Tuita of Union City, Talikavili Tuita of New Zealand, Sifa Tuita of Union City, Samuela Tuita of Hayward, CA., Lopeti Tuita of New Zealand and Paea Tuita of Union City.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 14, 2001 from 5:00-11:00 p.m. with an evening service at 8:00 p.m. in the Reflection Chapel at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward. Friends are welcome to attend a Funeral service Saturday, December 15, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. in the Reflection Chapel with Interment to follow at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park.

Robert “Bob” E. Jacobs, 64 passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2001 at his home in Hayward, California. He was born on September 9, 1937 in Alameda, California. He was a resident of Hayward for 21 years and prior of San Lorenzo, California. He was a wonderful and dedicated husband, dad and grandpa. He was a Machinist by trade, working at United Can & Bay City Iron Works for 20 years. His priorities in life were his family, friends and church. He was actively involved with his church, United Church of Christ in Hayward with the UCC Marriage Encounters Expression and part of his church’s “Love Circle”. He enjoyed camping with his family and friends. Bob was very special.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Sharyn C. Jacobs of Hayward, California. His loving children, Annette Garcia of Sparks, Nevada, Christine Bridgeman of Fremont, Deborah Lockhart of Los Angeles and Ken Jacobs of Hayward, California. He also leaves behind two dear sisters, Arlyne Schroeder of San Jose, California and Roberta Betts of Levan, Utah. He also leaves behind his four wonderful grandchildren, Tim Borhauer, Kalli Jacobs, Lowell Garcia and Karen Garcia.

Maggie M. Phillips died in Piedmont, CA on December 1, 2001. Dearly beloved wife of Marvin Phillips for 59 years and the loving and devoted mother of Deirdra Gardener of Davidson, NC and Clifford Phillips of Barberton, OH. She was the Caring Sister of Lois Cox of St. Albans, WV. Her brother Clifford Morris preceded her in death. She is survived by her grandchildren: Ian Gardner of Vallejo, CA; Scott Gardener of San Diego, CA; Kaile Gardener of Raleigh, NC; Christopher Phillips of Seattle, WA; Nicholas Phillips of Reno, NV and by many dear relatives and friends.
Mrs. Phillips was a teacher for 35 years at Portola Middle School in Richmond, Bancroft Middle School and San Leandro High School and was fully committed to the lives and welfare of her students. She was a native of Charleston, WV, but had lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for 58 years. She was 83 years of age. She was a member of the Oakland First Baptist Church; Rockridge Women's Club; Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Zeta Phi Chapter and the California Retired Teachers Association. She was a graduate of the University of Charleston and Holy Names College. Friends are invited to share in a Memorial Service at Oakland First Baptist Church on Saturday, December 22, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers Memorial Gifts to the Oakland First Baptist Church Foundation, 534 22nd Street, Oakland, CA 94612, are preferred.

Katie Quan passed away peacefully on November 20, 2001, at the age of 84, in Oakland. Beloved wife of the late Edward Quan; loving mother of Evelyn Chan of San Francisco, Elaine Stockey of Oakland, Barbara Quan of Piedmont, Verna Quan of Oakland, and the late Stanley Quan of Oakland; dear grandmother of Michael Chan (Elizabeth), Tami Chan Francia (Ruel), Tumara Stockey, Dr. Lloyd Stockey, and Khari Stockey; dear greet-grandmother of Krystal Chan, Alyssa Chan, and Marissa Francia. Numerous relatives survive her.
Katie, a lifelong resident of Oakland was a homemaker. She will be remembered for her gentle nature and gracious ways. All who loved her will miss Katie.
There will be a private memorial gathering for the family later.

Mary Kwai Fung Nakamoto. Mary was born on Aug. 3, 1947 in Canton, China passed away on Dec. 3, 2001. She was 54. She leaves behind her family of three: Bonnie and Ryan, her children and her husband, Ron.
Mary was a spontaneous, Happy person, full of life and content with the family she so cherished.
She was a loving, nurturing, protective mother to her children. A supportive, caring, companion and best friend to her husband. A person who always sacrificed and cared for others over herself. Mary was one of God’s truly beautiful children on Earth. Mary reinitiated her professional career after her children were in college as a Real Estate agent, a career which ideally suited her “get up and go” nature and desire to grow through new and exciting experiences. She was well prepared, professional and always built relationships with her clients as a friend.
There was only one of her, a truly unique soul. Her family, relatives and friends around the nation will truly miss her.

Glendle H. Hale and Virginia M. Hale, Oakland residents for 30 plus years.
Glendle was born in St. Louis, MO on May 12, 1923. He retired in 1976 from the U.S. Marine Corps as a Sgt. Major after serving 32 years. He also retired in 1988 working at the NUMMI plant in Fremont. He played an active role as Chairman for the UAW Local #2244 Retiree's Chapter. Glen died of a heart attack at home on October 19, 2001. He was 78. His son, Steve Hale and stepson, Robert Miller, survive him.
Virginia was born in Earlham, IA on February 24, 1917. She retired from American Home Foods, Vacaville and Kelly-Clark, Inc. Virginia passed away of natural causes on November 8, 2001. She was 84. Her son, Robert Miller, and her stepson, Steve Hale, survive her.
They will be deeply missed by family and friends. Private services will be held on December 1, 2001. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society are recommended.

