Ervin, Jeanette passed away in Kentfield, Marin County, CA on April 2, 2004. She was born on May 31, 1916. Jeanette lived most of her life in the Hayward and Castro Valley area. She was preceded in death by her husband Oscar and three sisters. She is survived by her loving family, daughter, Barbara Holland, Grandsons Guy and Jay and wife Karyn and great granddaughter Maya, Sisters Doris Long and Geraldine Stephanson. Nieces Melinda Kanthack, Pat Swanson and Bertha West. Stepson Jerry Marks and many dear nieces and nephews of Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas.
Jeanette will always be remembered as a kind sweet natured person. Her wit and humor never failed her. She will be missed by all those fortunate enough to have been a part of her life. SINA THELMA DANIELS The angels came and said “its time to go. God is waiting” and she quietly left us on February 21, 2004 , age 87. She was born in Missouri abut lived most of her life in Sacramento. She is survived by her beloved children, Bessie Smittle and James Green and wife Becky of Sacramento; Joe Grady and wife Jane of Arizona; and grandson, John Russell (who took care of her the last years of her life). She was preceded in death by beloved daughters, Sharon Green, Shirley Russell Valine and Dessie Martinez; Husbands, Louie Daniels, Poney Green and Ivy Grady. She is also survived by 3 sisters in Missouri and a brother in Washington; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held Wed. HELMS, RONALD GENE born March 25, 1945 in Richmond, Calif. and raised in Rio Linda, Calif. with his two brothers Gayle and Richard Helms by his loving parents Ruth and Eugene Helms of 1500 Q St. in Rio Linda Calif. Ronald passed away on July 30, 2003 to be with his older brother, Richard and his mother Ruth Helms. Leaving behind his much loved son Doug Helms, two grandchildren Nick and Surae, his loving father Eugene, brother Gayle Helms and surviving family members. Ronald was a painting contractor most of his life but his real passions were hunting and fishing which he did more and better than anyone I ever knew, from the shores of California, coast to coast of Canada and all the rivers and lakes in between. He will be missed, remembered and loved by all his friends and family forever. Eldin D. Jackson, born in Kansas January 14, 1922, died at his home in Castro Valley August 11, 2003, he was 81. He was one of 14 children. Nine surviving siblings. Resident of California since 1946 and Castro Valley since 1962. Served in WWII & Korean Wars as Navy Electronics Technician. Attended Hartnell College, Salinas and U.C. Berkeley in civil engineering. Retired from Pacific Bell as engineering Manager after 30 years service. Served as Vice President and President, as well as Board Member of Bay Area Retired Telephone Men’s Club. Member of IEEE for 25 years, during which he served as chairman of S.F. Council. Life member of IEEE. Served on Board of Directors at Highland Place.
He is survived by his loving wife and friend, Eleanor, of 57 years and daughter Joan Jackson of Rohnert Park, son David Jackson of San Leandro, two grandsons; Kevin & Timothy. Also, many brothers, sister, nephews and nieces, most in the Midwest.
He enjoyed playing golf and bridge. He was a great help to his wife in her many singing engagements.
At his request, services will be private. Donation may be made to the American Federation for the Blind or Shrine Children’s Hospital in San Francisco.

Beloved husband of Sadie Jones. Devoted father of Glen, Earl Jr., Kenneth, Otis, Earl III, Alma, Lydia and Joan also daughters-in-law Patricia, Roshelle and Marie. Loving brother of Dorothy Miles, Renard Jones and Cynthia Sam. He is also survived by a score of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brother-in-law, sister-in-law and other loving family and friends. He spent 7 years serving in the US Army and 7 years in the US Air Force. He was employed by GI Trucking for 15 years and retired in March, 2001. Earl was very much into his family and loved everyone and this is the way we will remember him. Myra Marie Foster passed away peacefully at home on January 31, 2004. A 55 year resident of Castro Valley, California, Myra was born in Appleton, Minnesota on February 20, 1922.
Myra was the beloved wife of Herbert C. Foster for 48 years. She was the devoted mother of sons John and Daniel Woodward; stepson Steven Foster and daughters-in-law Christine and Brenda. Myra was the proud grandmother of Eric, Kenneth, Nathaniel and Sean; and great-grandmother of Mason, Austin and Victoria.
Myra will be remembered for her love and devotion to family and friends and for her wonderful sense of humor. She was a homemaker extraordinaire who loved to cook for family and guests and share coffee with friends and neighbors. She loved her home and garden. Myra enjoyed traveling but was always glad to return home to her cats and a decent cup of coffee. Her love blessed our family and she will be greatly missed.
