I am desparately searching for the parents of one Randolph G. Smith, born in 1821 at the winter home of his parents in Savannah Ga. His parents were from New York, and his father was in the shipping business. Randolph was orphaned at an early age, and was taken by his guardian to New Orleans, La. where he was raised. He attended schools in La., and graduated from Centenary College in Jackson La. He moved to Catahoula parish in north La. where he established a law practice. He was at one time a district judge in the area. He marriage Mary Jane Rutland of Caldwell Parish in La. They had 4 children, Howard (died in infancy)Lulie,(died at 15) Oren Mayo, and Thomas Rutland, (my grandfather).
Anyone with any info, it would be greatly appreciated.