Robert Ross Eichman

Robert R. Eichman, 72, was a loving family man. Bob was known as “Grandpa” or “Uncle Bob” to the family and friends alike. He loved children, especially his grandchildren; Jimmy, Jenny and Dianna. He was so proud of each one of them. When he spoke of them, which he did often, his face would just light up.
Bob enjoyed trips to Reno, collected Chevron Cars, loved music from the 40’s and 50’s and spending time on the internet. He retired from John T. Raisin Corp. as Plant Manager after 40 years and spent his days puttering around the house and helping his youngest granddaughter Dianna with her schoolwork. He was a resident of Hayward for 50 years. Bob passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2001 at his home in Hayward, California. He was born on January 29, 1929 in Ismay, Montana.
He was preceded in death by his wife Veree J. Eichman. He is survived by his daughters, Christina Jackson and son-in-law, John Jackson of Union City, Janet Gennoy of Livermore and Carrie Eichman of Hayward, California. He also leaves his very special grandchildren, Jimmy Gennoy, Jennifer Gennoy and Dianna Jackson and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Olivine “Sis” P. Aguiar, 60, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2001 at her home in Penngrove, California. She was born on April 4, 1941 in Pitcher, Oklahoma. She was a resident of Penngrove, for 9 years and prior of Fremont for 20 years, she was a native of Alameda, California. She was a co-owner of Aguiar Truck Equipment for 25 years.
Sis was preceded in death by her father, James Smith and a daughter, Elizabeth Foster . She was also preceded in death by her sweet granddaughters, Stephanie and Katie Depree (twins). She is survived by her beloved husband of 25 years, Ernie J. Aguiar of Penngrove, California. She was the precious daughter of Betty Newton of Penngrove, California. She is survived by her loving daughters and a son, Dana Aguiar of Modesto, Andrea Aguiar of Penngrove and Robert Foster of Sacramento, California. She leaves her dear brother, James Smith of Hayden, Arizona. She also leaves behind her very special 7 grandchildren, John and Amanda Clymens (twins), Kayla, Krysta and JD Depree. Sis leaves her very dear and special friend, Sunshine Gallagher of Fremont, California.

Lorraine G. Treiber, 79, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2001 at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California. She was born on January 12, 1922 in Newark, New Jersey. She was a resident of Oakland for 53 years. She was the President of Women’s Missionary Ministry at Grace Church. Her hobby and ministry was crocheting. She crocheted hundreds of blankets, etc. and sent them to Veterans, friends and even to other countries. Among her favorite things to do she was spending time with her church family. She was always involved in service to God in her church, Lewelling Community Church, formerly Haven of Rest Church. She and her beloved husband, Fred, spent many hours together enjoying short trips to their favorite places in Northern California.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dale J. Dano, a sister, Anna DeGeso a brother, Charles Marcell and a grandson, Elliott Meier. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Frederick J. Treiber of Oakland, California. She was survived by her loving daughters, Diane & Raymond Ringer of Forney, Texas and Leslie Treiber of San Leandro, California. She also leaves behind a dear sister, Audrey Merilucci of New Jersey. She has 4 beautiful and wonderful grandchildren, Marcella Jones and F. Wesley Ringer of Forney, Texas, Eric and Justin Meier of San Leandro, California. She also leaves behind 4 very special great-grandchildren, Chad and Amanda Jenkins, Chelsea Jones and BradWesley Ringer all of Forney, Texas.

Charles G. Leitheiser 82, passed away Sunday December 16, 2001 of natural causes. He was a Hayward resident for 35 years. Born February 22, 1919 in South Dakota. Dearly beloved husband of Leona Leitheiser of Hayward for 31 years. Loving father of Fran Hosea of San Juan Island, Roberta Libby of Durham, Marjorie Dimmick of Arcata, Patti Bell of San Jose, Phillip Curtis of Idaho, Todd Leitheiser of Hodiak and the late Sandra Goely. Dear brother of Mary Ann Henry of Claremont and the late Ray, Jim, Ralph, Bill and Marcus Leitheiser. Devoted grandfather of twenty three grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Chuck enjoyed wood working, his wood creations can be seen in many places across the country. Chuck was an accomplished cabinet maker and continued after retirement to delight his family, friends, neighbors and the community at large with his imaginative creations. (windmills, animals, butterflies, if you could name it, he would make it.) Carl Edward Lazzereschi age 76, a San Leandro resident entered into rest Saturday, December 15, 2001. Local native born in San Francisco on January 31, 1925.
Carl was in the U.S. Army 43rd Infantry Division. Was in World War II and honored with a purple heart. He was a great bible student and an Elder for 1st Christian Church of Castro Valley. Worked 45 years in Tank & Body Industry. A shop Superintendent for Trailco in Oakland.
Dearly beloved husband of 55 years of Mrs. Erma Lazzereschi of San Leandro. Loving father of Lavern Lazzereschi of Richmond, Claudia Kim of San Leandro, Tina Lazzereschi of Manteca, Elizabeth Ortiz of Santa Clara and Andy Lazzereschi of Pleasanton. Dear brother of Virginia Bazvik of Castro Valley and Ernest Lazzereschi of Woodbridge. He will also be missed dearly by his six grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2001 from 5 to 8:30 and a Service in his honor on Thursday, December 20, 2001, 12:00 in the Reflection Chapel.
