Catherine was a very active member of the Upper Room Church in Hayward. She loved the Lord, she loved life, and she loved her family and loved helping others in need.

Genevieve M. Carija, and Antioch resident of 1 ½ year entered into rest Saturday, November 3, 2001 at Sutter Delta Hospital in Antioch. Native of Los Angeles, Ca. born on May 6, 1926 to Mr. Alfonso and Mary Rios.
Genevieve enjoyed being a great mother, buying clothes, cooking great meals, dancing the night away. But the thing she loved to do the most was making people smile and happy.
She is survived by her dear mother, Mary Rios of So. California. Daughters; Desiree Ramos of Brentwood and Lanai Paukert of Hayward. Only son Terry Cooper of Garden Grove, Ca. Six grandchildren; Vanessa K. Ramos, Michael Ramos, Jessica Paukert, Nicole Paukert, Samuel Hiscock and Don E. Bursto.
Friends are welcome to attend a Visitation on Thursday, November 8, 2001 from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service on Friday, November 9, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. in the Reflection Chapel of Chapel of the Chimes. Interment will follow.

Hallie Church, Born on May 15, 1920 in Brown Creek, West Virginia passed away on Monday, November 12, 2001 at her daughter’s home in Castro Valley, California. She marriage Glen Wamon Church on September 2, 1939. Glen passed away in 1996, they had been marriage 57 years. Hallie has been a resident of Alameda County for 40 years. She was very devoted to her family. She was a magnificent cook and a wonderful homemaker.
Hallie was preceded in death by two sons, Levan Arlin Church and Gene Edward Church. She is survived by her loving children; Janice Irene Church of Tracy, Patricia Ann Saunders of Manteca, Belinda Sue Ratto of Valley Springs, Connie Joann Journey of Castro Valley and Michael Glen Church of Tracy, California. She is also survived by her dear sister and two brothers, Alice Church of Hayward, California, Paul Rotenberry and Mason Rotenberry both of West Virginia. She also leaves behind her wonderful 11 grandchildren and her terrific 16 great-grandchildren .

Folk dancing was one of her most favorite things to do throughout her life. She loved her job and was still working on a part time basis. She was one of the first women in outside sales in the Freight Industry on the west coast.

Betty was the President of San Leandro High School PTA. She was PEO of Chapter MO. She served as a Deaconess for the First Presbyterian Church in San Leandro. She was a devoted donor to the Oakland Museum of California for 20 years. She was a homemaker for 57 years.
Loving mother to Richard Hitchcock of San Lorenzo, Robert Hitchcock of Palm Springs, Douglas Hitchcock of Davis and Donald of Napa. Devoted grandmother of nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. C.R. “Ted” Hitchcock preceded her in death in 1981 after 42 years of marriage. Keller Daughtrey preceded her in death in 1998 after 15 years of marriage.

Chan Lan Fong passed away in Alameda, CA on November 8, 2001. She was the beloved wife of Hall Fong and the loving mother of Oakland residents Arthur Fong, Annie Fong, Jennie Fong. Her son Eddie Fong preceded her in death. She was the sister of Chan Shing of Hong Kong and dear grandmother of Kimberly Low and Matthew Low. Her niece, Joan Chan and six other nieces from Hong Kong survive her.
A native of China, she was 90 years of age.

Darold Gene Brewer, 62 passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2001 at Washington Hospital in Fremont, California. He was born on November 11, 1939 in Ward, Arkansas. He has been a resident of Fremont, California for 36 years. Darold enjoyed horse racing and computers. He loved classic cars, collecting miniature cars and airplanes. He loved flowers and liked going to the movies. He also enjoyed country music. He worked at Cleaners Hangers Company as a Plant Superintendent for 15 years. He worked as an Airplane Mechanic and Flight Engineer for five years. He also worked for Reynolds for 15 years and CHC Industries for 16 years. He served in the U.S. Army for two years, then non-active reserves for three years. He also attended college before that for two years.
Darold was preceded in death by his father, Hiram Brewer, a step-daughter, Grace Firmalo and a brother, Gerry Brewer. He is survived by his beloved wife of two years and nine months, Emma S. Brewer of Fremont, California. He is also survived by his beloved mother, Ellen Louise Brewer of San Leandro, California. He is survived by his loving daughter, Michelle & Ken Scott of Pleasanton, California. Step-daughter, Roma & Michael Caminero of Concord, California and Step-son-in-law, Louie of Manila, Philippines. He also leaves behind a loving son, Darrell & Kelly Brewer of San Jose, California. He also leaves behind two dear sisters, Elsie & Mitch Ramirez and Susie & Mike Medeiros both of San Leandro, California. His one dear brother, Keith Brewer of San Leandro, California.
