTHUR N. CHAPPLE, age 55, of Tucson, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Daisy M. Chapple; six children; four sisters; two brothers and 15 grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 14, 1999 at Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 1019 E. 31st Street, with Rev. D. Grady Scott officiating. Inurnment services will be held South Lawn cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by family owned ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.

OMA E. HERMANN - passed away September 9, 1999. Born in Junction City, Perry County, Ohio to Daniel and Louise Crosbie on October 5, 1904. She is survived by a sister, Florence Swinehart, 98 who resides in Crown Point, Ind. Also several nieces and nephews.
Oma traveled by train to Chicago in 1923 with a girlfriend where they joined the Harvey Hotel and Restaurant Chain and went West to El Paso, Texas, and later on to Albuquerque, New Mexico working as Harvey Girls at the Harvey Railroad restaurants serving the trains as they passed through going West and back. She later transferred to Los Angeles where she managed restaurants for the Sheets Candy Co. for years. In downtown L.A. and elsewhere. She had many fond memories and stories to tell of her long and exciting career. In L.A. she met and married Edward Hermann. They had a long and rewarding life together. Ed passed away January 9, 1990. They had no children. When Oma was no longer able to stay alone in Mission Viejo, California, she had Charles Foster, a nephew move her to Tucson, Arizona in November of 1993 where he has cared for her until her passing.
There will be a graveside memorial service held at the Green Hills Mortuary in Rancho Pales Verdes, California at which time Oma's ashes will be placed beside her late husband, Ed. Time and date to be announced. No donations or flowers please, your prayers are all Oma would have request. She was a proud and gracious lady and will be missed by all. Local arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

KIRKPATRICK, Wilma 'Billy' 84, of Commerce Township, MI, formerly of Southfield, MI, died September 7, 1999. Wilma was born November 24, 1914 in Alberta, Canada and was a graduate of Victorian Nursing School in London, Ontario, Canada. A resident of Southfield from 1954 until 1989, active in Milford, MI Seniors, was a former nurse and helped establish the Fluoride Program in Southfield. preceded in death by husband, Robert J. Kirkpatrick in 1986. Survivors include daughter, Wendy (Ted) of Commerce TWP, MI and grand-children, Robert J. and Eric J. Craig. Visitation will be held Saturday, 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at WM. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, Royal Oak. Services will be held Monday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre cemetery in Southfield. Memorials may be made to the SIDS Foundation.

SHUNK, Edward M., age 71, a resident of North East, PA and Tucson, AZ, died Wednesday, September 8, 1999 at St. Vincents Health Center in Erie, PA. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Lucille Shunk, whom he married June 24, 1949; two sons, Edward Shunk of Tucson and Fritz (Sue) Shunk of North East; two daughters, Janet (Michael) Daniels of Kannapolis, NC and Julie (Bob) Davis of Tucson; one brother, Donald Shunk of Tucson; one sister, Eileen Sharer of North East; two stepbrothers, Gilbert LeSuer of Mobile, AL and Larry LeSuer of Show Low, AZ. Also survived by 10 grandchildren. Arrangements by the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, North East, PA with services there on Sunday at 1:00 p.m., Rev. David Kuchta officiating. Memorials in Tucson may be made pending the return of the family.
