Dearly beloved husband of Patricia J. Lucas. Loving father of Kathleen Johnson, Margaret Lucas, Sherri Lucas, Hershel Lucas, James McNulty and Mark Dias. Dear brother of Charles Lucas. Devoted grandfather of seven grandchildren.

Stanley Clifton Ames, a resident of Hayward for 41 years, entered into rest at Parkview of Hayward on Friday, September 21, 2001. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 30, 1927, he was 73 years of age. Stanley enjoyed golf and bowling. He was champion of Bay Area All Stars, CTBC and ABT. He enjoyed traveling by RV and Loved Dot’s Coffee. An avid Raider and baseball fan. A veteran of the Navy. Stanley worked for Del Monte Foods for 20 years. He was very out going and loved meeting people.
He is survived by his children, JoAnne Ames of Hayward, Bill and his wife, Dot Ames of Hayward, Mike Ames of Hayward, Rick Ames of North Hollywood and Larry and his wife, Shirel Ames of San Leandro and many adopted sons and daughters. Brother of Alice of Mississippi and Don of Niagara Falls, NY. Brother-in-law of Alice Ames of Torrance, Lauretta Carpenter of Olympia, WA, Carl Larsen and Judy Larsen both of Pittsburg. Caring grandfather of Jason, Nick and David Ames, Brian and his wife, Ruthe, Craig and his wife, Debra and Ray Gunn. Great Grandfather of Jesse, Steven and Robbie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Ames, they were marriage 52 years.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 from 5 to 8:30PM at the Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, Ca 94544. Ethel Hotchkiss Spencer died on September 19, 2001 in San Jose, CA, at the age of 79 years. Alonzo her loving husband of 45 years preceded her in death. She was the loving mother of Lon Spencer and his wife Ann of Milpitas, CA and Deborah Ely and her husband Mario Interrante of San Jose, CA.
She was the dear grandmother of five grandchildren, one great granddaughter and one unborn great grandchild. Her granddaughter Michelle Ruiz, her husband Mario and their daughter Tatiana; grandsons: Ryan Ely and Andrew Spencer; granddaughter: Lisa Haynes and her husband Rick and their first child due in October survive her. Her grandson Donald Ely preceded her in death. Other extended family members including Quentin Ely and Cynthia Spencer also survive her.
She was a native of Oakland, CA, and a resident of Fremont, CA since 1959. She retired from Lockheed Aerospace after 28 years. Donations in Ethel's memory may be made to Mid-Peninsula Pathways Hospice, 201 San Antonio Circle, Mountain View, CA 94040.

Loving mother of Robert Giggey & wife Constance of Grass Valley, CA; Bill Giggey& wife Toni of Lodi, CA and the late Joan Kraftt. Dear grandmother of 8 and great-grandmother 9. Also survived by : Step-daughter, Diana Perrin & husband Vern. Pat and Bill Hemby, Cozette and Gary Drake. A native of Kansas and resident of Oakland for 40 years. Ione was the Owner of Giggey's College of Cosmetic Retail School on Grand Ave. in Oakland. She will be greatly missed by many friends. George Yee passed away from natural causes in the family home on August 23, 2001, one day after his 88th birthday, having lived in the Bay Area for over 50 years. He emigrated from Canton, China to the United States while in his teens.
His wife, Pauline, survives him. He was a devoted father, father-in-law and friend to Gary and Caroline, Deborah and Richard, Dennis and Valerie, Barbara and William, and Tina and Joe. He was a loving grandfather of Christopher, Susan, Michael and Michele, Marisa and Christina. He also leaves behind one brother, Sal Ying Yee of Canada, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 28th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, August 29, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Covenant Church, 4000 Redwood Road, Oakland, followed by Interment at Mountain View Cemetery.

She was the loving mother of Amybeth Lake Janemarie Lake and Thomas E. Lake; and step-mother of Cathryn Lake McCoy and Michael Brian Lake. She was the dear sister of Robert H. Lucas of Martinez, CA and William Lucas of Ashland, Oregon. She was the dear grandmother of Robert West, Gwendolyn West, Julie McCoy Schuster, Jennifer McCoy, Christopher McCoy, Emily Guerra and Melida Marroquin. She was the great-grandmother of Charlotte and Jessica Fecke . She is also survived by Patricia (Lake) Wilson.
A native of India, she was 81 years of age. She was member of Freja Historical Rebekahs 284, Noble Grand 1999. Born in Mussoorie, U.P., India, she was an alumna of Woodstock School, Mussoorie U.P., India. She recently attended her 65th reunion. She was an alumna of Western College, Oxford, Ohio and Columbia Teacher's College. She served in Red Cross in India during World War II. Friends are invited to attend Memorial Service on Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at 1:00pm at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue in Oakland. She is also survived by her daughter and son, Susan Carlson of Davis , CA and Dan Prendergast of Lakewood, CO and her 4 grandchildren : Robin Carlson, Katrina B. Carlson, Chloe Prendergast and Rachel Prendergast. A native of Arkansas, and longtime resident of Oakland, age 90 years old. She was a school teacher for Oakland Public Schools; member of Montclair Presbyterian Church. Volunteer with the Cancer Screening Center @ Merritt Hospital. Memorial services will be held at Montclair Presbyterian Church, 5701 Thornhill Drive, Oakland, CA at 2:00pm. Donations may be made, in her memory, to the American Red Cross .

Pablo F. Gonzalez, 76 passed away on Monday, September 24, 2001 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, California. He was born on August 10, 1925 in Ontario, California. He was a resident of Newman, California for the past 8 years and prior of Union City, California for 30 years. He also resided in Richmond for 2 years and Hayward, California for 13 years.
He was a baker for 33 years for Toscana’s Baking Company. He served as a Private in the U.S. Army during WWII. He loved gardening, cooking, baking, camping and he was a wine connoisseur. He was a man of pride, he was family oriented and loved nature. He was a very loving father of 7 children, 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary S. Gonzalez of Newman, California. He also is survived by his daughter; Dolores Gonzalez of Union City and his six sons; John of Union City, Jessie of Carlsbad, Paul of Sacramento, Milo I. of Union City, Manuel of Modesto and Tony A. Gonzalez of Turlock, California. He leaves behind his four sisters and three brothers. His beautiful 17 grandchildren; Christina, Pablo III, Megan, Angelina, John Jr., Michael Paul, Daniel F., Nicole R., Jennifer, Crystal, Janell, Manuel and Rosie M. Gonzalez, Larry, Felicia and Alicia Ellis and Brittany Cheranich. He has his wonderful 10 grandchildren; Alexis Nicole, Pablo IV, Elisabeth M., Javier, Maribel, Austin and Audrey Gonzalez, Lorenzo, Carissa and Vaness Ellis.

Don was a WWII Vetran and a member of the 6th Armored Division. He was a Coin Collector and past president of the Fremont Coin Club and a Silver Star Award Bridge Player. He worked for Continental Food Service for 42 years.

Mabel was a very active member of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 30 years. She enjoyed teaching people the bible. Loved to entertain family and friends, especially cooking and baking for her loved ones. She worked for the Hayward Unified School District for 20 years as a cafeteria manager.
Loving mother to Thomas Ray of Union City. Dear sister to Lena Pulido of Menlo Park. Devoted grandmother of nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mable was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, John Norman Ray, her daughter Nancy Woods, her son John Norman Ray and her brother George Pacheco.
